In Floralis, navigate the dangers of a sentient plant-ruled world by hiding from predators and reawakening machines. Unravel the mystery of your birth through intricate puzzles in this action-adventure game from SolidCore Games.

About this game

Floralis is a narrative-driven puzzle platformer set in a world where plants have evolved into predators. You play as one of two sisters grown from the same tree. When your twin disappears, you must cross the living jungle to find her.

You will hide from predators, explore ruins, reactivate mysterious objects, and discover small, personal moments of joy. As you piece together what happened to the old world, you will come to realize the truth of your birth — and your place in the new ecosystem.

WELCOME TO THE SENTIENT JUNGLE

  • You’re a fragile new lifeform, and everything wants to eat you

  • Carnivorous plants use bioluminescence to bait their prey

  • Hide, sneak or run for your life if you don’t want to become fertilizer

FIND YOUR OWN PATH

  • Many puzzles across 4-5 hours of story offer multiple solutions

  • Experiment with environment to discover alternative solutions and secret areas

  • Use flora to your advantage — plants can grow and react to light and your actions

TAKE A MOMENT TO PLAY

  • The jungle is filled with forgotten machines, and many of them still work

  • Tinker with objects to open new routes, unlock secrets and trigger hidden cutscenes

  • Those curious machines don’t always serve a purpose but they’re worth discovering

EXPLORE THE GARDEN OF THE END

  • Humanity is gone, but its traces remain buried in roots and moss

  • Pay close attention to clues in the background to piece together the backstory

  • Every clue brings you closer to understanding who you are and the strange reason why you were born

    Floralis went to Gamescom!

First things first: did you have a chance to watch our new trailer and play the updated demo? You did? Good! At the end of August, Floralis made its way to the Games from Ukraine booth at Gamescom, where visitors could get their hands on the demo and take a closer look at our little creepy flower world. It was great to watch people play and see their reactions. Of course, a crowded convention floor isn’t exactly the ideal habitat for Floralis (we much prefer a dark, moist room with no one around). Still, we were happy to see plenty of people get properly engrossed in the game. Thanks to everyone who stopped by, played the demo, and shared their thoughts. We came away with a lot of useful feedback, and we’ll be putting it to work as development continues. More news soon. In the meantime, wishlist Floralis if you haven’t already, and come hang out in our Discord.Fun plant fact of the day: Nepenthes attenboroughii, named after Sir David Attenborough, is a carnivorous pitcher plant with traps large enough to catch surprisingly large prey. In 2012, an expedition found a dead shrew inside one of its pitchers. The plant then spent the following weeks digesting it. SolidCore Games 🌱

    Act II Sneak Peek

Everything we learned wrestling with the atmosphere of Act I went straight into Act II.With Act II we’re targeting a slightly different aesthetic. The game takes you further into what’s left of human civilization, and the world of Floralis becomes moodier, weirder, and more dangerous. Here’s an early look at some of the locations you’ll get to explore:We're not going to say much more about Act II just yet. But as you can see from the last image, the further you are in the jungle, the hungrier it gets…Wishlist FloralisIf you're enjoying the journey so far, please wishlist and follow the game so you don't miss future announcements. Don’t forget you can play the updated demo now, too!If you finished the demo, we’d love to hear what you think. Come hang out in our Discord and help us grow Floralis into something special.Fun plant fact of the day: the Gympie-Gympie or Dendrocnide moroides is a nice little plant that causes such a long-lasting, excruciating pain that it earned it the nickname ‘suicide plant’. Why? Because that’s the way out if you were stung with it.SolidCore Games 🌱

    How Floralis grew between demos

Hi everyone! This week we're showcasing Floralis at the Nordic Game event in Sweden. We wanted to show something special, so we put together a quick side-by-side. This is our first demo and where Floralis is today. The rework has been on our minds a lot over the last few months (see Devlog #2 for more details). It feels good to stop for a second, breathe, and see how far we've come on the journey... …which, of course, is far from over. We’re now hard at work on Act II of the game. Be sure to check out our news next week. We might sneak in a little teaser 😉 Fun plant fact of the day: The ancient Welwitschia mirabilis desert plant lives for over 1,500 years but only ever grows two leaves, which continuously push outward from the base like hair. The smooth, green center is brand new, while the frayed, wind-torn tips trailing across the sand are centuries old. Kind of like game development.SolidCore Games 🌱

Devlog #2: Lighting Befores & Afters

Hi everyone! It’s been five months since our previous devlog, and we’ve spent them buried in working on Floralis. Today we’d like to take a moment to show what’s changed.Let’s step out of the editor for a minute, shall we?Early Levels: The Refinement ContinuesThe setting of Floralis is meant to exist in a very particular kind of tension: strikingly beautiful yet hauntingly dangerous. We want every environment to carry both feelings at once, like a cozy room you don’t want to linger in. Or a flower you’d rather not touch. Our last devlog was about polishing the opening hour of the game. Since then, we’ve done several more passes on the game’s introduction to bring it closer to that vision. Here’s a scene from the tutorial section. The old version was atmospheric enough but it was leaning hard into ‘spooky haunted house’ vibes:We wanted more of the bloom. The sense that nature moved in, made this place its own, and didn’t really care whether you thought it’s spooky or nice:Notice the improved lighting and the much denser foliage. Same room, very different mood. The new lighting work has been on our minds for months, impacting everything we’ve been working on.Here’s another example from a bit later in Act I. You’ll recognize this section if you played our demo:Our initial take on this room was warm and earthy, almost cozy. Which meant it was missing the sense of psychedelic beauty we want to be at the heart of Floralis. The new version is several shades darker, full of glowing plants, with the lighting doing far more work to nail that psychedelic ambiance:Each source of light — the bioluminescence of the hunter plants, the glow of the moon — slashes through the darkness of the jungle, illuminating your path but not making it any easier. This is a visual motif we’re carrying through the whole game:The Greenhouse EvolvesThe deeper we go into sections we haven't shown in the demo, the bigger the changes get. Some of these areas have been almost completely rebuilt from the grou...
