January in Jobsworth
FROM THE DESK OF THE JOBSWORTH PARISH COUNCIL {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44868486/2d321a6d7c40dd18c105d54720d00700636a56ab.png A Message from Cllr Joe Frame Hi everyone! How are you all doing? What a 2025 it’s been so far, the village of Jobsworth seems to be going from strength to strength. Granted, the start of the year hasn’t been without its challenges. We all felt the the pain when a crucial telegraph pole collapsed causing a major mobile network outage for over a week, but not to worry! It’s been all fixed and I type this to you now with all four bars! In the spirit of dry January and New Years resolutions, I’ve decided to kill two birds with one stone (something that would get you a lifetime ban from the Jobsworth Wetlands) and undertake a water fast. I read about the concept of water fasting after briefly scanning the headline of an article in "Men’s Health". I’m happy to report for 30 days now I’ve had ZERO water. Instead, I’m relying on a careful balancing act of soft drinks, alcohol, and caffeinated beverages to ensure my hydration is appropriate and my energy levels don’t dip too high or too low. I’ve recorded my routine from this past Monday in detail so any of you who might want to give this a try can do so: MORNING - I wake up, immediately make and drink black coffee. I have breakfast (2 boiled eggs) with a big glass of Tropicana (no bits) and we’re off to the races. 10:30AM - I start getting pretty thirsty at this point but not a problem. I order a large caffe latte from the integrated Wild Bean Cafe at the BP Garage. It’s heavy milk to coffee ratio is bound to keep my well hydrated enough to serve the people of this great village. LUNCH - First pint of the day - just a light ale so I can keep my mind sharp during the tough negotiations with the Heartinglye Borough Council ahead. POST LUNCH - I sit at my desk with a big can of Monster Energy, ready to set the world to rights. 2PM to 2:10PM - I’ve found I’ve needed to allocate a decent 10 minutes for what...Read full article on Community Announcements (Joe Frame)Patch NotesOfficial
End of the year Jobsworth village update
FROM THE DESK OF THE JOBSWORTH PARISH COUNCIL {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44868486/2d321a6d7c40dd18c105d54720d00700636a56ab.png A Message from Cllr Joe Frame A belated happy holidays to all the Jobsworth residents reading this! By the time this arrives in your inboxes, we will firmly be in the year 2025. I, and indeed everyone else at the parish council, hope you all had an incredibly relaxing and joyful holiday season. We’ve got a cracking newsletter for you this week with a new “History Corner” feature. It was wonderful to see so many of you at the parish hall for our production of Cinderella by the inimitable Dr Alan Houseman. Such an avant-garde piece of theatre that left jaws on the floor. At one point I think I genuinely saw Terry Carpenter bend over to pick up his dentures! I am aware of a few complaints from parents of youngsters that the panto was surprisingly racy and that there wasn't really any need for so many scenes containing nudity, to which I have replied and will continue to reply "would you tell Picasso to stop messing around with all those funny shapes and just paint something that looks normal"? No, no you would not. Now then, despite being no one at the council's fault, we'd all like to express our sadness at having to cancel the Jobsworth Maker's Market that we advertised so proudly in our last edition. Being a coastal village (and proud of it!) we are subject to some extraordinary weather patterns and it was not to be on that fateful weekend as "Storm Darragh" raged. Rest assured though, we will not be deterred. There will be a Jobsworth Makers Market by Q3 2025 mark my words! In community newsletter software project news, progress has been slow over the holidays as the team at Half Frame have taken a frankly questionably earned winter break. Please be assured though that progress on the project will be as swift - or even swifter - than any council funded project that came before or that is likely to come after. I’d like to thank you all for your cont...Read full article on Community Announcements (Joe Frame)AnnouncementsOfficial
