About this game
A narrative investigation game with a unique atmosphere, blending the spirit of Ace Attorney with the psychological tension of Criminal Minds.
Yep, quite a gap, right?
Become a young FBI agent newly assigned to the field in the heart of New Orleans. In Profiler Files—a narrative investigation game with strong psychological elements—your choices, your instincts, and your analytical skills shape every case. Your decisions influence how the story unfolds, the fate of the characters… and the final outcome.
The way you interact with characters, the clues you uncover at crime scenes, and the psychological profiling you conduct on suspects, victims, and other protagonists—all of it determines how the story progresses, whether each investigation succeeds or fails… and ultimately, how the main overarching plot of Profiler Files concludes.
Interactive investigations & branching narrative — Multiple-choice dialogues, diverging story paths, and several possible endings deliver a highly replayable narrative experience.
Point-and-click investigation — Explore detailed crime scenes, gather evidence, interrogate key characters, and reconstruct the sequence of events behind each mystery.
Profiling & psychological deductions — Analyze behaviors, read between the lines, and apply behavioral insights to break down each suspect’s motivations.
Wild humor & memorable characters — Encounter a cast of eccentric personalities in an adventure that mixes offbeat comedy with tense, dramatic crime thriller elements.
Profiler Files – New Orleans blends narrative adventure, point-and-click investigation, and visual novel storytelling into a single experience.
Its combination of humor, mystery, drama, and psychology ensures that every playthrough feels fresh and uniquely yours.

Profiler's Log #4: Unexpected Joys
I know, I know, it's been a while since I last dropped you a line, sorry about that. To make it up to you, let me tell you a bit about how I work on Profiler Files. You probably know this already, but every creative process is paved with pitfalls and surprises, quite a few of them self-inflicted — at least in my case. The pace of progress, especially when writing dialogue and jokes, is anything but steady. You can prepare a nice, detailed synopsis, know exactly where you're going and how to get there, and it still goes off the rails most of the time. Right in the middle of a scene you've carefully prepared and planned, a spontaneous idea pops up and turns all that neat preparation upside down. Sometimes it goes away just as fast, once you think about it a bit and realize, no, that doesn't work. But sometimes it works so well that you HAVE to include it. Even if it means reworking a bunch of other stuff, already done or still to come. Why put yourself through that extra work? Simple: for you.Well, a bit for myself too, honestly, because as a player, I think I'd love for that to happen during my own playthrough. And if it's great for the player, then it has to be there. No matter how much work it takes. No matter if only 5% of players will ever see it. No matter if it took forever to set up and only amounts to 5 seconds of gameplay.I really am dying to give you examples, but that would mean spoiling things for you. So for now, I have to stay vague (but we'll be able to talk about it freely once the game is out, on the Profiler Files forum, I promise). So just tuck this away somewhere in the back of your mind, so it comes back to you when you stumble on it while playing. Right now, it means nothing to you, but in the moment, there's a good chance it'll click:An object to click on during a search where you think "It'd be so great if this were usable." Roadmap update!
Hey everyone! And that's another one in the bag! We just finished the final lock on Episode 6, which means we’re moving into an intense testing phase for this new chapter while simultaneously prepping the next one.Checking all the narrative branches and variations is pretty complex on this new episode, since it has the most ramifications and different endings we've done so far. As always, there are no dead ends, but you can definitely expect different consequences depending on the outcome you reach. We're getting closer and closer to the Early Access launch, which is still on track for this year. Who knows, maybe we'll even drop it in November, just to steal GTA 6's thunder 😊Read full article on Community Announcements (d.choquet)AnnouncementsOfficial
Have you met Vince?
Hey, everyone, Just a quick update from the development front — Episode 6 is almost done — we still have to craft carefully its different outcomes and wrap up the last details.
