About this game

You wake up as a ghost, with no memory of who you were or how you died. The only clue to your past is the empty suit of armour you now possess.
As you explore an abandoned castle and piece together your memories, you’ll uncover your tale: A tale of broken promises, regret, and bonds that last beyond death.
But your story doesn’t have to die with you.

The Last Winter Knight is an atmospheric Gothic visual novel that features:
A melancholy story where you play as a ghostly knight haunting a suit of armour, featuring over 100k words.
Point and click segments that let you explore a lonely castle.*
Hand-drawn artwork that captures a dark fairy tale feel.
A pensive piano soundtrack that subtly shifts depending on where and what you examine.
Multiple endings to uncover: Will you remained trapped in your armour, or finally find peace?

The Last Winter Knight is 100% human made – mostly by one human, a solo developer who painted each frame, recorded and edited every track, typed every line of code and constantly agonised over word choices. Thank you so much for checking out this game and huge labour of love!
A special thank you to the people who helped make this project possible:
Wanpans Armoury for providing armour foley, playtesting and acting as a consultant for medieval arms, armour and general knowledge. There are many, many breaks from reality in this fantasy game, none of which are their fault.
Cobaye and Sammy L. for playtesting and moral support.
ArcanaXIX for the haunting cello performances.
n3ur0515 (Neur) for editing the trailer.
Jason Cura for additional last-minute audio assistance.
And friends and family and for their support.

Upcoming Updates: Slight Price Change, Extra Content
Hi friends, I hope you've been doing well!I have an update for you today on some upcoming changes:Firstly, in two weeks (on August 25th), Winter Knight's price will be adjusted by a dollar, from 13.99 to 14.99. Why? Well, Winter Knight is basically already discounted. It has more words than a full length novel, more visuals than the vast majority of VNs of its length, and a staggering amount of original music, all for less than 15 bucks. But, I wanted it to be something players could grab easily even without a discount, so I priced it at less than what I thought was fair to me. Unfortunately, I've found that steam as a storefront doesn't work like that. It's very difficult to sell something here if there isn't a shiny discount slapped on, no matter what the actual cost might be. Combined with steam's high cut, it becomes difficult as a dev to do this often. As you may have guessed, Winter Knight's sales figures have been rather dismal, converting at less than my most conservative estimates (around 2% at launch, and around 3 - 4% now. If you aren't familiar with steam's averages, yeah, that's pretty bad, haha.)So, paradoxically, in order for me to offer it for less (and actually make sales), I have to increase it first. It will still be only fifteen bucks at base; if you've been waiting for a deeper discount, I hope you'll be patient a little longer.I really, truly appreciate your understanding. It's been a rocky few months for me; I want to keep making games, and your support is what makes that possible.Extra ContentAs a thank you, I'll be adding bonus content to the base game in the form of playable short stories. These will be unlocked after getting the true ending, and show scenes and memories that didn't fit in the main story. I had thought about doing DLC, but feel now that it's better to just add it to the base for everyone to play.I'm not certain how many I'll add at this point, but the first story is already written, and I hope to have news soon on when it w...Read full article on Community Announcements (ENDYSIS)Patch NotesOfficial

Patch notes: Autosaves have been updated: The game now autosaves before every choice, allowing you to reload quickly in case you accidentally picked the wrong option or unexpectedly came across an ending. Please do not rely on autosaves in place of manual saves for generally saving your progress as these slots get automatically overwritten. Save slots have increased from 60 to 72. Fixed a bug where not typing a name correctly in a certain scene would not let you try again and lead to a potential soft-lock. Minor text edits and spacing have been adjusted.
