About this game

Story mode campaign:
Available in single-player and co-op.
10 story levels featuring diverse combat environments, from dense forests to urban battlegrounds.
3 secret levels with experimental gameplay.
Hard Mode difficulty with randomized spawns and roaming enemy squads.
Simulation Editor and Community Workshop with user created maps (unlocks during the story).
In-game files and emails dynamically react to the outcome of your missions.
Love for tactical gameplay.
Frontline mode:
Level LINE – skirmish trench combat against incoming enemy troops.
Recently released:
Full cooperative mode!
Try not to kill each other while conducting combat operations with friends.
(Pro tip: use a doctrinal approach to small-unit infantry tactics. It works!)
Gameplay
Hardcore real-time tactics focused on realistic simulation of modern firefights guided from the drone.
Take the lead of six brave soldiers, split into four squads: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Echo.
Orchestrate actions of your troops in real-time from the drone flying above the battlefield.
Suppress your enemies and storm their positions.
Use a variety of equipment, such as rocket launchers, bomb drones, and artillery barrages, to break through especially tough defenses.
Avoid casualties.
Use Level Editor and Community Workshop to create your own combat experiences and share them with other drone operators.
Note! This is not a conventional RTS, but hardcore RTT. Never maneuver without suppressive fire — it will never end well.
Story
Your country is invaded. Military organization VEIL invites you to join as a tester for their new drone-based warfare communication system.
You can impact the situation on the battlefield directly from your home PC. Connect to the variety of drones and provide guidance to the troops in the field.
Your squad is equipped with the new generation of combat visors and will be able to receive your direct guidance from the sky.
They put trust in you and will shoot or move wherever you tell them, but be careful and weigh every step, because the price of your mistake is someone’s life.
Meta-Gameplay
Use in-game operation system called VEIL OS to connect to your missions.
Manage emails, install and maintain OS software to make sure you're using up-to-date technology.
Witness eerie events and try to uncover the truth in the conspiracy surrounding your employer, VEIL CORP.
Use help from the outside to affect the fabric of in-game reality and change the outcome of existing events.
Be careful whom you trust.
Use remote environment called VEIL OS to connect to your missions and to navigate through conspiracies in reality-bending meta-gameplay.
Equipment
If the situation is dire, use bomb drone to clean your way.
Or rocket launchers, to find the new ways of resolving tactical puzzles.
Create your own combat experiences and share them with other drone operators in Community Workshop. (You can unlock it during the story).
Witness with your own eyes why modern war is not a Hollywood movie.

Hot Fix - Mission Blow Explosion
Hi. Small fast fix in the middle of the night. Mission BLOW had issues with objective. I hope I fixed that and didn't break anything else (I was deep in finishing Command Drone). If something is broken - use "previous" beta branch and tell me. I will fix asap. UPD: One more update was released to fix some minor obscure issues on all branches. (This update also prepares the build for the Command Drone release).I am here and reading you as always.Thank you for your support and for recent reviews! //DemetriRead full article on Community Announcements (Demetri Lind)AnnouncementsOfficial
Cooperative Story Mode is Live!
