In Wisps of the Elements, guide Air, Fire, Stone, and Water through a grid-based adventure. Each spell has a significant impact, and your enemies use their own synergies to outmaneuver you.
About this game
The Elements got transported into the physical world! Will you be the hero to defeat them? Well… No. You are the Elements!
After a breach mysteriously opened in the elemental world, Air, Fire, Stone and Water explore this new land and discover concepts they would never have imagined - such as "forests", "tides" or even "people"
Game mechanics
Wisps of the Elements is a grid-based rogue-lite. Each element has a special effect: Fire and Stone aim at controlling the board, while Air and Water get bonuses and penalties depending on the tide cycle.
Enemies are matched at random, ensuring that each group of opponents is unique. With every expedition comes a new choice of spells; build powerful synergies or you'll be easily countered. Will you be outsmarted by an AI?
Looking for a good challenge?
Wisps of the Elements is difficult by design. There is no xp nor equipment to increase your stats - only your logic and knowledge of the game. The enemies all have unique abilities, and an AI smart enough to use them in synergy. So… still interested?

Wisps of the Elements is released!
Today is a huge milestone for me. Ti give you an idea, my first commit for this game was on April 21st, 2022. 6,360 commits later and we're today 🥲The game did not receive a massive amount of wishlists (I need to keep my day job noooo) but I'm hella' proud I released a game before we enter the age when creating a game consists solely in writing a prompt. Thanks to everyone involved in this amazing journey 🙂Benoît KoRead full article on Community Announcements (Eka)Patch NotesOfficial
Fixed an issue occuring during the first battle
I noticed an issue occurring during the first battle of some games, caused by the first-battle instructions. The issue triggered the error-recovery panel. This is a minor issue, as players can simply recover from there - but crashing on the first battle does not send the right signal 🫤I couldn't reproduce the issue on my computer, so I couldn't fix the root cause. Instead, I made sure that it no longer crashes the game, but simply hides the instructions temporarilyIf you encountered the issue, please reach out! I would love to fix the root cause here, and apparently, it only happened to 2 players 😅Read full article on Community Announcements (Eka)AnnouncementsOfficial
QoL improvements
Hello everybody!I have just pushed a new release for Wisps of the Elements. I did not add any new content, but instead decided to focus on improving the current interfaceEnable checking the enemy spells descriptions from within the battle. I feel that this was largely missing so far, but I struggled to find an acceptable approach without making the enemy description card too crowdedUpdate the instructions given on the very first battle, to help the new players furtherFixed performance issues on linuxUpdate the interface so it fits better on small screen. UI elements used to get in the way of the battle board, that is now fixedAdded custom cursor, which are now pixel art and more explicitUpdated the panel after the breach creation, which was too slow to appearNext Fest starts tomorrowWisps of the Elements is subscribed to Steam's October Next Fest, which starts tomorrow! I am super excited for it to happen 🤩Release date is on Oct. 24th, roughly one week after Next Fest ends - which makes me even more excited 🤩🤩Remember to whishlist the game if that isn't done yet!Read full article on Community Announcements (Eka)AnnouncementsOfficial
