Dive into Soggy Beans, a tranquil side-scrolling simulation where you capture underwater moments and build your own seascape. Relax or explore as fish swim by in this calming indie experience from RATMODE.
About this game
Soggy Beans is a relaxing side-idler where fish visit you. Think bird watching, but with fish. Decorate, take pictures, create scrapbooks, or just let your friends keep you company while you do other things.
Soggy Beans was made from a desire to have a low intensity game to enjoy on the side of other things, instead of watching videos or scrolling.
Play as much or as little as you like: let it run while you check your emails, during meetings, or even while playing other games.

Find fish of all shapes and sizes. Fish come and go as they please, spot new ones as they visit and record each sighting in your journal.

Keep track of all the fish you see, update their profiles, and watch as your journal grows.

Capture photos of fish to save the memory forever. Set them as profile pictures in your journal, or use them as stickers in your scrapbook.

Collect beans that fish knock loose. Watch them push the bean machine - sometimes they drop them, sometimes they don’t.

Create your own little corner of the ocean with a variety of furniture pieces. You can stack things, create blueprints, and change backgrounds.

Each piece of furniture adds its own touch, shaping the mood of your seascape and helping attract certain fish.

[IMPORTANT] Upcoming Demo Update Notice
Hey everyone, in preparation for launch, we're updating the demo so that demo saves will transfer over to the full game. Meaning that you'll be able to start the full game from wherever you left off in the demo. Sadly to make this work we had to restructure data so, older saves will be wiped again once this update goes live. The good news is that after this, we won't have to do that anymore. So if you'd like to grab screenshots of anything, you have until Monday August 24th, 8am NZT (GMT+12) to do so before everything resets. Some other time zones: United States: Sunday, August 23 at 4:00 PM ET (GMT-4)United Kingdom: Sunday, August 23th, 9PM (BST/GMT+1)Thanks again for trying our demo 🐟Read full article on Community Announcements (RATMODE)AnnouncementsOfficial
Dev log-ish thing #1
Hello friends, here’s a quick update on where the game’s at: All of the fish we need have arrived except for one straggler. The bean machine has been thoroughly tested and is fully operational. A world turtle named Edna has opened a library where you can make your own scrapbooks. She’s also signed a trade agreement with the water elementals that means players may now use their currents to share scrapbooks with eachother. (You’ll have to host these yourselves using the human internet. The elementals said they’d be willing to transport books, but that “water’s not good at storing things”).We’re still waiting on a few more things, like Elsa to find more stock and the water elementals to finish writing their guidebook. We’re also still trying to figure out what to do with all these strange artifacts that keep showing up.Additionally, happy Ocean Fest. When we told the fish about it they were delighted to find out humans celebrate it too :) Hopefully we'll have more to share soonRead full article on Community Announcements (RATMODE)Community & EventsOfficial
Happy Animal Fest!
It's spring here, the rabbits and bugs are plentiful and breaking into our homes and the trees are alive with birdsong. A wonderful atmosphere to complete a game, hopefully sometime in the first half of 2026. We might not know where we're headed or when we will be arriving, but we can tell we're getting close ദ്ദി ( ᵔ ᗜ ᵔ ) In other news, our demo is currently being featured in Steams Animal Fest (now until November 17), alongside a bunch of other animal focused games, many of which are on sale. You can check that out here. 🐒🐟🦀🐊🐘Read full article on Community Announcements (RATMODE)