Hello! Finally we can play together, and it is much more than a solo game.Cooperative mode added for story campaign (including secret levels).Up to 4 players in one game.More randomized combat with additional spawners and roaming squads.Hard Mode (if you want similar experience in a solo game).Smooth transition between levels with "Continue" button (to keep your party intact)In-game ping and chat functionality for better coordination.Panel house optimizations.Cooperative mode. All levels (including secret levels) are playable in cooperative mode. The need to coordinate with your teammates (especially machine gun fire) makes the tactical aspect of the game incredibly rich - you have to follow the doctrinal way of small unit combat to achieve success. You can search for any ongoing session in JOIN menu.To play on specific level you can open CONNECTIONS tab for this level. If you don't want to appear online - use Private / Public switch in the same menu.If you want to play with friends - adjust maximum number of operators in the settings. My personal recommendation:Try level LOOP with two players - you have to carefully shift machine gun fire one after another, and guide your remaining troops through the openings using bounding overwatch - 10/10!IMPORTANT: To have full coop experience, host must wait for players to join or activate Hard Mode in the settings. You can determine that by looking at other players name in the bottom right corner on the loading screen (if they are grey - wait a bit. White or green - you are good to go.)As soon as the name is white player is considered joined and coop mode is activated.Continue button. If you're dropping into ongoing session - no worries!Host can just press "Continue" after the mission, and your next mission will be full coop. This allows you to keep playing together without recreating the party for each mission.(Yeah, I cheated in the Unreal Editor to make this screenshot - dev privilege).Randomization and roaming enemies aka Hard Mod...Read full article on Community Announcements (Demetri Lind)Patch NotesOfficial
Coop Mode Fixes
Spent last two weeks fixing coop launch issues:No more black screen during transition to level LINE in coop.Mission timer is now correctly synchronized.Ragdolls no longer freeze in standing pose after death.Inventory synchronization has been improved.Charlie's drone ability is available on the client (though manual drone control is not yet supported). Scoreboard for the LINE level is now finalized. From now on, your results will be saved permanently. In case of cooperative completion, mission time is shared between players, but casualties are are tracked individually. What's next Today we celebrate one year since Drone Perspective entered Early Access. That year was mostly focused on perfecting the quality of the base game. Now after the quality has finally reached the desired level, the focus can shift to content expansion. Next stop: Cooperative mode for all levels. Stay tuned! //Demetri PS: Remember - there is no publisher between us. Your reviews make the difference in Steam algorithm and allow me to develop more. I will always be grateful for your support, your trust, and your kind words!Read full article on Community Announcements (Demetri Lind)AnnouncementsOfficial
New co-op level LINE available!
This is massive. Hope you like it.New level with focus on skirmish combat and replayability (code LINE)Co-op mode for 4 players activated for new level (!)In-game chat added (\ by default) Player limit potentially can be removed with -MaxPlayers=X launch parameterSome missing in the multuplayer features will be added in the next updates (about it below).Note: Adding multiplayer is dangerous. However most of the issues are now fixed. If something doesn't work as expected please let me know.Cooperative ModeWe finally can play together!Connection menu allows you to search for ongoing session and join them. If you want to start the game together:New Stage "Press Any Key To Continue" is added to the loading screen, so you can wait for your friends to join you.Note: Session will be created automatically if you are in a public mode.Friends only sessions will be added in the next update.New Level LINEThis level is a part of the "Frontline section" - always available levels unrelated to the main story-line.It is inspired by massive unmanned defense lines meant to slow down the enemy and give rapid reaction forces enough time to respond.Your main goal is to protect the railroad which serves as a lifeline feeding the besieged city. Level offers a lot of trench combat and randomization in enemy attack vectors. AI for this level was slightly improved, however, it still mimics untrained and disorganized troops attacking en masse.In-Game ChatComs in tactical games are important. Therefore in-game chat was a priority.Nothing fancy.Press \ by default, type your message and press Enter, others will see it.VOIP will be added rather soon.I recommend to try it with voice, though. It immediately transforms your room into a combat HQ.Known issuesMost of the issues related to coop are now fixed. Sometimes level doesn't start and ends up on a black screen. Mission time is incorrectly calculated for drop-ins and doesn't respect "Waiting for players" stage. Dead characters sometimes stays in ...Read full article on Community Announcements (Demetri Lind)Patch NotesOfficial
Violence of Action update
This update is based on the community request voiced by Calantlar:"Violence of Action" gameplay is supported:Heavy fire order \ will ignore incoming suppression penalty.Overhead shooting posture was improved.Cover selection logic is made more fluid and responsive.Improvements in navigation mesh prioritization on level PUSH.Violence of ActionThis is a small, but significant change to the game balance and UX. It adds additional depth to the combat and multiplies available playstyles:Classical tactical gameplay with suppression markers and general suppression rules.Intense and responsive single-squad micro-control mode were user input is given high priority.Latter pushes the game closer to the games like Foxhole and even outs your chances in situations where you have only one unit left against many. There will be additional push to balance this mode in PvP. Very likely it will be tied to your units combat experience and bravery stats, but about that later.Until then - enjoy!BonusIf you follow the development you should know that new upcoming level with Coop Multiplayer is available, but hidden inside the game behind the secret code. This map is lacking narrative, but it is highly replayable already. it is quite hard to finish solo, so you will need help from friends. Flow is self explanatory when you see it. The only limitation for the amount of players on this map is a performance of your own PC. Code was mentioned somewhere in Dev Diaries.Good luck!Read full article on Community Announcements (Demetri Lind)
