Crystal Comet 1.0: FUN STUFF: - Added new music for the wyvern / dragon level. Wink wink. - Added new priorities to the allied AI for where they should move & when. - Updated Challenger ship's special effect to now only affect enemies within a radius of the ship but now also does damage per second & causes knockback. - Buffed hover ship's special ability. Boom. - Buffed speed demon ship's special ability - Ride the wave. - Added a rumble to the previous special abilities on activation (for both) and added rumble duration for Amber's. - Added rumble on activation for alien's special ability (rumble can be turned off via the menu). MINOR BUG FIXES: - Fixed level director not ambushing you when it is supposed to.. Again.. - Fixed an animation issue where small enemy books where not displaying their flying animation sometimes. - Made some general minor optimisations. - Fixed sound effect still playing from power up wand shot after bullet has hit a target or gone off-screen etc. - Fixed bug where background was not scrolling during the "Bone boss". - Fixed issue where music was cutting out too abruptly during TLB battle. It now fades between transitions. MINOR CHANGES: - Added animation to 'machines' level projectiles. - Added animation to "orange" enemy projectiles during stealth level. Reference intended. - Reduced the amount of invincibility frames a player/AI team mates receives when being hit in certain situations. - Nerfed the allied AI's accuracy a little to make them more 'human'. Sounds minor but actually broke the entire game and took a while to fix. Dev life. - Made some adjustments to how the allied AI move during dialogue scenes. - Made some changes to the allied AI priority systems. Such as collecting things like health, powerups etc. - Reduced a lot of particle ...Read full article on Community AnnouncementsAnnouncementsOfficial
Crystal Comet 0.97.00.00:
FUN STUFF: The TRUE LAST BOSS mode has been added to the game. Good luck, have fun.. Added new music to the Dragon level. Uhm, I mean Wyvern level. Added collision sounds into the game when attacking enemies. Added new voice lines for character as more story elements have been added to the game. *Wink wink*. Added the ULTIMATE WEAPON power up to the game... Added two new achievements for true last boss and ultimate weapon power up unlock. I added a health bar to the game as requested because I am kind. You have to find it though.. Added a leader board for the true last boss "mode" ;) ;). MAJOR ADJUSTMENTS: Doubled freeze shot power up ammo from 20 to 40. Significantly reduced the health of a certain 'enemy' but can't tell you which type as it will spoil a surprise at the end of the game for other players.. Improved shielded ship's special ability greatly. Slightly reduced the duration of the shielded ships special ability. Increased laser gun powerup damage by 50%. SCORING SYSTEM CHANGES: Dramatically increased score for repairing an allies downed ship. Increased score for collecting a power up. Increased score for using a special ability Increased score for boosting Increased score for warping Increased score for killing small, medium & large enemies Lowered score for landing final hit on a boss. Lowered score for hitting a boss although there was a bug in the previous version as this was not being calculated correctly. So it is pretty much the same.. Increased scores for collecting small & medium energy cells or "batteries" as they are commonly referred to. They match the large energy collection score now. Increased score for collecting comet fragments Added new way to score: gain points for firing a charged shot (please refer to the instruction manual for what that is). I discovered a way to infinitely gain the scoring system which has now been fixed. Haha. Replaced hud section where it was displaying your kills. It now displays your current score to make it easi...Read full article on Community AnnouncementsPatch NotesOfficial
Closed beta patch: Crystal Comet 0.96.26.23:
Crystal Comet 0.96.26.23: FUN STUFF: - Added steam achievements to the game. - Added a shader to bosses to show what phase they are in as players requested health bars but I like the old school super metroid style of showing boss phases. Although it's a bit different to that. - Added menu item for true last boss to main menu although this will not be visible until unlocked and will not be selectable until the true last boss is added to the game (current working on it). THE WORST KIND OF BUGS: - Fixed error caused by last update which caused a crash (occasionally) when an AI team mate drops a power up for you. Was fixed & added in a shadow patch shortly after it was discovered after the last patch. ANNOYING BUGS: - Fixed issue related to music not being played in main menu after adjusting the music level briefly introduced since last patch.. - Fixed an issue where full-screen was running in windowed mode sometimes if the player had another application open as game loaded. NEXT WEEK ON OH MY GOD THIS WILL NEVER END: - Try and finish the "true last boss". I'm not sure if 3 weeks is actually enough time but will have to see what happens.Read full article on Community AnnouncementsPatch NotesOfficial
Crystal Comet 0.96.26.16 update.
