Not complex

Despite having the feel and look of a classic MMORPG, Knightborn is a multiplayer RPG that aims to offer bite-sized maps and scenarios that can be completed in a single session.
In line with this, the stat and skill system has been shaped within an easily understandable framework.
Simple and clear gameplay
No need for lightning-fast reflexes and complex strategies - just level up, find better equipment, and enjoy the adventure.
Class structure and skills
There are four different classes: Warrior, Mage, Archer, and Paladin.
Each class offers unique skills and playstyle. Class structures are balanced around team play and have different starting stats relative to each other.

What's the current state of development?
Knightborn is advancing full speed towards early access release.
For those interested, there's a playable demo with 2 maps available:
Colony Zone
Offers PvP gameplay where 2 teams compete against each other.
Teams try to collect points to reach the score determined by the host.
Playable with up to 16 players.
Early Access
Knightborn will initially launch with a map I'm currently calling Defense.
This map offers both co-op and solo gameplay. Our goal is to defend our tower from waves of enemies.
In the map, which features different quests, equipment, and enemies, you can develop your character and hire friendly warriors to help defend the tower.
After Early Access
Following that, I aim to continue the life cycle with different modes and maps based on feedback from the existing content.
Frequently Asked Questions
What technologies are you using?
Engine: Unity
Networking: Unity Mirror Networking
Steam SDK: Facepunch.Steamworks
Other tools: Blender, Aseprite, Affinity Designer, KritaYou mention MMO everywhere, I'm confused. Is this an MMO?
The MMORPG reference is used because the player controls and the games that inspired this gameplay are of this style. Any player can host a game and play with friends or solo offline.Did you make everything visible on screen?
No. As a solo developer, my priority is game mechanics, level design and features. I outsource visual assets carefully without breaking the art style or performance. Why isn't there a language option?
Knightborn will launch in early access. Creating the infrastructure to offer different language options requires significant work. I decided to wait and see what kind of demand develops before adding this to the to-do list.

The Comeback: Knightborn Returns Stronger
Hi again, it’s me, cemuka! It’s been a long while since the last update for Knightborn. After pushing forward for nearly ten years, I hit burnout and had to take a step back. I tried returning a few times, but it just didn’t click. It took months to recharge — but I’m happy to say I’m finally feeling excited again about creating and working on what I love most. The darkest days are behind me, and I feel productive and enthusiastic again — almost like I’ve just started Knightborn for the first time.🎨 New Steam Capsule ArtworkI’m thrilled to reveal Knightborn’s new store artwork, created by Giovanni Fim. An awesome artist who also worked on the store art for Megabonk ^^ I’m really happy with how it turned out — it looks great and gives the project a fresh look.🌟 A New Demo in ProgressThe first playable demo launched during Next Fest, which helped a lot with wishlist growth and player feedback. Since then, Knightborn’s mechanics have evolved based on what I learned from that version. Now, I’m preparing a new demo to give everyone a better feel for Knightborn’s gameplay. It’ll feature a short map where you can team up for quests — or even fight each other in PvP.⚒️ Crafting SystemCrafting is one of the features I’ve always wanted to implement and show off in the demo.Right now, the crafting panel is still a placeholder while I finalize the system. An item upgrade/enchantment system is also on my list — it’s one of my favorite mechanics — but I’ll introduce that later after I test crafting in action.🛡️ Item Class RestrictionsItems can now specify which player classes are allowed to equip them. For example, you can have a “Warrior Only” set of equipment.I’ve also been experimenting with level requirements, though that part isn’t finalized yet.💎 Item Pickup LabelsNow, you can see item info before picking it up — no more guessing what’s on the ground!🌲 Tree Collisions & NavigationPreviously, trees didn’t affect navigation. Unity’s terrain system doesn’t support this by default,...Read full article on Community Announcements (Lunar Clan)Patch NotesOfficial
