About this game

Intergalactic Defenders is a retro-inspired space shooter combining fast-paced arcade action with rogue-like progression and handcrafted pixel art. If you love classic shoot 'em up (shmup) gameplay with modern upgrades and replayability, this is your next obsession.

The year is 2187. Humanity's colonies are under siege. The alien Caedons have launched a merciless invasion — and you're the United Planetary Alliance's last line of defense. Strap into your starfighter, fight through waves of enemies, and take the battle across the galaxy.

⚔️ Intense Space Combat Engage in adrenaline-fueled top-down shooter battles against swarms of alien enemies, elite squadrons, and devastating bosses.

🎨 Stunning Retro Pixel Art Experience beautifully crafted pixel art visuals that pay homage to the golden age of arcade shooters — reimagined for modern displays.

🌌 Handcrafted Levels with High Replayability Fight through uniquely designed stages, each with distinct challenges, enemy patterns, and story beats. No two runs feel the same.

🚀 Deep Ship Upgrades & Customization Unlock and equip a wide arsenal of weapons, shields, and gadgets. Build your ship to match your playstyle — go full offense, defensive tank, or balanced fighter.

📖 Compelling Sci-Fi Storyline Uncover a gripping narrative as you push deeper into Caedon territory. Every mission brings new revelations about the alien threat and humanity's survival.

🧠 Strategic Decision-Making Make tactical choices during missions that shape the course of the war. Your decisions matter.

Thank You for Supporting My First Ever Game!

Thank You for Supporting My First Ever Game! Hey everyone! It’s been about 1.5 months since the launch of Intergalactic Defenders, my very first game on Steam — and I want to say thank you to everyone who supported, played, shared, and gave feedback. Your feedback means the world to me—it’s shaping the future of this game. If you haven’t already, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the discussions or reviews. And if you like the game, sharing it with your friends would help me more than you can imagine! Known Bugs (thank you for reporting!) Here are some issues that have been reported—I'm actively working to fix them: When opening the Steam Overlay via the controller's home button, the game doesn’t pause. If the controller is unplugged mid-game, the game doesn’t pause automatically. It's possible to completely avoid horizontally moving enemy ships with precise movement. Some players are having issues with fullscreen mode. Some players reported language setting issues. Thanks for catching these! Planned Changes and Improvements Here are some issues that have been reported—I'm actively working to fix them: Many players had a hard time finding the hangar to upgrade the ship. I’ll improve its visibility and also add the hangar to Level 10, before or after the boss fight. I’ll be removing the Chinese language option for now. It was an experiment to reach more players, but the translation had issues, and it didn’t have the intended effect. I’m currently working on adding German, Spanish, and Turkish language support. Later on, I’ll add more languages with help from advanced-level speakers to ensure quality. If you’d like to help with your language, please feel free to reach out! This is just the beginning. Thank you again for being part of this journey. I’m learning, improving, and pushing forward—with you all by my side. Stay tuned, – Mert
