    Jab Got Nerfed

Hey Pilots! We've been hard at work on the new mechs and equipment. No big announcements to share right now, but I want to keep you in the loop! In this post: - Release timeline - Minor demo patch (no new mechs, sorry!) - What is Clobber Games - New gifs/previews of upcoming mechs Welcome new players! We recently had a wave of new players join the alpha. Welcome to the game and thanks for joining us! Please read this guide to get an understanding of the fundamental gameplay mechanics. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the discord. Release timeline You may have noticed the release has been delayed a few times. I'm sorry. Somebody take my keyboard away from me. I need to stop announcing release estimates. My official position is now that it will be released when it's ready. As soon as I can say for sure when this game will be released, I will announce it. Sign up for the newsletter if you don't wanna miss it. Minor demo patch We released a small patch on the alpha/demo today. We did not add any new content or mechs. We simply nerfed Jab into oblivion. Goodbye jab-spam! Demo v0.12: - Grab is now faster than jab. - Reduced jab range to 1. - You now get knocked back if hit while dodging backwards. Clobber Games We're currently undergoing a rebrand from "RJ Arcade" to "Clobber Games". Our new website is at www.clobber.net. We're still the same devs, it's just a new name. I've been meaning to change it for a long time. RJ Arcade was originally my placeholder name, and it implies I'm making this game solo, but that's not true. We're a team of 3! (Not to mention all the help I get from other contributors, friends, family, fellow game developers/publishers, and of course the feedback from you!) WIP stuff Here are some new gifs of the upcoming mechs to be released in the full game. Keep in mind these are a work in progress. They haven't been playtested or balanced yet, and will likely change. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44852909/482bfcc5af05fb8fa56240134abd883387cb55e5.gif...

    Gifs from my folder

Hey Pilots! Sometimes I record gifs while we’re working on new features. I was just looking through my gif folder and thought, why not dump it here? Keep in mind none of these features have been tested or balanced yet, so they will probably change. By the way, I'll occasionally post these in the Discord as I record them. Join us if you want early peeks at what we're working on! It's also a great place to find other players in the Alpha demo. OK, here's a bunch of gifs of WIP content! Hey Pilots! Here’s a progress update for Mecha Simultactics, and a preview of some upcoming mech equipment and features that will be available in the full version. Release DateFirst off, the release has been postponed. Development is progressing well, and there are no roadblocks standing in our way. We simply need more time to work on the game. Hey Pilots! Here's a preview of some upcoming features like new mechs, sudden death, manual practice mode, new combat abilities, and the Mech Creator with Steam Workshop support. This is an early look at features that are still work in progress, so a few things might change between now and release. Also, the alpha was just updated with a new map! Check out the new map here. New Mechs Here's the first batch of mechs planned for release. We want to make a lot of different mechs. So, after release, we plan to add even more mechs. New map: Cliffside (v0.10 Release Notes)

Hey Pilots! We’ve been so busy working on the game I forgot to post news for the past… 5 months?! Rest assured we are still here working very hard, every day. There's a lot to talk about, so I split this update into two parts. In this post I’ll show some of the new things just added to the Alpha. In part two, I'll show a few things we’re working on for the full release (spoiler: new mechs). Release Notes Version 0.10 (Changelog) You can play this update for free in the Mecha Simultactics Alpha. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2898880/Mecha_Simultactics_Alpha New Map - Cliffside That’s right, a smaller map! In Cliffside, running away is far less effective, and the risk of ring-outs adds a new challenge. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44852909/3c52c7db12285c4b6046cdbf0883bf1c8cf90111.png New Ability - Vent Added a new ability, Vent, which repairs your mech and pushes enemies away. This depletes your Guts, so it should only be used in dire moments. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44852909/72803ac83227992f8bd111175d3f5cb88fab41ff.gif Gameplay Changes You can now move instantly after Burst if used defensively, (i.e. while in knockback). You still miss a turn if you raw burst or if your burst is parried. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44852909/48a445e022306545b875513bc7bc529e5f088381.gif Flank attacks now cause knockback even while dodging or attacking. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44852909/f661771d70ab37661053b63b4fb7d6a3d98c4630.gif Jab now pushes enemies away. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44852909/2db0d5e652f4b9e38564558fdd5989b9c0a7a2bb.gif Speed I replaced "Efficacy" with "Speed". The original purpose of efficacy was to provide a simple number for comparing various attacks. However, it seems to cause some confusion... So, to simplify it further, I changed it to "speed" which displays a positive number. The higher the number, the faster the attack. Faster attacks beat slower attacks. I hope this helps! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44852909/9b1ad88e898650387d1b85746dc7604cee6d063a.png {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44852909/121993d2acb41540741...
