Embark on a journey as a traveling surfer across vast open ocean islands, where each break holds secrets to uncover. Dive into an adventure that blends action, exploration, and storytelling with E Marx's Surfers Code.

About this game

So you are surfing at your local break, and you see waves off in the distance. You can’t help but wonder what do those breaks have to offer? Get a jet ski, get a map, talk to locals, and find out.

Explore a chain of tropical islands by foot, boat, and jet ski. Each island has its own break, its own characters, and its own story. If you want to dive deeper into the lore of the islands, explore by foot and interact with locals. If you want to surf, jet ski to a variety of breaks, free surf for high wave scores, or run contests and get on leaderboards. How much you explore or surf is up to you. The world is your oyster, or uh? maybe your turtle.

The lore of the islands get exposed through the interaction with the locals. You will find the pirate captains dilemma, the meaning of surfers code, the shapers secrets, and explore ancient temples, lighthouses, and more as you explore the islands and dodge danger.

The surfing is expression based physics simulation with one button control. Reading the wave and timing your turns is what separates the kooks from the pros. There is no correct way to surf the waves. The wave scoring and leaderboards will keep track of your progress and track your improvement. Both novice and pro players will enjoy the addictive experience of mastering a novel and unique surfing mechanic.

  • Discover new surf breaks across multiple islands, from long point breaks to shifty beach breaks, shallow reefs, and big wave spots.

  • Build your quiver. Boards aren't cosmetic, they change how the wave feels under your feet.

  • Win a jet ski and push out to the outer islands where the real mysteries start.

  • Compete on leaderboards at every break, or just surf for the score of it.

  • Talk to the right people, read the right journals, and the mysteries of the islands start to unravel.

  • It's a surf game with a mystery underneath it. Or a mystery game where you surf your way to the truth. Either way, the waves don’t care what you call it.

FAQ section

Why am I talking to a Seagull?

Answer: I don't know. Go and explore.

Any more questions?

Answer: Uh? No.

You are not bound to one explorer. Choose from a variety of players. But know that each player affects the physics in the game. Change players and change the feel of the game, especially in the surfing.

Don't Surf Alone - Local multiplayer in the works

Surfers Code was designed from the start to be a 4 player local multiplayer exploration and competition surf game and experience.Local multiplayer added too many complicated issues to be implemented on release. But now I went back to implementing it and...It's going really well and is likely to be updated to 4 person split screen multiplayer this summer.4 person split screen includes:4 player scored contestsIndividual exploration1 to 4 players at a timeSteam local multiplayer so you can share with friends that don't have the game with just an email. It's in the works and is actually working for two players. I will need testers and to work out the bugs. There are a ton of bugs right now, so I won't update until it is more presentable.Send me an email if you would like to test at any time. See my profile on the store page for my email or go to the discord. Here's it's current state;I got contests working and the jet skis working, but the UI for the dialogue is not working - it switches from controller to keyboard when talking. ha ha. And a lot of ui stuff is not working.Optimization may be an issue but frarmerate doesn't drop much from what I've been testing so far. But to be sure, get ready with a good powerful computer to play on in case it becomes an issue that I can't fix.
