Life is Strange: Reunion does its best to give Max and Chloe fans what they want at the expense of almost every other character in the game

We will never get a game quite like 2015's Life is Strange ever again. Ready for the mosh pit, shaka brah? Go fuck yourselfie? I was eating those beans, are you fucking insane? I was eating… those BEANS!? Iconic. Equally as cringe a decade ago as they are now, but it just worked. A small, relatively unknown French studio doing its best to hella capture the essence of American high school life... Read more.

Life Is Strange: Reunion (PS5) Reunion

Much like the act of tinkering with the space-time continuum, executing a narrative with complex branching choices over an extended period of time is a very challenging process with precise implications. And yet, that’s what Deck Nine has achieved with Life Is Strange: Reunion. Players love weighty choices in adventure or role-playing games, and we love it when those choices are carried forward into subsequent games in the same series. Life Is Strange: Reunion Preview—Blast From The Past

Poor Max Caulfield—the original protagonist of Life Is Strange has hardly ever been able to catch a break. Now, the time-rewinding heroine is about to face her ultimate challenge in Life Is Strange: Reunion, and after a brief hands-on preview, it’s clear that she at least won’t be facing it without her oldest ally. When we last saw Max in 2024’s Life Is Strange: Double Exposure, she had settled into a new position as an artist-in-residence at Caledon University in Lakeport, Vermont. When tragedy befell her new best friend, Safi, Max discovered a new ability which allowed her to “shift” into an alternate timeline where Safi was still alive, and discover the truth behind her would-be killer. The game ended on some unresolved business, which Reunion will apparently seek to close off, but another layer of paradoxical problems will plague Max along the way. As yet another mysterious disaster threatens to take away the things Max holds dear, a... Read more
