    DEADCAM | Major Content Update

IMPORTANT: First of all, my sincere apologies for breaking your save files. With this big update, I had to change the original save file's name. This was for two reasons: I needed it to fit the naming scheme, and too many new variables would have made the old saves unusable. This should be a one-time thing, so again, my apologies. Now, before I go into the nitty gritty of all the new stuff, I've created a short video to showcase some of the new changes. For the past month or so, I’ve been working hard on expanding and improving existing features and mechanics. I've listened to feedback and mixed that with my existing plans for the game, resulting in an improved inventory system a new map system and an inspection system. Of course one of the most important improvements is the performance side of the game. File:01 has been given a big performance and optimization pass. I've not yet been able to optimize the survival map but in time that will happen. Performance Optimization Pass & Visual Aesthetic Overhaul {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45309933/f28cf3fb1bf9922084e147f3193546909f8df603.jpg As mentioned, File:01 has undergone a big optimization pass. Now that the map is pretty much finalized I was able to instance a lot of models and reduce draw calls. I also taken a look at lighting and other aspects to further reduce GPU stress. On top of that the visual aesthetic of File:01 has been given an update too. I've attempted to that Japanese feel through color tones and adding some finer details to the VHS feel of the game. I've added a hint of scanlines and screen dirt. The flashlight has also been made more prominent. New Map System {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45309933/3b02cf72f2bb65012c5d2a87d65296c2f3fe61a9.jpg The old map system has been replaced with a completely new one that's much more versatile and robust. The map is now a static image with a clear design. It should now be much easier to navigate the school (and future locations) by going through each section or floor. Map markers and...

    Early Access Update #4, July 18 2025

Patch #4 is quite a big one! I've been at it squashing a number of bugs and further improve aiding the player as to where to go in the form of changing the objective system. There's now a Main Objective and a Secondary Objective. The Katana has also received a big overhaul. Now being able to hit multiple targets with much better hit registration. I've also increased the swing speed so you are now able to slash the girls up a lot faster. The goal is to try and block and then launch a bunch of swings. The girls are now also able to open any (unlocked) door, so no more hiding in rooms. On top of that, I've also refined the spawn system. So far I've not seen anyone spawn where they shouldn't but I did only a single run from start to finish, so I may have missed some stuff. Oh, and the girls received a visual update, they will spawn with slight hair variations! I also added the option to change the weapon rotation speed. So, if you set it to zero, the weapon turns at the same speed as the camera. Now onto the full patch list: Katana Overhaul: You can now hit multiple targets with an increased swing speed and more accurate hit registration and timing. New Weapon Rotation speed option: You're now able to adjust the weapon rotation speed to reduce/adjust visual feedback. Set to zero to rotate at the same speed as the camera. Enemies can now open (unlocked) doors. Spawn system has been updated: Enemies should now spawn where they should. Slightly Increased flashlight brightness Improved enemy response: Enemies respond a lot better now to player attacks. Enemy attacks are now cancelled when hit. When the player blocks an attack it opens up a window for the player to now land multiple hits when using the Katana. Tweaked the girls appearance: The standard school girls now have more defining characteristics, such as different hair styles. Code Input UI soft-lock Fixed: When inputting a code will prevent the player from opening the inventory, or map screen, etc. This prevents the...

    Early Access Update #3, July 12 2025

Hi everyone, I've released another patch/update to the game, including the ability to block enemy attacks with the Katana. I've been listening to some of the requests for this feature. I've tested the mechanic itself and I think it's a welcome addition. I've also reduced some of the enemy health, so encounters should feel more meaningful and less like a drag. These changes have been possible thanks to player feedback. Please let me know what you guys think about the changes! I might still have to tweak some values and try to refine the mechanic some more. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45309933/235782f424f13da9a2132ffaa196f4ec066368b8.jpg Added Katana Block Mechanic: You are now able to block enemy attacks using the Katana. When wielding it, it replaces the aim function (for ranged weapons) to a block function. You can initiate a block at any point, even mid-swing. You will also be able to launch an attack while blocking at any point and cancel the block itself. This allows players to be able to attack and block in a timely manner when engaging in combat. You will still receive a minimal amount of damage while blocking as to ensure this mechanic cannot be abused too much. Added AIM / BLOCK to the key-binding list. (Somehow I forgot to add it.) Tweaked some of the health values for the enemies. This should reduce making enemy encounters feel too long-winded. The demo has been updated to reflect the new changes from the past two patches. I'm also looking into enemies being able to break/cancel your block but for now, at least, players are able to avoid taking damage during encounters. Thank you! Joure

    Early Access Update #2, July 12 2025

Thank you all for your feedback and bug reports, I've been keeping an eye out while I work through fixing bugs and issues and improving overall player experiences! Here's a list of what's been done in this update. Added enemy spawn cool down: I've added a small cool down period for when enemies can spawn. This allows for a bit more exploration time and make encounters a tad less predictable. This will be ignored during the fuse box alarm event. Reduced Katana Girls Spawn Limits: The Katana girls should spawn-in a little less frequent on Easy and normal difficulties. Objective system tweaked / fixed: I've tweaked how the objective system works and also removed the annoying "Keycard" objective bug. Objectives should now appear and disappear properly. Clear File Data is now implemented correctly: Clearing file data should now be working properly, deleting and creating a new empty save for the current selected file. Gym Storage Key Bug Fixed: Fixed a bug where you could use the gym storage key and unlock the sky bridge door directly instead of using the keycard which in doing so would lock the player out of actually unlocking the gym storage room. (This was a left over from early development that I overlooked.) Additional Player Guidance: I've added a few more visual cues (The yellow square) which now appears in a few more places to draw attention to important clues. I've also fixed some minor issues, such as the girl sticking to your Katana when you first pick it up. I'll keep my eyes and ears out for more bugs as I continue work on File-02 and overhauling the inventory system. Please leave a review if you enjoyed the game, it would mean so much! Thank you! Joure
