About this game

Brush Burial is a lite immersive sim focused on atmosphere, exploration, and surreal storytelling.
You are Fennel, a lithe and limber thief with a suite of unique movement tricks and combat abilities. You are on a mission that transcends the self-serving crimes of your past--to kill the Witch God Yenneloch, and free the woods of her uncanny influence. In return, your own god has promised you a sacred rite of eternal rest. Unless you have other ideas...

FEATURES:

- abstract and non-linear levels that allow for exploration and satisfying problem-solving.

- meaningful environmental interactions--grab any object you want; play with fire; use the weapons of slain enemies against their allies.

- an expressive movement system with responsive and precise controls.

- raw but complex melee combat which rewards aggression and speed.

- grimy visuals with a dark science-fantasy slant.

- a roguish array of crooks, scoundrels, and miscreants to befriend, beguile, or otherwise.

    a small patch. 3.6.25

finally got around to a few odds and ends i've been losing sleep over. expect the following: - mouse look should be less jittery, for those of you who were experiencing that. - resolution settings should now apply properly. - tutorial text should be easier to read. i say 'should' because i can only account for the changes i tried to make and the limited playtesting i could bother some friends to do for me. if any of this isn't working correctly, feel free to get a hold of me, through whatever channels. that's it. thank you all. 💚 {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44735211/a006ca9b44431e7483a0b65bb6d6dc1969c5a87e.png

    Brush Burial But Better

{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44735211/596294ef12b007b9f1c09a4afeea682d3c4e095a.png A slew of bug fixes and tweaks to make the game more presentable. Most notably: - Fixed the resolution settings not saving when changed - Lessened the much-maligned pixilation effect during gameplay - Reworked the 'Gem Pouch' item to be less buggy - Added several new items to Act 2 to allow for new strategies - Improved the game's soundtrack - Fixed a soft-lock in the tutorial (an important key could fall through the ground) - Act select (post-game) now fully resets the level (but not inventory) - Probably some other stuff I can't remember at the moment. Go poke around and see for yourself :)
