About this game

Breed, feed, and collect cute Critters in this cozy, relaxing farm sim that is easy to pick up and play for all ages. Critters have complex emotional needs that must be balanced to keep them alive and happy. Critters need to eat, and each species has a unique diet. Discover new Critters by evolving the ones that are present in your garden to complete your Critter Phylogeny! Every Critter’s ancestry can be traced on the grand tree of life – who knows what kinds of great beasts might descend from your humble Slimes?

Get creative! Create distinctive gardens with biome-specific needs and features, including traditional farms, cactus gardens, forests of fruit trees, and more! Unlock research upgrades to enhance the efficiency of your gardening, such as faster tools, quicker Critter breeding, and earning more currency. Paying attention to the specific evolution requirements of Critters and growing conditions of plants will help you check off every task in your journal to achieve 100% completion in growing your collection of life!

Through gardening and crafting recipes, you can create balanced ecosystems across nine unique biomes. From the desert to the arctic, manage your resources and space to support plenty of plant and Critter species. Each plant thrives in specific biomes and on suitable surface conditions! Care for your crops' unique needs, and experiment with different care techniques to see the best results in your harvest. Sow and grow your seeds, feed your Critters, and sell what’s left to purchase unlockable tools, farm layouts, designs, and items that help automate and improve the efficiency of your gardening tasks!

Complete four classic arcade-style mini games to collect all necessary parts required to fix your ship and return home. Throughout your journey, your robot companion will task you with quests filled with lore and valuable rewards. Discover at your own pace why the planet you’ve landed on is devoid of life, along with the deeper and darker secrets your new and mysterious robot companion is hiding.

Patch NotesOfficial
1.0.2
Hi all, -Improved balance to penguin mini-game (reduced move speed and max spawn rate of bats). There was a lot of feedback on the tuning of the difficulty and I hope this tips things in the right direction - please keep the feedback coming if the balance can still be improved! If you are still struggling with any minigames, a "godmode" can be activated pressing the G key. -Added a sensitivity slider option if you are using a controller (if you use a controller, stay tuned because my current major task is slowly building up better controller support) -many minor bug fixes Thanks so much for playing, for your support, and for continued feedback since launch - I think the game is already in a much better place in just under 3 weeks!Read full article on Community Announcements (Minjoinia Studios)Patch NotesOfficial
Patch 1.0.1
Hi all, thanks for everyone who has been enjoying the game and providing feedback and bug reports so far! Here are the updates for this patch: Recipe discovery system! From now on, after you unlock the alchemy station, there is a small chance that a recipe page will drop when harvesting certain crops or Critters. Discovered recipes will be recorded in the stats tab (the blue star) in the journal. Mute buttons for poop and text sounds – Important: If you are a current player, these will be turned on when you start your game after the update. They will save with your other settings accordingly, afterwards. Ability to skip cutscenes Many many many bugfixes (thanks for the patience and assistance in squashing this so far!)Read full article on Community Announcements (Minjoinia Studios)AnnouncementsOfficial
CritterGarden out now!
Hi everyone!CritterGarden 1.0 is officially out! Thank you to everyone who has followed and supported the three year journey up until now, especially those who have playtested and contributed feedback to the game's development. If you're a new player, welcome and thanks for checking the game out! I truly hope you are able to appreciate what I tried to capture by making this game, and that you enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed making it!Here's a roadmap for the game going forward:1.) Bug fixes, balancing/tweaks, QoLThe absolute initial priority, I plan to make sure the current base game is as bug free and fun to play as possible! Please drop by the discord if you encounter any issues or have minor QoL suggestions.2.) Better controller support, console porting, localizationThe next step will be to port the game to other platforms, with a particular focus on a potential mobile release, and Switch 2. This of course will require a better controller interface. If the demand is there, I am also open to pursue localization via translation.3.) Additional contentThere are no concrete plans for additional content, but the longer term stretch goal would be to pursue additional (and fully free) content updates. This could include something like new Critters, plants, objects, or perhaps even separate mini-planets with fresh Critter phylogenies. Have a great day & weekend, DavidRead full article on Community Announcements (Minjoinia Studios)AnnouncementsOfficial

Hi everyone! I am super excited to announce that CritterGarden will be releasing on Friday June 20! The full game will feature 96 Critters to discover, 64 plants to grow, and 32 unique objects to help you grow your planet back to life! I officially started working on CritterGarden in June 2022, so it has been a three year project coming to a close! I'm excited for everyone to experience the full version - for VP fans, I really hope it scratches that itch, and for players new to the genre I hope you discover the joy of creating gardens for your Critters! I will announce more details on the short-term roadmap upon release, but I also really look forward to the reaction and experience of players once the full game is out there. Next Fest halfway point - The big poop update!
Hi everyone, Thanks so much for your support and feedback during Next Fest so far! I'm happy to announce a tiny, but potentially high impact midway update based on the most common feedback I've received so far. Poop can now be collected simply by hovering your cursor over it - no clicks required! Furthermore, you will collect it no matter what tool you have out - it doesn't have to be the hand (I hear our virtual avatar thanks us dearly for this). In addition, I doubled the amount of hard soil around the ship when a new game starts. This effectively doubles the amount of fertilizer you can get at the beginning, as some players expressed they were getting bottle-necked and having to wait for the Critters to do their business early on - I hope this helps that out a bit! (but remember to use this valuable resource wisely, as well as use logs to your advantage ;)) Finally, since Next Fest started, 307 players have tried out the demo, and the median play time increased from 29 to 33 minutes! Amazing! Thanks so much for playing and please keep the feedback coming so I can make this the best game I possibly can! Have a great rest of your week :)Read full article on Community Announcements (Minjonia Studios)
