Guide Pompeii through centuries of political intrigue and disaster, shaping its legacy by expanding trade and commanding legions in this deep strategy simulation from Siscia Games.
About this game

Twenty years after the devastating eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, Pompeii rises from the ashes. As the head of a Roman family, you will guide the city's rebirth, shaping its future through politics, trade, and the challenges of life in the Empire.

The city may have been destroyed, but its spirit endures. Rebuild Pompeii from the ground up, balancing the needs of patricians, plebeians, and slaves, each with their own ambitions and grudges. Every street, forum, market, and aqueduct shapes not just the city, but the fortunes of your family for centuries to come.

Lead across decades, navigating the shifting tides of Roman politics. Shape laws, negotiate trade rights, and form alliances through marriage or contract. Secure favor with emperors, outwit rivals, and expand your family's influence far beyond Pompeii's walls.

Construct housing, temples, arenas, and more to meet your citizens' needs. Establish trade routes across the Empire, monitor shifting markets, and keep your economy strong. Every decision, good or bad, can echo for generations.

The game incorporates active and passive bonuses through Family Bonuses, Research and Development, and Imperial Privileges. There are two main research branches: Technology and Philosophy.

The greatest threats are not always on the battlefield. Earthquakes, fires, famine, plagues, and political sabotage can strike without warning. Some enemies will wear armor, others will smile as they shake your hand, all will test your leadership.

