Patch 0.1.0 - Towns and roads

Hello Adventurers, We are excited to release our first major update! This patch brings balance improvements, new events, gameplay enhancements, and a ton of new game cards! Patch 0.1.0 Towns and roads New cards New card type New status effects New NPCs Mobs balance changes Cards balance changes Gameplay Improvements: Towns and Roads We continue to enhance the gameplay experience. Now, on the open map, you’ll find towns and roads with new, useful mechanics. In towns, players are safe and can remove cards from their decks at the blacksmith, restore health, and trade with NPCs. Roads are crucial for efficient travel across the island—they connect cities and require minimal action points to traverse. Balance Improvements: New Base Effects and Universal Cards To add variety to the gameplay, some enemies now have starting effects. These effects are applied at the beginning of combat and can last for several turns or until the end of the battle. A new category of cards has also been introduced—Universal cards. These cards can be used in both Silence and Disarm states. Enemies also received new Universal cards: for example, bandits will switch to melee combat if prevented from using other cards. New Mythic Cards A range of new Mythic rarity cards have been added to the game. Typically, Mythic cards feature unique mechanics. Some can be used on both allies and enemies, others utilize random effects, and some rely on effect checks. These new cards could become a formidable weapon in the hands of a skilled adventurer! Other Changes Our team has rethought other balance aspects: some monsters have been weakened or strengthened, the mechanics of certain game cards and their stats have been adjusted, numerous graphical inaccuracies have been fixed. We've also added new unique events, revising their frequency and appearance rules, and work on the CROWN shop is still ongoing.

    Devlog #1 - Combat System

Hello, venturers, Today, we are starting a series of posts about the development of our game, as well as the challenges our team has encountered while adding new gameplay mechanics. The first post in the series is focused on the combat system in Treasure Atlas. In our game, you will choose a class and special traits for your character, which will directly affect the combat system. Both the classes and the cards are divided into three major groups, linked to typical game attributes: Strength, Agility, and Intelligence. There are no universal cards or classes, in theory: every card is always tied to a specific attribute. However, there are cards that are useful for any class or playstyle (for example, Basic Heal – a card that heals the character – is categorized under Intelligence, but in essence, it’s more of a universal card). To encourage players to explore game mechanics and collect interesting card combinations during gameplay, based on their chosen playstyle and character class, we introduced the native attribute system. The goal of this system is simple: to enhance cards that share the same attribute as the character. For example, Basic Attack – the simplest creature attack card that deals damage – comes in three variations: Strength, Agility, and Intelligence. All of these cards have the same base damage, but if you use a card with the character’s native attribute, the damage increases by 25%. This is where the first problem arose: not all cards can simply be enhanced by 25%. For instance, it’s unclear how to handle cards that disable the target (such as Stun or Silence). To solve this, we came up with alternative ways to enhance native attribute cards, but these solutions will be explained in more detail in future posts. The next step was to design the appearance of the cards to match their attribute and intended use. It’s important that players can quickly glean as much information as possible about the effects of any card at a glance. This requires carefull...

    Treasure Atlas World History

The world of Treasure Atlas was once a majestic realm, a constellation of islands that served as vital links in the grand tapestry of trade routes. These islands thrummed with the vibrant energy of bustling markets and lively ports, where throngs of merchants flocked, eager to unveil their wares and amass untold riches. Yet, the prosperity of islands sparked envy in rival nations. In a clandestine assembly of rulers, they conspired to divert the trade routes, plunging the kingdom into decline. As commerce withered, panic spread through the cities, driving inhabitants to flee. Anarchy reigned; civil strife ignited, and rogue factions seized power. The government, unable to navigate the storm of crisis, sought refuge in distant lands. Years slipped by, and the islands of Treasure Atlas crumbled into ruins. Now, they are shrouded in danger and cloaked treasures, relics of fleeing traders. Venture forth into this forsaken kingdom, where every step is fraught with peril, in search of lost fortunes and the unraveling of ancient mysteries.
