About this game
Build a massive physics-driven fortress on wheels, survive the surface of Venus, and fight your way to the last city above the clouds.
Venus: The Last Ascent is a physics-based survival game where your base is also your vehicle. You keep moving, hauling a fortress of guns, farms, drills, and shields across the planet. Think tower defense, except the tower has wheels and never stops.
But everything on Venus wants your energy. Solar-powered war machines, abandoned here generations ago, wake up at sunrise and come for your reactors. You hold them off, scavenge what's left of them, and keep rolling.
FEATURES
BUILD A ROLLING FORTRESS
Every component you bolt on does something: tools, weapons, power, oxygen, storage, shields. You always want to build bigger. More guns, more farms, more reactors. But the physics are real, so you need to engineer the thing to actually move. A badly designed fortress gets stuck on a ridge or flips itself in a storm. Growing and staying functional is the whole game.
MINE ON THE MOVE
Cut into Venusian rock with focused light to pull out the minerals you need for upgrades. The good stuff is hidden in dangerous places, and stopping too long in the wrong spot is its own kind of risk.
FIGHT OFF THE DAY
When the sun hits, the old machines wake up. They're after your power, and they don't stop coming. Mount turrets, stand your ground, or outrun them.
EXPLORE A HOSTILE PLANET
Cross acid plains, glass deserts, and old industrial ruins. Pre-war outposts are where you find blueprints, and blueprints are how you build bigger, stranger, and more dangerous things. Logs and clues about what happened here are scattered around too, if you want to piece the story together.
REACH CLOUD CITY
The beam of light on the horizon is your only fixed point. Everything you build, mine, and fight for is in service of getting there.
A NOTE FROM THE STUDIO

Demo Update: Key Rebinding and Stability Fixes
Hi everyone,We just released a new demo update for Venus: The Last Ascent. This update adds a first version of our key rebinding system and includes several fixes focused on save loading, HUB Machine stability, construction, and crashes reported by players.New in this update:Added a first version of the key rebinding systemThis is an early version of the feature. We will continue improving it, adding more options, and expanding the system as development continues.Fixes and improvements:Fixed several save game loading issues that could result in a broken HUB MachineImproved construction stability in cases where small physics movements could block 3D printingFixed some HUB Machine physics instability issues after loading a saveFixed an issue where the HUB Machine could sometimes not be active or controllable after loadingFixed some random crashes reported by playersFixed other minor issuesImportant note about save fixes:Some save-related fixes may only fully apply when starting from a new save, or when building a new HUB Machine from scratch. If a previous save already contains a broken HUB Machine or corrupted construction state, this update may not be able to repair every issue automatically. We’re continuing to improve the demo based on player feedback, bug reports, and suggestions. Venus: The Last Ascent is still early in development, so every report helps us make the experience smoother and more stable. Thanks again to everyone who played the demo, wishlisted the game, and shared feedback with us. Feature Highlight: Air Jump
Hi everyone,For this feature highlight, we want to talk about the Air Jump in Venus: The Last Ascent. The Air Jump is powered by small boosters built into the backpack. It gives the player an upward push, with a light anti-gravity feel that helps with mid-air movement and quick maneuvers. As your HUB Machine grows, better mobility becomes more important. You need to reach modules, repair damage, climb higher structures, and move quickly around the machine when things go wrong. The Air Jump also helps when exploring the surface of Venus. Some resources and rare minerals can be hidden in higher or harder-to-reach areas of the landscape. With better suit mobility, exploration becomes faster, more flexible, and more rewarding. It can also make a difference during combat. When hostile machines attack, staying mobile helps you reposition, avoid danger, reach damaged parts of the HUB, and keep fighting. As you progress, upgrades can improve jump duration and allow multiple air jumps before landing. What starts as a simple mobility tool can evolve into a more powerful way to explore, build, repair, and survive.Like many tools in Venus, suit mobility is also tied to your energy systems, so movement upgrades become part of the broader survival loop. We’re continuing to work on mobility, construction, exploration, and combat as development continues. Thanks again to everyone who played the demo, shared feedback, and helped us during Steam Next Fest.Breaking WallsRead full article on Community Announcements (Breaking Walls)Community & EventsOfficial
