About this game
TAKE FLIGHT WITH NOVA FORCE
Seren Nova is a top-down retro 3D space shooter with different mission types, two playable ships, live-action FMV cutscenes and a puppet robot.
The Seren Solar System is under attack. Join Nova Force pilot Aderyn as she fights to protect her home planet, Brython, across six different levels.
Destroy enemy forces, recover stolen technology, rescue hostages and transport objects using your ship’s tractor magnet. Choose between the fast fighter with rapid lasers or the heavier bomber armed with powerful missiles.
CHOOSE YOUR SHIP
Before each mission, choose one of two Nova Force ships.
The fighter is fast and agile, with rapid-firing lasers that are useful for getting in and out of danger quickly.
The bomber is slower but stronger, with powerful missiles that can cause heavy damage.
Both ships have a tractor magnet that can lift, carry and drop objects around the level.
SIX DIFFERENT MISSIONS
Each of the six levels has a different location and objective.
You will be asked to search for and destroy enemy targets, recover stolen technology, rescue hostages and carry important objects through dangerous areas.
The tractor magnet can also be used to pick up bombs and drop them onto enemies.
A LIVE-ACTION SCI-FI STORY
Between missions, follow Aderyn’s story through homemade live-action FMV cutscenes inspired by low-budget science-fiction television.
Aderyn may be Nova Force’s best pilot, but protecting billions of lives is difficult enough without Robo, her irritating puppet robot sidekick, getting involved.

Seren Nova Reloaded! Major Update
This is a major update for Seren Nova to try and fix the control system and how the game plays by reworking the controls and simplifying them. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44738593/0965b816e57d2eb33cf1e778315839dd0c842ab8.png We've completely built the control system from the ground up. The ship movement has been reworked from the ground up so it's easier and quicker to turn and move. The ship will automatically aim at enemies on the ground or in the air in front of it. This has also meant that we have removed the button to switch between aiming at the ground and air. This has been replaced by a button you can press down if you want to aim at the ground, although as mentioned the ship will automatically aim at any ground enemies in front of it. While the ship can land to pick up hostages, the pilot can't get out of the ship. We feel that this wasn't really used in the main game and just made things more complicated. The get in and out of ship button has been removed. Other Changes The ship selection screen now shows a little information about the two ships Level 4 (the lunar level) now has less objectives, and you'll only need to deliver two bombs to the building elevators. We've changed and simplified the game screen GUI. We've removed the tractor magenet icon, as we feel it can be seen quiet easily. We've also removed the air-to-air/air-to-ground aiming status icon as this has been removed from the games controls. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44738593/3cb015393e055cfaf0d7fbe6f0b47183400102df.png Fixes Level 4 elevators are more sensitive and detect the bomb on top of it more easily, as previously sometimes they didn't set the bomb off making it very difficult to complete the objective. Small Update 2
Added Xbox Button A as 'accept' on buttons. I changed the first objective of the first mission, so that now you don't have to land and inspect the probe on foot for the next mission objective to appear on the map, as it seemed to have confused some people.