Crystal Comet 0.96.26.16: FUN STUFF: - Made menu more explosive: Added rumble to the explosions when selecting certain options. - Replaced a mouth sound effect that was used as a placeholder *cough*. It was the spinning sound of the frozen Valkyrie's spear. ACESSIBILITY THINGS: - Created option to turn down / increase volume of dialogue. - Added option to turn gamepad rumble on / off for xbox pads (other pads may or may not rumble depending on make). ADJUSTMENTS: - Adjusted spacing for Minime powerup and decoys as some players found it hard to tell whether they were shooting when they fly close to an allied players ship. - Adjusted start volume of game as streamers were turning it down so that it is initially lower. You may need to go into options and adjust dialogue volume accordingly if you are in the closed beta. ANNOYING BUGS: - Fixed minor bug where when quit game prompt was active and selecting "no" to quit it would activate whatever menu item was currently highlighted by the menu selector. - Fixed an issue where sometimes (rarely) pads would rumble and not stop. - Fixed issue where mini-me powerup would jiggle when in position near a players/allies ship. - Fixed issue where allied AI were sometimes not dropping powerups for players when a player did not have one. - Fixed layering issue related to bandit boss and mini-boss drawing at incorrect depths. - Fixed bug where level ambience background music was being treated as SFX voume and would play at the incorrect vaules - Audio bugs are literally the worst. - Fixed issue where correct achievement icons (based on achievement type) where not being drawn via in game achievement system and was just drawing a default icon. NEXT WEEK ON LET'S GET THIS GAME DONE & STOP MESSING AROUND: - Add steam achievements to in game achievement system... - Start work on true last boss.Read full article on Community AnnouncementsPatch NotesOfficial
Crystal Comet 0.96.26.11: Closed beta weekly update patch.
Crystal Comet 0.96.26.11: FUN STUFF: Made mine boss more fun xD. Now it fires more projectiles. Yay. Changed main menu when 'first' ever loading the game as I feel this tells a better story. Will not appear if have already beaten the game. ANNOYING BUGS AND STUFF: Made it so that P1 HuD location in game is top left, P2 location is top right, P3 is bottom left etc as this was highly requested. Fixed minor bug with robot boss related to enemy spawners entering destroyed state when not supposed to. You're in trouble now... Ahh it's not that bad. Promise... Fixed minor bug where bone boss would go too far off-screen. Fixed a bug where magic boss would go too far off-screen, which I thought was already fixed. Still needs some work but will get back to it. Fixed minor bug where bone mini-boss would go too far off-screen. Think I'm starting to notice a pattern here.. Fixed minor bug where screen displays in random mode menu where not displaying certain players choices of character in 2-4 player modes. Fixed a bug where backing out of the "launching" display during random mode would cause the AI not to select a character. Fixed an issue where setting a button input to "Press left stick" or "Press right stick" would cause the text to run past the menu. It now displays "L3" or "R3" respectively. Changed the way dropping in and dropping out works slightly. It wasn't really a bug but I changed menu items to use state machines as opposed to just if statements which solved various issues but remembering them all might be a problem.. Fixed optimisation by 0.001%. Just kidding, I don't how much by. THE WORST KIND OF BUGS: Fixed bug which causes a crash when a controller is disconnected... Don't need that in local co-op games now do we? Thanks to csh_picone for finding that one 8). Fixed bug where crash occurred when backing out of countdown when in random mode after selecting characters in multiplayer. Thanks again picone. xD. NEXT WEEK ON REWDAN HATES BUGS: Fix some more minor iss...Read full article on Community Announcements
