About this game
A project from a one man dev team, MALEDICTOR is a boomer shooter inspired by classics such as Blood, DOOM, and Duke Nukem.
Take the role of the resurrected Clayton in his fight against the Cult of the Maledictor. MALEDICTOR puts an importance on difficult gameplay, high impact weapons, tight movement, and a dark bloody ambience. Avoiding hitscanners, dodging projectiles, evading traps, managing your resources, and committing to an attack are crucial in making it through this boomer shooter where the enemies are as dangerous as you are.
MALEDICTOR features:
Classic FPS atmosphere
Twelve weapons ranging from a 10mm pistol all the way up to an A-10 strafing run
Hand-painted sprite-based gameplay
A unique radio show per non-boss level featuring ghost stories, game trivia, conspiracy theories, history, and more

This month I'll be working on finishing E2M2, starting E2M3, and ideally adding another enemy type.Coming either this month or October there will be a major patch for the game that will add in the changes from this video and the previous dev log. I always want to make sure that patches will feel noticeable so it will have quite a few noticeable additions / adjustments! The changes gone over in this video are:More spritesMore effectsMore bodiesMore modelsSecrets adjustment for E1M4New surface material propertyAdded blood splashes for shooting bloodAdded water splashes for shooting waterMore materialsFixed glass in E1M2 lobbyIncreased hook rangeReduced pistol cultist damageFixed E1M3 wall crackAdded new enemy burning effectImproved blood visibilityFixed concrete wall impactE2M1 lightsE2M1 enemiesFixed enemy spawn direction bugE2M1 pickupsE2M1 ambient soundsE2M1 finishedSMG Cultist shots per burst tweakTouched up E1M4Fixed weapon switch bugTouched up E1M2Touched up E1M5Touched up E1M7E2M2 blocked outE2M2 secretsAdded more story telling for protagRead full article on Community Announcements (perochialjoe)AnnouncementsOfficial
Dev Log 40
The first post-EArelease update!A quick disclaimer for people who haven't seen one of my dev update videos before:These are released on the first Monday of every month and are meant to show what I have been working on. I want patches to have enough content in them so that they feel meaningful but I don't want you to have to go through months of silence wondering if development on the game has stopped. So I make these monthly dev logs to show the changes / progress made and explain them. Because I am the only person working on MALEDICTOR I am prioritizing working on the game over putting higher production value into these videos. They aren't edited down so they can be a bit long sometimes and I don't write a script so I can ramble a bit. These are all changes made from 6 July - 3 Aug, so some of these changes are already in the game while others are going to appear in future patches.Added more achievementsFixed weapon select bugImproved menu navigationImproved weapon selectAdded scrolling spritesGame released in Early AccessRemoved another emitterCorrected RU LocalizationAdded clarity to multi-switchesFixed E1M6 attic window being breakableMoved E1M5 enemy spawn trigger to make more senseDestructibles will no longer bleedResized menu elementE1M5 now has secretsRestarting too fast no longer makes you stay deadFixed a bug preventing achievements from workingAdded deadzones to help controllers with stick driftIncreased maximum volume levelsProgress on E2M1Added icon to Twitch.TVSmall additions to E1M1More spritesMade burning and bleeding effects more noticeableFixed bowling game bugFixed TV collision bugFixed adrenaline bug with new weaponsFixed door collision bugAdded new collision channelFixed audio duckingFixed radio occlusionRestructured weapon firing codeIncreased blood impact size on E1 bossMore modelsMore materialsFixed TV audio bugRead full article on Community Announcements (perochialjoe)Patch NotesOfficial

And now for the hotfix I promised for audio ducking!....it's this one ːlunar2019deadpanpigːFixesAudio ducking now works in the packaged build- radio shows and arcade game music should be much easier to hear nowRadio audio occlusion caused a bug that made it much quieter than it should have been. It has been removed which also helps with hearing the radio showsAdded a new collision channel specifically for interaction collision boxes to prevent issues like the E1M1 gate from blocking molotovs while it was openRead full article on Community Announcements (perochialjoe)Patch NotesOfficial
EA 0.10.1 Patch 1
Okay now the game has its first actual patch.I wanted to wait a little bit longer so I could release a patch with more to it but there was a bug that was too important to fix. So instead of a patch it's more like a bug fix with some minor additions.GameplaySlight adjustments to the house in E1M1GraphicsAdded extra decoration spritesMade bleeding and burning DOT (damage over time) effects more noticeableAudioIncreased maximum volume levels from 200% to 300%Increased player character voice volume by 15%Increased radio volume by 20%Bug FixesThe Providence Key indicator in E1M1 is no longer hidden inside the shack wallFixed the bowling minigame breaking on the 10th frameAdded a failsafe to the bowling minigame (if it for some reason won't cycle the pins, just wait)Fixed a collision issue with TVsUsing adrenaline with the Peccary, Judgement, and Umpire no longer breaks your weaponsKnown BugsAudio ducking during arcade games and radio shows doesn't work in the packaged gameI'll be working on fixing the audio ducking issue pretty much immediately so expect a hotfix for that to be coming very soon. It should fix an issue that some people were having with hearing the radio shows. I'd have included it here but I felt that fixing the adrenaline issue with the secondary pistol, shotgun, and SMG should be done immediately.Read full article on Community Announcements (perochialjoe)Patch NotesOfficial
EA 0.10.1 Hotfix #2
Now for the hotfix of the hotfix. Technically the hotfix of the hotfix of the hotfix...Achievements were unlocking a little too well before to the point that the kill milestone achievements were actually unlocking without actually getting the amount of kills needed. That should be fixed now.And now for the hotfix of the hotfix of the hotfix of the hotfix...Stick drift was very obvious and could make certain controllers unusable. Deadzones have now been added that should allow controllers with certain amounts of drift to function correctly. I still recommend hall effect sticks, though!Read full article on Community Announcements (perochialjoe)
