Guide plant citizens and defend your settlement against robots in Green Again, a casual strategy game where you build, decorate, and explore.

About this game

Green Again is a feel-good blend between a farming game and a colony simulation game. Set out in a colorful, hand-drawn sci-fi world inhabited by tiny plant people called Sproutlings. After the previous inhabitants of the planet created a terraforming AI and caused an ecological catastrophe, most of the planet is now barren and overrun with malfunctioning robots.

Protect this brave civilisation as they overcome their environment and restore the planet to its former green state!

Build and Defend

Construct settlements by terraforming the ground, farming a variety of crops, and defending your farms from stray bots. Unlock better technology and plant the right seeds to perfect your crop rotation and thrive in all kinds of weather. Decorate your colony to make your people happy, and build a variety of turrets to keep them safe from rogue robots. Finally, unlock creative mode and build a colony without limits!

Explore and Transform

Discover procedurally generated maps covered by fog, just waiting for your sproutlings to inhabit. Reveal the hidden areas to find new decorations, capturable buildings, resources, and more ground for building and planting. But be careful! You might stumble upon a nest of rampaging robots that could be more than you can handle…

Restore the Environment

Use powerful terraforming technology to break through the concrete and metal, and reveal the nature beneath. Send your specialised Sproutling team to clear rubble and industrial debris, turning the wasteland into lush and green terrain to heal your wounded world.

Manage your People

Stay on top of the Sproutlings’ needs by keeping them well fed, but watch out for random events! Between swarms of nano-bots, blizzards, wildfires and more, it takes a lot to keep the Sproutlings safe and happy! Tactically place farms, decor and other buildings while researching more advanced technologies and upgrades to make their life’s work not just important, but enjoyable.

Sproutling Diaries 4: I love Farming!!

Okay. I don't actually love farming, but it's all I've been doing lately. And Dill insists that it's worth writing about in the diary, so what the hell. Sooo, farming. It's how we get all our food! We actually harvest a lot more produce than we end up eating, so there's always some of it going to the market to get traded with the other regions. That way, we can fund some infrastructure upgrades, and keep our base in top condition, even in the face of robots or poor weather.Speaking of weather, that's a big thing with farming. Produce is seasonal, so we have to keep rotating it throughout the year to keep the food supply up. Until recently, having enough food to last through winter was a big issue (no crops grow in winter, turns out), but we just got some new tech that lets us climate control some of our crops, so hopefully that's a thing of the past!Oh yeah, some produce also sells for more money. The whole food to money ratio is a pretty delicate balance, and it gets adjusted every so often. I'm glad not to be in charge of that! Between that and the whole weather ordeal, we actually end up rotating through crops a lot. Back in Town, some folks just had bell peppers on year-round, but can you imagine eating nothing but peppers? Blegh. Not only that, but it put a dent in the rest of the supply. Farms work better the more farms of the same type are in a row, since you can take care of them easier. Breaking the line, for bell peppers of all things, just doesn't make sense to me!Anyways, I reckon that's probably enough farming chat. It's a bit mundane in the grand scheme of things, but having to consider everything that goes into it kind of makes me appreciate it more, weirdly enough.

Sproutling Diaries 3: Our Beautiful World

Okay, so this week was even less eventful than the last one. I was on farming duty the whole time, and it's not like I can write about that, right? So, since I can't think of anything better, I guess I'll write about home. But not just my own comfy home back in Town. I should write about the world. Our planet. I wish I could have seen it before Reshaper ruined it. Well, that's not very fair. We ruined it. We built Reshaper, gave it free reign to mold the world as it saw fit. And we weren't thorough enough to make sure its plans didn't involve the destruction of organic life. It sounds silly when you put it like that, but hey, that was before my time. Maybe if Mulberry had been around then, we could've avoided the apocalypse?Anyways, it got ruined. Even Town, the zone where I'm from, has got robots rampaging all over the place. At least it still has rain and suitable farmland... it's more than some of the others can boast.Junkyard, the zone where we're in now, is full of scrap metal and other junk. Removing all of it is taking a lot of effort, as well as some specialised tools. As if that weren't enough, there's also more threatening robots here. I've been seeing these big "jellyfish" looking ones looming in the distance, but thankfully every time they got close to town an EMP blast was enough to steer them away.I've heard of other, even more dangerous zones as well. We saw an expedition pass by a few weeks ago, who were coming back from the Forge zone. It sounded like hell. No rain, no water, and factories that are constantly spewing out fire and robots? No thank you. And then there's the Swamp zone, with poisonous goo and toxic gases? There's even rumours of a robot that acts like a plant, but I refuse to believe it. Plants are sacred, there's no way robots could replicate that. And finally, the Core. They say it used to be large, sprawling sproutling cities. Nowadays it's just desolate, bleached landscape, with Reshaper's ominous tower sticking out from the middle. Y...

    Sproutling Diaries 2: Totally Towerful!

So... It's been a few days since the last entry, and things have been going surprisingly well. Dill said I should also write some things in here even when nothing's going wrong, just so I don't associate this diary with just disasters, so here goes.I spent most of last week on tower maintenance, with Dandelion and Edamame. The power grid was stable (for once) so we were focusing on shoring up our defenses. Since we established our base next to a mountain to the North, we only needed to check up on the South, West and East flanks. The East flank, past all the farms, was where we checked first. There's always bot attacks going on on that side, what with all the worm robots going for the food supply. Thankfully, the farms are well defended with a line of EMP towers, which are great for clearing swarms of small robots. All seemed good on that front, so we moved on.I usually hated going to the South side, because that was where the flying drones were coming from. If you're not ready for them, they swoop in, and bam, you're back to a soul seed. Lucky for us, the light towers were fully operational, and even though we saw one make a beeline for Ed, it got shot down before doing any harm. Dandy pointed out that some of the towers were a bit worn around the base (probably the work of crawler mines), so we built an EMP tower to reinforce them and keep it at bay. That should sort it, fingers crossed. The Western side was... concerning. The towers were holding strong, but we saw some steel tiles that I could've sworn weren't there before. If a bot managed to get in range and get them down, that would mean that the EMP towers weren't enough to stop it. We built some extra ones to be safe, but I'm not super confident. I hope we're able to upgrade them somehow. And that was... everything. Right, I'll need to remember to keep updating these. Mulberry out!
