Embark on a thrilling cyberpunk adventure where each level is a fresh challenge. In The Great Rebellion, your actions shape the outcome as you navigate through dynamic, procedurally generated environments with multiple difficulty settings and an evolving character.

About this game

In this Cyberpunk-inspired run'n'gun-roguelite the world is controlled by technocratic elites who seek digital immortality and transcend their human bodies and they will stop at nothing to achieve their goal.

Fight through randomly generated levels in glorious 16bit-style retro pixel art and listen to an awesome dynamic soundtrack while you blast away robots using one of 60+ weapons. Upgrade your character, find items, unlock allies that will help you and find the spirits of European heroes that will give you special powers. Now it is your turn to join the Great Rebellion!

Immerse yourself in the dystopian Europe of the year 20XX, where the Lucis Lux Mega-Corporation owns everything and the people own nothing. You play the role of Human 10.28, a man who decides he had enough. He doesn't want to be a cog in the soul-destroying system anymore and takes up the fight against a seemingly all-powerful enemy!

DVERGHOLD - Our Oldschool Dungeon Crawler is on Steam now!

When Nintendo banned The Great Rebellion from the eShop, it was a serious blow to us - we put a lot of time and resources into this port and didn't get anything out of it. This put us into a tight spot and we had to come up with a plan fast. But we didn't give up and decided to get another of the games we are working on into a playable state as soon as possible: we will pivot to focusing on our oldschool fantasy dungeon crawler Dverghold primarily and instead of making it mobile first as originally planned, we are going to release the game in Early Access on Steam next year! Steam page NOW LIVE - wishlist now!: 🏔️ Grid-based exploration through haunted dwarven halls ⚔️ Turn-based tactical combat where positioning matters 🏗️ Base building and persistent progression between runs 🎵 Original Dungeon Synth soundtrack by renowned arists Splendorius & Kurald Galain 💀 Challenging hardcore gameplay Early Access launches Q1 2026 with episodic updates throughout the year. Full release planned for beginning 2027. Wishlisting helps us to support the studio after the Nintendo situation. Every wishlist helps us prove there's an audience for uncompromising indie games. The mountain awaits. 🏔️ --- P.S. The Great Rebellion is 70% OFF right now through December 15th. Every sale directly funds DVERGHOLD's development. Thank you for the continued support! 🙏

Nintendo Cancelled The Great Rebellion Switch Port 1 Day Before Release

Our port of The Great Rebellion for the Nintendo Switch console was scheduled for release on November 21st. Then suddenly, Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Europe pulled "The Great Rebellion: Edition 2084" from their eShops - one day before the planned release. We spent money on devkits and for months we worked on bringing The Great Rebellion to Nintendo Switch. We knew the PC version's political themes wouldn't work on Nintendo's platform, so we created "Edition 2084" - a toned-down version focused purely on the cyberpunk dystopia and "technocratic rule" aspect without the overt political and social references. We passed Nintendo's lot check well over a month ago. We got approvals. Store pages went live. People wishlisted it.Nintendo sent this message: "Upon reviewing The Great Rebellion: Edition 2084, Nintendo has determined that it contains content that could be damaging to Nintendo's reputation or brand." One day before release. After months of work and a significant amount of money (for us) invested. Strangely enough, the game is still live and purchasable on the Japanese Nintendo eShop. Same game. Different region. Still available. This is a significant financial blow to our small studio - we invested resources that seem to just be burned away now. We're a small team, and we were counting on this release. Some members of our teams have newborns, I will in fact become a father again in about a week, and this has put us all in a very difficult position. But we're not giving up. Thank You to everyone who bought The Great Rebellion on Steam! Your support and enjoyment of the game is what's kept us going, and it's what will help us survive this setback. We have others games in development: "Serene Estates" with a demo you can play right now and wishlist here on Steam our upcoming oldschool Dungeon Crawler "Dverghold" "Biostition" and of course the sequel to TGR, "Hyper Rebellion That we'll be sharing more about next year. We're going to keep making games. If you...
