3Paths will be free to play
The current version of 3Paths is a very different game from the one I released in early access in 2025. Especially with the Path update, it really came into its true form. All of that was a year ago. However, I now realize that no matter how many updates I release, a game based on this concept was never going to sell more than a small number of copies anyway.Even though there are some horror elements, I never classified this game as a horror game.I think that’s where the biggest mistake began. The second mistake was making it a visual novel.Of course, there are still people out there who would play VN, but even if such an audience still exists, I don’t know how to reach them.At the same time, I don’t want a project I’ve put so much effort into to just fade into obscurity. For these reasons, I’ve decided to make the game free. (This transition will take a few weeks)Steam is an ocean. And I’d rather my game be a plank floating on the water that anyone can reach for, rather than a shipwreck at the bottom of the sea.By the way, I’ll still keep updating the game. This project won’t be abandoned.I’ve just given up on trying to make money from it.The experience I gained while developing 3Paths will help me create even more ambitious new games. But until then, we’ll all see where this path takes us.Read full article on Community Announcements (Trturist)Patch NotesOfficial
Assistant Update
Even though it's called “Assistant Update” not much has actually been added to the assistant. But there’s quite a bit of new content:FeaturesRandom starts have been removed. I scrapped the idea. The game now progresses linearly.Different scenes were added based on the choices made. There are a few hundred new lines of dialogue and new effects for some scenes.Different intermediate scenes will appear in the game's first ACT based on the most recently completed route. You will see more of Aurora?I made a few adjustments to the layout of the Aru path. It looks a little neater now. Some bugs have been fixed.Grammar still sucks. This took longer than I expected. It was intended as an update that would focus more content for repeat playthroughs. And since the game isn't selling well, I don't really have any new ideas at the moment.I still don't have enough resources for the new visuals and music the game needs. I've just started learning how to compose music myself, but it'll take a long time to get anywhere with it.I did the best I could with the resources I had. However, too much time has already been spent on this. It's best to focus on other projects for now. I'm going to start a marketing campaign for 3Paths. If I start seeing results, I'll resume with new updates.Thank you for playing.Read full article on Community Announcements (Trturist)Patch NotesOfficial
Fixes (Resolution, Music etc...)
Fixes:I tried to fix the UI issue on 16:10 resolution screens. I went through it scene by scene and I think I’ve fixed most of them. However, since my only reference is the resolution settings provided by Unity, I haven’t been able to test it on an actual device. It shouldn’t cause any issues at this point, but if you still encounter any problems, please let me know in the comments. Some of the sound effects I used for the game weren’t as free as I thought they were. Apparently, some music producers have downloaded free samples from the internet, incorporated them into their own songs, and then copyrighted those songs; as a result, anyone who uses the same sample receives a copyright claim (which is definitely not legal). For this reason, I removed some sound effects, and I’ll try to add custom music to the game in the future.Read full article on Community Announcements (Trturist)Patch NotesOfficial
PATH Update
Kept you waiting, huh? When I first released the game, there were a lot of missing parts, and I wasn’t able to fully capture the style I wanted to convey. That's why I tried to reorganize the game's identity and add a lot of new content. If you’ve been wondering where the updates have been for the past 7, no 8 months, this is the answer. So what was added? The game now has three different routes—or, to put it in a way that does justice to its name, three different “paths.” Actually, most of this update was focused on this route section because the game’s total word count has nearly doubled. You’ll see what I mean when you play it yourself. Each path has its own unique visuals and style. You’re sure to see plenty of new things. Each route also has its own save system. This way, when you return to that route, you’ll be able to use your previous saves. There have been changes to the structure of the scenes. I removed some scenes from the first act of the play. I rearranged some interludes or moved them to different places. But overall, the beginning of the game hasn’t changed much. With the exception of a few secrets, of course. One of the reviews mentioned that the Aru route didn’t reach the final destination. I’ve made quite a few changes to that section, so I hope the same thing doesn’t happen again. One person left a negative review and complained that the story was confusing and nonsensical before refunding the game. I think with this update I’ve made the game even more complicated, so sorry about that.As some of you have pointed out, I’m aware there are spelling mistakes and incorrect words, but there are over 100,000 words in this game, and I can’t keep up with them all. But with this update, I’ve fixed as many as I could find. It will take some time to fix the remaining ones.If you encounter any other issues, you can describe the problem in the “Bug Report” form linked in the game. Or you can post about it on the Steam Community forums. That works too.Final NotesSince the...Read full article on Community Announcements (Trturist)AnnouncementsOfficial
Early Access Release
Since 3Paths is going through an endless development cycle, I decided to release the game as early access.Although I tried to do what I could on my own, the game lacks sprites, CGs and music, and I'm out of money, I'm out of time.Since the total number of wishlists hasn't even reached 1000, I don't think it's right to keep anyone waiting any longer. So I'll focus on new updates and try to make the game better looking over time.Conceptually most of the game is done but the last minute polishing and extras will take a little more time. I'm planning to release the game in August. If nothing goes wrong at the last minute, I'll release it on August 11th.I'm thinking of selling it for 3.99 dollars (gotta keep those 3s rolling). This will be the price during early access. Of course, this price will drop even more during steam discounts. I will also apply an launch discount. For now the game will only be released on Windows because I don't have the equipment to test MAC and Linux. I will deal with that later.Read full article on Community Announcements (Trturist)
