UPDATE IS ALREADY AVAILABLE 0.11
Hello everyone We are glad to inform you that we have finally released the long-awaited update. There was silence for half a year for a reason, we actively worked and reworked the game. Now Beetle Nest is a 3rd person shooter, the whole game has been rethought by us and taken to a new level. The entire general technical base is ready, now we will fix bugs, add new content and expand the game. Now about what has been done: - All models and textures have been changed; - Completely redesigned lighting; - Changed the basic mechanics of the character, now everything is from the 3rd person; - Added transport; - All buildings have been changed and new ones have been added; - New AI for all enemies; - Added a new pirate faction; - All enemies are now always on the map, they do not disappear anywhere, they are at enmity with each other and interfere with you; - Geometry rendering is now entirely on the graphics card; - Added RTX support; - New technology of virtual shadows and textures; - Multithreaded rendering; - No LOD and rendering range, all characters and objects can always be seen, even if you are very far away; - Time of day system; - Volumetric clouds; - A new economic system with an exchange and resource extraction; - The exchange works in real time and is always updated, your actions directly affect the exchange rate; - All resources now have physical objects, they need to be collected and delivered; - New inertial animations for the character; - ... And much more. We will gradually post posts about the new update, as there is a lot of content.Read full article on Community Announcements (ahlestin)Patch NotesOfficial
DEVELOPMENT OF UPDATE 0.11
Major changes: - Biomass has been removed; - Added a resource exchange; - The method of obtaining crystals has been changed; - The exchange post has been removed; - Added the "Local Farm" building; - The construction of the "Mine" has been changed and redesigned. The economic system has undergone significant changes. Now enemies do not provide resources, and materials for improvements and exchange can be found in the world. The materials themselves can only be moved by means of transport, which has loading and unloading drones. After collecting resources, they must be delivered to the nearest outpost, which has a reactor. There is a special unloading area at the outpost, from where your resources will be picked up by a delivery ship and transported to the main station. Now you can get money in several ways. The easiest way is to complete some kind of cleanup or search task. But the most profitable will be the collection and processing of resources from local farms, which are different on each planet. Crystals for improvements are now mined only in mines and do not appear in clusters. The mines yield crates of crystals at the exit, which will also need to be transported to the outpost to conserve resources. In the future, the economic system will be improved and supplemented. Further development will be aimed at fighting for resources with local inhabitants.Read full article on Community Announcements (ahlestin)Patch NotesOfficial
DEVELOPMENT OF UPDATE 0.11
There have been no posts for a long time. But this is due to a lot of added and recycled gameplay elements, mechanics, and more. The update will be released very soon, even before the end of the summer sale. Now I am preparing and assembling everything, but not everything was able to be done as planned. The rest of the content will be added every week throughout July. The update size will be about 1.5 gigabytes, which is twice the size of the game itself. A lot has been done, including I have organized a reserve for multiplayer. But again, not everything could be done even in 3 months of development due to the many details. The main feature will be a complete update of the visual part. The system requirements will be increased, but this increase is not based on an empty place. The game now features highly polygonal models, high-resolution textures, infinite drawing range, and support for Path Tracing (still in beta mode. There are small artifacts in the menu). Almost all geometry is now calculated on the video card, each element in the game that you will see has its own real geometry, and is not processed using translucent planes, as is usually done. Every blade of grass, every leaf on the tree is a real geometry. The textures of objects and shadows are now divided into viral maps, which allows you to save a lot of video memory without compromising quality. The navigation system has also been improved, but I do not plan to implement it yet, as I will need to determine the processor load. At the moment, the game has a navigation system from the previous version, but it has been slightly improved due to the static navigation grid. If earlier it was calculated only around the character and the enemies could not move freely around the map, now I will chase you no matter how fast and how far you run, they will always find you. A lot of gameplay mechanics have also been redesigned, but this will be discussed in the following posts.Read full article on Community Announcements (ahlestin)Patch NotesOfficial
Development of update 0.11
Yesterday I finished developing the landscape for the first planet. I thought for a long time why the characters don't really fit into the environment, but then I remembered that this is still space. As a result, I changed the entire color scheme of the environment and changed the approach to vegetation. Maroon, lilac and turquoise colors now prevail. Each planet will have its own recognizable style. I decided to increase the map in size and now it is 16 square kilometers. There used to be 4 squares. There are 11 outposts scattered on the planet, which are randomly generated. In addition to outposts, side buildings were made to help in development and encourage exploration of the planet. There are also plans to add some collectible plant seeds that can be collected on different planets and grown on the ship to produce products from them and sell on the stock exchange. The exchange will be another innovation and will replace the existing economic system with a more interesting one. Outposts will have 5 types of generation: - A new outpost; - An empty outpost; - Destroyed outpost; - An outpost captured by pirates; - A bug-infested outpost. In the case of the new outpost, no action will be required to turn on the protection and reactor. An empty outpost can be reactivated using a generator. The generator will be a small mini-game. If the launch is successful, the turrets on the towers will turn on and all the doors in the buildings will open. But if the launch was unsuccessful, then everything within a radius of 20 kilometers will be destroyed :) A nuclear reactor is not to be trifled with. The destroyed outpost will have a chance to spawn open and whole buildings, inside which you can find weapons or useful resources. Captured outposts can also be reactivated, but this will require them to be cleared of enemies. In the case of pirates, you can take their resources for yourself and send them to the base. Also, do not worry about moving around the map. I have previously...Read full article on Community Announcements (شما همجنسگرا هستی)Patch NotesOfficial
Development of update 0.11
- Beetles are now represented by several subspecies in each of the species. - The types of enemies vary from planet to planet, but the number of species is always limited to two or three (not including special individuals). - Each subspecies will be different due to its abilities. - The appearance of all enemies has now been redesigned. The number of geometries has been increased and all textures have been redrawn. - Beetles now do not appear out of nowhere, but crawl out of their nests. - Nests can always be destroyed completely and get rid of enemies in a certain area. - Nests grow over time, even when the player is not around, this must be taken into account. - The size of the beetles now depends on the nest itself. The size is always individual and affects health, speed and attack. - Removed bio-mass that dropped out of enemies. This element is outdated and will be replaced by other mechanics. These are not all changes regarding bugs, the rest still needs to be tested and worked out to say for sure that they will be in the game. I'll tell you about transport tomorrow.Read full article on Community Announcements (شما همجنسگرا هستی)
