About this game
Your journey through the cosmos begins at your own pace.
Astrosphere is a relaxed sci-fi strategy game about exploration, station building, and slowly expanding your presence in space. You are not commanding a frantic war fleet. Instead, you develop your own space station step by step, design custom ships, and set out on expeditions into unknown star systems.
Explore distant sectors, gather valuable resources, discover anomalies, and bring your findings safely back to your station. Every journey expands your options: new technologies, improved systems, stronger ships, and more control over your path through the galaxy.
Main Features:
Build and expand your space station
Add new modules, improve your systems, and turn your station into your personal home among the stars. Your station is not just a menu screen — it is the center of your progress between expeditions.Design your own spaceships
Create and improve ships that match your playstyle. Customize systems, equipment, and functions so your ships better support your goals: exploring, gathering, surviving, and reaching deeper into space.Explore procedural star systems
Travel to unknown sectors, scan objects, find resources, and uncover what lies hidden in deep space. Astrosphere focuses on the feeling that there is always one more place to discover.Gather resources and research new technologies
Use your expeditions to collect metals, crystals, and other valuable materials. Invest them into research, upgrades, and new possibilities for your station and ships.Play at your own pace
Astrosphere is designed around a calmer flow. You can plan, build, upgrade, and explore without constant pressure. Dangers exist, but the heart of the game lies in discovery, optimization, and steady progress. An atmospheric sci-fi experience
Enjoy the quiet vastness of space, futuristic stations, distant systems, and a presentation that draws you into a calm, mysterious sci-fi world.
A short message from the developer
Hello, I'm Mario, the solo developer behind Astrosphere.
My path into game development is a little unusual. Before I began programming my own universes, I worked in international fine dining, in five-star hotels, and most recently as a head pastry chef. Patisserie is about absolute precision, the perfect interplay of hundreds of tiny components, and complex handcrafted structures that ultimately come together as a flawless whole. I now bring that same uncompromising attention to detail to game development, directly from my desk here in Tyrol.
My greatest inspiration for Astrosphere is the classic, utopian science-fiction television of the 1980s and 1990s. I have always been fascinated by how logically and thoroughly technology was conceived in some TV universes—from the warp core and life support to the very last power conduit, everything works together. My goal is to establish exactly this technical depth and interconnectedness of systems in my game. I know that many of these minute details are extremely demanding to develop and may not deliver the typical, fast-paced "arcade fun." But this authenticity matters enormously to me. I am building Astrosphere for players who, like me, appreciate knowing that a genuinely well-considered, logical technical architecture is working behind the user interface.
As a solo developer, I do not have the budget of a huge studio, but I do have the complete freedom to create exactly this uncompromising niche experience. If you love deep systems and would like to accompany an indie dream on its journey through Early Access: Welcome aboard. Let's build something great together!

Astrosphere v0.42 – Shield Doctrine
v0.42 introduces a three-layer defense system of shield, armor and hull on ships and stations, alongside procedural NPC loadouts, armed sector stations and an overhauled hostile detection in the sector map and minimap.NewThree-layer defense system for ships: damage hits the shield first, then the armor, and finally the hull. Excess damage is immediately passed on to the next layer. Shield and armor systems use existing primary system slots; ships without these systems have 0 maximum points while all three bars remain visible.Three armor systems with world blueprints: three passive primary systems without MK tiers, fully researchable and installable.Three shield systems with research and blueprints: the new primary system generators smallShield, mediumShield and largeShield, analogous to the armor systems.Destructible and armed sector stations: the 11 normal and 7 exotic inhabited sector stations become independent prefab variants with fixed station system loadouts. Each station has very high hull values, dedicated armor, shield and weapon slots, fights pirates on its own and returns fire. Home station and abandoned station remain unchanged. ChangesThreat-based NPC ship templates and procedural systems: the previous finished civilian and pirate combination prefabs are removed from the active spawn flow. Each hull now has a clean NPC template without hard-built systems; threat profiles pick the hull, and the shared ship system manager then installs a complete, energy-valid slot loadout. UI / UXRed display of hostile ships and stations on the sector map and minimap: hostility is read uniformly from HostileObject. Whenever a ship or station becomes hostile, the object list, minimap, sector map and world name update automatically. Neutral objects keep their previous colors.Short-range scanner layout adjusted: contents are no longer cut off.Selected sector object is pinned to the top of the list. Astrosphere v0.41 – Precision Pulse
A smaller update with a new weapon, more robust saves and two fixed bugs.NewPrecision Laser – new ship weapon: a highly focused blue-turquoise laser with short, precise beam pulses for combat at extreme range. It deals devastating damage but requires exceptional energy and long charge times.ImprovementsThe save system has been improved.BugfixesMining bug fixed: items added during an active mining operation are now safely registered, their mining duration is added to the ongoing operation, and progress counters are only increased on a successful extraction. Astrosphere v0.40 – Blueprint Signals
Update v0.40 expands the object list and short-range sensor with new blueprint, scan, and action features. Blueprint drops have also been stabilized, the number of timed civilian ship spawns has been capped, and all ship system graphics have been unified. NewBlueprints are now displayed in the object list of the objects UI window. The object list now supports direct attack and scan actions for suitable targets.A new icon button allows scanning an object directly from the object list. The short-range sensor window can now be opened manually at any time via its own button. ChangesThe rarity of a blueprint in the short-range sensor is now shown using the existing localized UI labels instead of the English internal enum name.Timed civilian ship spawns are now capped sector-wide at a maximum of twelve ships. The limit applies jointly to all active spawners.Destroyed or despawned civilian ships automatically free up their slot in the sector-wide limit. GraphicsAll ship system sprites have been reworked and brought into a unified visual design. UI / UXAction icons of an entry in the object list are only shown when the corresponding action is available for the target. The spaceship warning icon in the home sector now has a localized tooltip.Blueprint entries in the short-range scanner list now have their own tooltip. ImprovementsBlueprint drops are now selected reliably by their source ID and no longer depend on the regularly reset Unity random seed.As a result, all 800 blueprint templates can now be selected reliably as a drop. The sector-wide limit for civilian ships is fully compatible with existing save data.Already generated blueprint entries remain unchanged. The new selection process only applies to future blueprint drops.Read full article on Community Announcements (Mario Jacob)AnnouncementsOfficial
v0.39: New key bindings, better performance & many improvements

Gameplay improvements Pirate chase reworked Pirates no longer pursue their goals almost indefinitely. You can now cancel a hunt more reliably. In addition, pirates can be deliberately lured into the vicinity of civilian ships and thereby distracted.
