Release date and dev update
Hello everyone!I'm happy to announce that we're on schedule to meet our September 29th release date! Right now we're wrapping up Alpha Testing, tuning the game and fixing every issue we come across. These last 11 months have been an incredible journey. As a solo developer, I really pushed myself beyond what I thought I could achieve with Escape from 8-Bit High. My goal has always been to create the kind of adventure game I've dreamed of playing: an epic, funny story filled with meaningful choices, challenging puzzles, and countless little surprises that reward curiosity and make every playthrough feel different.Thank You!Even though I code and draw the game myself, I would never have reached this point without the incredible people who generously gave their time to help.A huge thank you to:Hank, the brilliant sound designer and composer behind one of the biggest original soundtracks I've ever seen in an adventure game.Brogan Farr, who has done an amazing job coordinating the complex voice-over process.Ana Méndez, who translated 10,849 lines of dialogue into Spanish in record time.My fantastic QA testers, including Steven Don, Alessio Ribeca, Ramon Wilhelm, and everyone else who helped squash bugs and improve the game. And of course... YOU.Whether you've been following development, wishlisted the game, played the demo, or simply taken the time to read this post—thank you. It truly means the world to me.What makes Escape from 8-Bit High unique?Three playable characters, each with their own storyline, personality, and meaningful choices.A highly replayable adventure. Some events and puzzles are randomized, so every playthrough offers new surprises.Multiple ways to solve puzzles. Your choices don't just affect dialogue—they can dramatically change how the story unfolds and which ending you'll reach.Four unlockable arcade mini-games to build your own retro '80s arcade collection.A unique Music Battle system, where you'll unlock new songs throughout the adventure, each with...Read full article on Community Announcements (duckmadeofwood)Patch NotesOfficial
Huge milestone for Escape From 8-Bit High!
And wow… there is so much to explore and discover. Here’s a quick breakdown:Hank explores Cloudydale High, trying to uncover who hacked the Pommodore 64—and how to stop them—while being chased by zombies, vampires, and ghosts.Alex travels to the center of the Earth, helps spark a revolution, befriends a dinosaur, and uncovers the true secret of Atlantis.Duck heads into space to stop the evil Kelad Empire from helping the Pommodore 64 conquer Earth. To make it back home, he’ll need to learn how to bend space itself. This is by far my most ambitious game yet, and I can’t wait to take you on an epic, fun journey like no other. Now… onward to finishing the game! 🦆Read full article on Community Announcements (duckmadeofwood)AnnouncementsOfficial
Firenze Indies - 2000 Wishilists - Duck in space
Hi Ducky Friends,First of all, I’d like to thank you all for your support! Escape From 8-Bit High has reached 2,000 wishlists! That’s a great achievement for a solo developer like me!Last Sunday I also attended Firenze Indies. I had the chance to show the demo to many new players, along with previews of some new sections of the game. It was incredibly useful, and I took note of all the feedback. Thanks to everyone who came by and played! Development is going well, and we’ll soon start testing some parts of the game. Escape From 8-Bit High includes lots of choices and different paths, so testing everything won’t be easy!I’ve just finished a new scene set on the asteroid Mine Business IV. There are so many different things Duck can do in this area that I almost lost count! I hope you’ll have fun exploring it in the final game. I’m pouring all my passion into making this a truly epic adventure. Also, one of the players at the festival beat my personal high score on Skate Hard, the Game Kid mini-game you can play as Duck. Now I need to practice more! Thanks again for your support, and see you soon!— DuckRead full article on Community Announcements (duckmadeofwood)Patch NotesOfficial

Hello Ducky friends!I'm very happy to announce that after Steam Next Fest we are very close to 2000 Wishlists! Thanks everybody for your support!More important, I managed to watch many walkthroughs of people playing the demo! That was extremely helpful!I have now updated the demo at version 1.9:Fixed a bug of Hank leaving the bush without really leaving it when interacting with the vanFixed telephone hotspot in the living room (hard to click on some resolutions)Corrected a typo in Hank presentation cardAdjusted the position of dialogues in the van scenesFound what was causing the mouse cursor to flicker in Music Battle and Arcade scenes on some systems and fixed itWe had report of broken achievements on Win10. I am not 100% sure this is going to work, but I am now forcing Steam verification earlier in the loading. Hopefully that will make sure that when you start playing you are definitely connected to Steam. Let me know! Thanks again everybody for your support! I'm taking in consideration of all your feedback as we are moving forward with the development!See you soon!Read full article on Community Announcements (duckmadeofwood)Patch NotesOfficial
