About this game

Miss Paint is a puzzle platformer game that takes place inside a nostalgic computer interface where you can use image editing tools such as rotate, resize, copy, move, and rectangle to edit the levels themselves and lead Miss Paint to victory by touching the color green!

Each color behaves in a different way!

Collect all the green to win, don't edit blue, and don't touch orange unless you want to die!

                                                                                   (and more!)

The game supports player built custom levels so even when you finish the main campaign                                                                   you'll have infinitely more content to look forward to!

Explore the retro computer interface and uncover all its secrets!

Twice Twice Newsletter - June 2026

Miss PaintYou know it, you love it. It’s our game. Miss Paint. We got new things to show you so nothing better to do than just get started!Guess The New Tool:Can you guess this never before seen tool by silhouette? That’s right, it’s the Eyedropper Tool! How does it work? You can select a color within a line of sight of the tool, then the fill bucket tool will now use that color. So of course, this means that the eyedropper tool doesn’t do anything on its own, since there needs to be another tool. That doesn’t mean it’s not AWESOME though. It’s opened the door for a ton of line of sight based puzzles. They’re super fun and we can’t wait for you to see them!! ;)Here's a little sneak peek:Sprucing Things UpWe’ve put a great deal of effort into making the game look a lot better, which includes…NEW AWESOME ANIMATIONS BABYSuch as this flashy new commit animation:Or this juicy grinding animation:Or what about this trippy new overlap animation! Also, we’ve stepped up our level art game a lot - check out these awesome redesigns of old levels:crazy_mazeOLD:NEW:crane_gameOLD:NEW:magma OLD:NEW (renamed to "IRON"):Also you may have noticed the new sprite for Miss Paint!… that one’s a work in progress, we’re still roughing out some edges, but it’s almost done! SO WHAT THE DARN IS TAKING SO LONG?!Making the game, but we should probably give an update on how that’s going.Bad news first: Remember how we said that we “tentatively plan to release the game in 2026”? Well, that’s looking pretty tentative. Most likely the 2026 release date isn’t going to happen. Good news second:Progress is going swimmingly! Since some of us are in school and have jobs and lives, progress has always been on and off with this project. But since we’re getting close to actually finishing this darn thing, progress has been picking up A LOT. We’re happy to say that we have finished the first section of the game, which is comprised of 88 levels. So to answer the question “what the darn is taking so long?!” We plan...

Twice Twice Newsletter - December 2025

Hey y’all,We were going to make this newsletter earlier, but we didn’t! We’re really excited to tell you about some of the updates we’re making to Miss Paint.MISS PAINTThis game started all the way back in December 2023 at the BIGMODE Game Jam. If you’ve done a game jam before, you should know that when you only have a few days to write code, you sometimes are left with a steaming hot pile of spaghetti. When we decided to finish the game originally, we unwisely chose to build a house on top of that pile of spaghetti. Lesson to any aspiring game devs who want to continue a game past a jam: just make a new project. Don’t wait 7 months like we did.So yeah, we had to reprogram the entire game from scratch since the demo released. However, even with that setback, we are now much further along in development than we were before.Pop-up Windows?!?Those of you who messed around with the popup in the demo might remember how it didn’t exactly work fully. We shoehorned that feature into the demo at the last minute. But with the new version of the game, we’ve been building everything around this mechanic. Which means it now works fully with every other mechanic in the game. We’ve been building some puzzles with them and they’ve blown the doors wide open for what this game can do. So get ready to dust off the ol’ thinking cap! New ToolsAre you guys ready for all the brand-spanking-new tools we made? Too bad! We’re only showing you one of them! The Fill ToolIntroducing the Fill Tool. It’s a fill bucket, you know what this is, you’ve used it before. And now Miss Paint can use it too!Meet ClampyThis is Clampy, your friendly DoorsOS Helper! Actually, ew. That’s an old version of him, conceptualized way back during the game jam.Ah, much better. Thankfully, using the power of us remembering where we put the Blender files, he’s back! His job is to tell you how to help you be creative! Just in case you try to do it wrong!NEW STEAM ART!WOAH! Check out this awesome art @dreweyes made for our ...
