About this game
The Story So Far...
The Crim, a formidable faction of bandits and cultists, wreak havoc across the land, inching closer to your homeland with every passing day. Your father, a renowned scholar of magical artifacts, departed on a quest in search of an artifact rumored to possess unparalleled power capable of halting the Crim's relentless march.Weeks have elapsed since his departure, and rumors abound that the Crim have halted their advance momentarily, trailing your father into the depths of ancient woods in pursuit of the same artifact. Now, compelled by duty and urgency, you must embark on a perilous journey to locate your father and secure the artifact, the Lyre, before the Crim seize it.
Gameplay:
The Crimson Lyre is an RPG with loot, skills, and plenty of lore to discover. Play it your way with multiple solutions to problems:Are you a stealthy character that slips past obstacles?
Do you face challenges head on with a sword?
Or perhaps a more subtle approach thinking your way to victory?
It's up to you, and in any game you aren't limited to one approach. Try all of the methods, or focus on one. The game is about exploration and experimentation.

The Crimson Lyre 1.0
Today the Crimson Lyre leaves Early Access. The Crimson Lyre began as an experiment in atmosphere, exploration, and player freedom. I wanted players to approach situations their own way: stealth, combat, curiosity, or improvisation. I’m proud of what the game became over that time.Version 1.0 represents the most complete vision of The Crimson Lyre so far. That said, this is not necessarily the end. I still care deeply about the world and may continue supporting or expanding the game as time allows and interest grows. At the same time, development has also begun on the next project! I’m excited to share more about that soon.To everyone who played the game, left feedback, reported bugs, posted about it, or simply gave the project a chance...Thank you again for being part of this journey. Holiday Update
Holiday Update Patch Notes!Hey everyone! As we approach the end of 2025 let me start by giving thanks to all of you that have played my game. Making a game as a solo developer is hard but worth it⦠My plan is to continue making games until the wheels fall off and having a community to share them with is a privilege I cherish. Also, this marks the 6 months mark of Early Access for The Crimson Lyre and halfway to 1.0. This month I finished the Lich quest logic, although I might add more lore at different parts of the game for context. I also started a quest that alludes to a secret involving the rubedo achievement - More on that next month. I made some changes to the combat that will I hope make it more engaging. More combat updates would likely involve enemy AI, so that might be difficult. One major change is the addition of a combat health bar for when fights get up close and personal. Detail below:New Content:Quest that starts with freeing someone! (Rubedo)A Christmas celebration in the hub world that will last until the New Year updateA note about the Halloween and Christmas events. I donât know if I will do any more of these moving forward. Each of these took maybe an hour to put together and I did it on a whim. In a future update I will make them accessible based on your PC's clock.Lich Fight secret side quest added Combat updates (Work in Progress):If fighting an enemy and health bar is offscreen, a âcombatâ health bar is addedDash added to swords and axesCamera shake added to enemy hitsBug Fixes:FOV fixed for legacy playersLooking Ahead:CombatAI reviewBlocking reviewEnemy damaged animationsBalancingMore ways to take out the lava golemFixing game over screen so you canât access menuMore armor weapons and loot balancingThanks!-FleeceRead full article on Community Announcements (Fleece_Cardigan)Patch NotesOfficial