Pompeii: The Legacy – Rivers, Trade & Gameplay Update v1.011.1
Hello everyone!Update v1.011.1 for Pompeii: The Legacy is now live! This is another substantial update, bringing improvements across many different parts of the game – from the way rivers and ships look and move, to trade calculations, agriculture, city services, house information, research, and performance in large cities. As always, many of these changes came directly from your reports, save files, suggestions, and discussions. Thank you to everyone who continues to help me find issues and improve the game.Rivers & WaterI've spent some time improving the visual presentation of water and making rivers feel much more alive.Added Screen Space Reflections (SSR) to water surfaces.Added visible wakes behind moving ships.Rivers now have a visible flow direction and movement.Fixed issues with sea rendering caused by transitions between different ambient environments. These changes are the beginning of further environmental improvements I want to make to the game.Trade System ImprovementsThe Trade system received a significant pass in this update. Several calculations that could previously produce incorrect prices, quantities, or route behavior have been corrected.Exports now correctly use the trade partner's Buy definition. The Family 2 +5% trade bonus is now applied to the actual sale transaction. The UI and settlement simulation now use the same shared price calculation.Imports are now charged according to the final quantity actually purchased. When there isn't enough money for the complete purchase, unused Coin is correctly preserved.Stock-target clipping no longer charges the player for discarded cargo.A trade route is now activated only after validating and charging the full 1,000 Coin activation cost.An unavailable first export resource no longer prevents later resources on the route from being exported.Overall, trade calculations should now be considerably more consistent between what the interface displays and what actually happens in the simulation.Agriculture & Food P...Read full article on Community Announcements (yeikosu | Pompeii: The Legacy)Patch NotesOfficial
Pompeii: The Legacy – Performance & Stability Update v1.010.1
Hello everyone!A new Pompeii: The Legacy update v1.010.1 is now live! This update focuses heavily on performance, stability, and improving the experience in larger cities. It contains a combination of many smaller optimizations and several larger changes to systems such as citizen movement, building placement, roads, walls, fences, and rendering.Players with large and heavily developed cities should notice smoother gameplay, fewer short pauses when placing new buildings, and generally more consistent performance. There are also several bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements; including a much clearer indication when Destroy mode is active. And this isn't the update I've been teasing recently! I'm already working on another, much more gameplay-focused update that I hope to release in around 10 days.Update v1.010.1Performance & Large CitiesOptimized citizen movement calculations, resulting in smoother performance in cities with large numbers of buildings.Optimized building and fence placement in large cities, reducing pauses when placing new structures.Improved rendering performance by avoiding the creation of model render lists when they aren't actually needed.Optimized road rendering.Optimized wall rebuilding after sections of a wall are demolished.Several additional smaller optimizations throughout these systems.Destroy ModeActivating Destroy Buildings or Destroy Fences now adds a clearly visible red screen overlay, similar to the overlay used when moving buildings. This should make it much easier to immediately recognize that Destroy mode is active and help prevent accidental demolitions.Fences & WallsUpdated the fence system.Fences can now be built as a single-tile section.Fixed incorrect overlap/resource calculations that could allow walls to be constructed without sufficient resources.Fixed Tower and Gate visuals not refreshing correctly after demolishing parts of a wall.Improved rebuilding behavior after wall sections are removed.Aqueducts & PumpsFixed a potent...Read full article on Community Announcements (yeikosu | Pompeii: The Legacy)Patch NotesOfficial
Pompeii: The Legacy - Plaza Update & Quality of Life Improvements
Hello everyone!First of all, I'd like to apologize that this update took a little longer than I originally hoped. Over the past weeks I've been working on a lot of different parts of the game, and many of the changes ended up being much bigger than they first appeared.I hope you'll find this update worth the wait, because this isn't just another bug-fix patch. The biggest addition is the new Plaza system, alongside a large collection of quality-of-life improvements and many of the small features that you've been requesting. There are also numerous bug fixes, gameplay improvements, UI enhancements, translation corrections, and several engine optimizations.Thank you once again for all your feedback, bug reports and suggestions, they continue to shape the game with every update.Patch v1.009.0 New FeaturesAdded Plaza as a new buildable city element.Middle Mouse Button on an existing building now selects the same building for immediate placement ("Clone Building").Stock Panel now supports resource selection using the Up / Down arrow keys.Double-clicking a savegame now loads it immediately.User Interface & Quality of LifeBuilding Panel navigation between buildings of the same type is now circular (last → first, first → last).House Panel navigation between houses of the same type is now circular.Building Panel now keeps the Upgrades tab selected when switching between buildings.Added Next / Previous Building buttons to the Upgrades tab.Trees now grow continuously instead of visually updating only once per month.GameplaySheep Farm now correctly produces both Meat and Wool, matching its description.Fixed the Training Speed bonus so it correctly affects Barracks.Bug FixesFixed an issue where a Trade Target Quantity of exactly 10,000 could be saved incorrectly.Fixed several save/load issues related to fences. (The fence system will also receive a larger redesign in the future.)Fixed an issue where moving a building could leave its placement hologram behind.Fixed a bug where si...Read full article on Community Announcements (yeikosu | Pompeii: The Legacy)Patch NotesOfficial
Patch v1.008.0 is live!
Hello everyone! I've just uploaded a small update (v1.008.0) focused on fixes and stability improvements. Changes Fixed fertility calculations for Crop Fields, Vegetable Farms, and Vineyards. Any field chunk placed outside fertile land will now correctly receive a 50% production penalty. Fixed several quest objectives in some localizations where Honey Wine was incorrectly displayed as Wine. Various small UI and hint improvements, including alignment fixes. Added additional logging around several systems to help track down rare crashes reported by two players. About the Plaza Update Unfortunately, the new plazas are not included in this update yet. They're mostly finished, but I haven't had enough time to test them properly. As soon as I'm confident they're working correctly, I'll release another update with the new plaza variations. I need to be very careful with new features, especially when they affect existing cities and save files. I'd rather spend a little extra time testing than risk breaking anyone's progress. Thank you all for the bug reports, save files, feedback, and screenshots. They help a lot and make it much easier for me to keep improving the game. Happy building!Read full article on Community Announcements (zeljkosiscia)AnnouncementsOfficial
Pompeii: The Legacy - New Maps Have Arrived!
Ave, Governors!First of all, I'd like to apologize for being a little quieter over the last few weeks. The development of the tools needed to create maps more efficiently ended up taking longer than expected. While those tools will help me in the future, the maps themselves are still largely hand-painted and handcrafted, so creating these two new maps required quite a bit of work as well. The good news is that the foundation is now in place. I already have additional maps planned for later this summer, and from now on I expect updates to return to a more regular schedule, roughly every one to two weeks. One of the most requested features since release has been more maps, and today I'm happy to finally deliver them!Patch v1.006.0New FeaturesAdded two brand-new maps to the gameAdded a map selection panel for Sandbox and Creative modesIn Sandbox and Creative modes, the City Center can now be placed almost anywhere on the map instead of being restricted to the southern areaImprovementsImproved LOD distances on a number of buildingsAdded several new grasses and plants to existing biomes to support the new mapsImproved roof rendering performanceBetter balancing for the upgrade costs of several buildingsFixesFixed various localization and text issues across several languagesFixed an issue where walls on some Insula buildings could display incorrect tangents at LOD0, causing visible flickering when moving the cameraComing Later This WeekA new update is already planned for the end of the week and will include:Several new plaza typesCitizens appearing around and inside more buildingsImproved movement throughout the cityMy goal is to continue making Pompeii feel more alive with each update.Thank YouAs always, thank you for your continued support, feedback, bug reports, suggestions, screenshots, save files, and patience.Seeing players continue to build new cities, share their creations, and help improve Pompeii: The Legacy gives me the motivation to keep working on the game every...Read full article on Community Announcements (yeikosu | Pompeii: The Legacy)
