Major Update: Scout Camp, Charms and Pets
We've been working hard to bring lots of new content to Gombo! The latest update brings 3 new major changes: The Scout Camp: This is a completely new location on the map. Certain NPCs will ask you to get relocated. Build them a new home in the camp and as a thank you, they'll offer you powerful new tools, resources and more. The camp will expand and get bigger as new biomes find their way into the game. Charms: These lovely little helpers will make Gombo stronger in many different ways and buff specific stats. Please note that this is the first version of Charms and we'll keep expanding them, based on community feedback. Later updates will likely introduce the possibility to upgrade them. Buffs range from more combat damage to more efficient resource collection or even poisoning enemies. Charms will allow to customise Gombo more to your taste and play the game in different ways. More Charms will be added with future biomes.Pets: you can ride your pets to travel faster through the world, without spending stamina or mana. Just summon your pet, get on it and enjoy the ride! The next major update will bring a new biome. Stay tune for the next announcement here on Steam, on Discord and our social media channels!Read full article on Community Announcements (TheToastMachine)Patch NotesOfficial

Update v0.4.40 - August 31st 2026 - New Content: The Camp, Pets and Charms
We're excited to release a huge content update today, together with the PvE Survival Crafting Fest 2026: New Content: The Scout Camp: some NPCs want to be relocated, and the Scout's Camp is where they want to move. Help Gombo build them their new homes and as a thank you, he'll get access to new tools and other helpful items. Pets: What's life without a best friend? All pets can be mounted and let you travel faster. There are different pets to find, but keep in mind they all come with the same benefit and only differ visually. Charms: a new way to improve and upgrade Gombo and make him more powerful! This is a first implementation, and future updates will add the possibility to upgrade Charms and make them even more powerful. There have also been some balancing changes, with more to come: The Magic Wand has been nerfed. Reduced enemy spawns during nights. Shroomy Meat restores less hunger and may poison the player if eaten raw. This should encourage players to cook it or opt for meat instead. The player naturally heals much slower when their hunger is full. While they haven't been touched, this change also buffs health-related items like the Apple Fan, the Campfire and Salty Caramel. Shops nerf: shops are now harder to unlock with the new NPC system. Also, most prices were raised. Silk Balls are no longer required to create the leather armor. Increased the durability of Iron and Gold tools / armor. Gold tools are now more efficient, to make them more worth crafting. The Poison Splash was nerfed.Read full article on Community Announcements (TheToastMachine)Patch NotesOfficial
