  On Localization

  Good afternoon, everyone!Today I'd like to share some thoughts on localization — and also touch on the release timeline.Last month, after submitting the game for platform review, we received a notice that the game was not supporting the languages listed on its store page. So we took a closer look at what might have been missing.This game has very little text — outside of the shop interface labels like "Purchased" and "None," it's essentially just the menu and the theme names.That's when it struck us: players in Asian markets often seem quite comfortable with English UI elements. Words like START and RESET feel natural — but rendering them as 「開始」and 「リセット」 can sometimes feel... a little stiff?Then there are the theme names. The Last Leaf and Scenic Tour — translating these into local languages feels like it comes down to personal taste.Have any of your non-English-speaking friends ever mentioned how they feel about it?We'll post another update here when there's news on the release date.

  Yesterday was Qingming - a day when families across EastAsia visit the graves of their ancestors.A cemetery that's silent for 364 days fills, just once a year, with the sound of the living. Maybe that's what the departed still do for us: draw us back together.Beyond the Curtains - Theme 3: The Gravekeeper.   [Next Fest] Demo Update: Major Expansion to The Last Leaf

Beyond the Curtains, a cozy idle game about watching the world through a window, is officially participating in the Steam Next Fest! Thank you so much for following our progress — we've been working hard, and we're excited to share what's new. Demo Update We've pushed a major update to the demo just in time for Next Fest: ・Theme 1 — The Last Leaf: Most of the main content is now available, including several story phases and an ending. 　※ Some events and sound effects are still works in progress. ・Theme 2 — Scenic Tour: The opening section is now playable, along with an original track composed by artist Oli Jan specifically for this theme. If you've played a previous version of the demo, there's a lot of new content waiting for you. ─────────────────────── We'd Love Your Feedback Beyond the Curtains moves at a very different pace from most games. There are no tutorials, no objectives, just a window, some time, and whatever you make of it. That's exactly why your reactions matter so much to us. We'll be updating the demo throughout Next Fest and using your feedback to fine-tune the final release. Did you accidentally discover something was clickable? Did the waiting feel a little too long?   Hello to all our followers,Time passes quietly, like scenery shifting beyond a window. During this development journey, we've faced some unexpected challenges that led us to rethink how to deliver the most complete experience to you all.About the Release DateAfter careful consideration, we've decided to adjust the release date of Beyond the Curtains to March 2026.Originally, we planned to launch in Early Access, but we've changed our approach—we want to present the complete story all at once. The full release will include three complete themes:The Last Leaf — Heartwarming daily life in a small town. Scenic Tour — Travel by train through beautiful landscapes, accompanied by delicious local cuisine. Gravekeeper — A resting place for souls, exploring emotions at life's end.Store Page MakeoverWe've given our Steam store page a major update! New screenshots, more detailed game descriptions, and complete introductions to all three themes are now live.
