About this game
Five people you barely know have been locked inside a café - and it’s all your fault.
Your first day working at The Familiar - a cosy café in downtown Artifice County - was going quite well. The customers were strange and your boss was a literal cat, but for a minimum wage job, it wasn’t all that bad.
Sadly, you never intended on sticking around.
Not when there was a secret recipe to steal.
The people trapped inside with you are excellent scapegoats to pin your crime on. Gather evidence and build an air-tight case against your chosen culprit - without drawing suspicion and ending up in hot water yourself.
Navigate conversations between a diverse cast of characters to figure out what they know about each other - and how you can use that to your advantage.
Throughout your interrogation, influence the characters’ thoughts and feelings. Call out a bad habit, indulge a flair for the dramatic or play into their façades. Who will you get to spill the beans on their deepest, darkest secrets? Will you befriend, betray, or both? You might even end up finding out more than you bargained for…
Their feelings will influence how they react to your final accusation, but also dictate how they feel about the other characters. Will you leave them better than you found them - or leave a bitter taste in their mouth?
After you’ve gathered your evidence and made your impression on the characters, it’s time to make your accusation. Choose from a total of 15 possible accusation paths and try to convince everyone whodunnit.
Spill The Beans is ripe with replayability - blame, shame and frame to your heart’s content, or maybe even find another way to close the case…

Gayming Pride Parade, Demo Update + Devlog!
Hey there beloved Steam baristas,We can scarcely believe we’re saying this but our chaotic little crime simulator was part of the Gayming Pride Parade at Summer Game Fest! We are beyond grateful to have been given the opportunity to take part in this incredible event alongside a whole host of amazing people, celebrating LGBTQ+ games, developers and creators. If you missed the event then never fear, the full show is available here.As part of the event we showed some brand new footage of an upcoming Spill the Beans evidence route - and we’re super excited to announce that this route is now in the game, and available to play right now in our demo! This route is all about our favourite nonbinary vampire Jessie and their complicated relationship with one of the other scapegoats. So get your (reverse) detective caps on and dive on in because our new demo is now live - we really hope you enjoy!Finally, we know it’s been a while since we last posted an update here - but rest assured we have been working hard on making Spill the Beans the best it can be. We’re only a small team making this game between other jobs and commitments, but we’ve made great progress over the last few months.The writing for the game is currently sitting at around 130,000 words - a lot of which is found in optional dialogue you won't see with just one playthrough. We’ve also outlined the ending of the game and are in the process of bringing it to life! Speaking of which, check out this mock-up of one stage of our accusation UI, courtesy of our amazing UI artist Sophie. We have a finalized list of art assets which will take us up to release, and the music for the game is also coming along beautifully. Our new, improved, updated demo is now live! And alongside it… our Kickstarter! (check it out here)Included in this new demo we have:Investigation mode! Coming Soon: Demo Update & Kickstarter!
Hey there Steam denizens, it's been a little while! We've been busy, working quietly in the background to bring you an updated demo showcasing how investigation works in Spill the Beans. That's right, on 7th July you'll be able to interrogate our scapegoats in two of the fifteen total routes that will be available in the full game - and maybe see where the story takes you on the way! And on the note of updates, we'll also be launching our Kickstarter on that day! This game has been a passion project of ours for the last few years, and we hope to use the Kickstarter to let us dedicate proper time to getting the game over the finish line! Should you back the Kickstarter or help spread awareness, you'll be able to get some fun rewards like new customisation options, an artbook, and even the ability to date one of our NPCs in a special side story (goals willing).
