Devlog | August 2026
Ahoy, Tinkerlanders! We know you’ve been waiting for the next major update for a while now, but it is very much in the works. Our goal is simple: we want this update to be as fun, stable, and polished as possible when it reaches everyone. And with the amount of new content we’re preparing (new islands, new systems, new enemies, new tools etc.) - this is not exactly a tiny patch we can simply send out into the wild. Tinkerlands is growing fast, and we want to make sure it grows in the right direction. That’s why we’d like to ask for your help and also give some of you a chance to try the update early. The Upcoming Community PlaytestWe’re planning to run a closed Community Playtest for some of the most dedicated and curious Tinkerlanders from our community. These players will be among the first to try the upcoming update and help us improve it before the public release. Their feedback will be incredibly valuable for balancing, bug fixing, polishing, and catching the kind of strange issues that only appear when real players start doing real player things. The closed Community Playtest will take place in our Discord in early October. Stay tuned - we’ll share the registration details very soon!Global Playtest Registration Is Opening NowIf you’d like to try the upcoming update for free, we’re also opening registration for a Global Playtest that will take place shortly before the update release. This playtest will include the full game with the new update and will be available through Steam for players who request access. So if you have friends who still haven’t tried Tinkerlands, this will be a great chance for them to jump in, explore the world, and see what the game is all about, and all for free! Registration is opening now, and we’ll announce the exact playtest dates later! August Development FocusAs for development, August was mostly dedicated to fixes, improvements, and quality-of-life work. Not every important change makes for a flashy GIF, but these are the things ...Read full article on Community Announcements (EveTok)AnnouncementsOfficial
Devlog I July 2026
Ahoy, Tinkerlanders! The next major update is getting closer and closer - just a little more patience, and we’ll finally be ready to show you much more. July was another busy month for the team: we kept polishing the game, improving visuals, and preparing new islands, events, enemies, and class content for the upcoming update. So, what’s new this month? Visual Upgrade: CausticsWe’ve been improving the visuals of the whole game here and there, and this month we wanted to show one of those upgrades: a new caustics effect in Coraline Fields. It’s a small detail, but the kind that makes the world feel more alive, more polished, and a little more magical. Water should sparkle. That’s just science. Probably.Musician ShredderHere’s a sneak peek at the Musician class using the new Shredder weapon. The Musician is all about bringing a different kind of energy to combat - less “quiet background bard” and more “the soundtrack is now a weapon.” We’ll share more about the class and its abilities as we get closer to the update. Pirate InvasionSomething is very wrong in town. This month, we’re teasing the new Pirate Invasion event, where all NPCs have been tied up by pirates. How rude, isn't it? You’ll have to deal with the invasion, rescue the NPCs, and probably remind the pirates that this is not how guests are supposed to behave. Fungal EventFungal Island is getting its own strange little conflict: a rebellion between different types of mushrooms. Green and pink mushrooms on one side. Yellow mushrooms on the other. A tiny mushroom war with suspiciously serious vibes. This event helps give Fungal Island more personality and makes the biome feel like a place with its own problems, factions, and weird local politics. Rusty FactoryWe also prepared a quick look at Rusty Factory, a new mechanical island with a very different atmosphere from the rest of the world. It’s rusty, industrial, and not exactly the kind of place where you’d want to have a picnic. Unless your picnic basket con...Read full article on Community Announcements (EveTok)AnnouncementsOfficial
Devlog I June 2026
Ahoy, Tinkerlanders! It's 1st of July, so that means that June ends today when our monthly devlog drops! We've been working on so many things this month that we are very sure you are really going to love (ahem, bigger chests). But before we jump into the new stuff, we want to talk about something important. Our Recent Reviews are currently showing as Mixed. Not the most exciting achievement to unlock, we admit. We know Tinkerlands still has rough edges, and we’re not ignoring them. We read your reviews, bug reports, Discord messages, and suggestions, and we’re doing everything we can to improve the game. So here’s our small request: if you’ve played Tinkerlands, please consider leaving a review on Steam. It genuinely helps the game, helps new players understand what to expect, and helps us keep moving forward. And if you left feedback about what needs to be better - thank you as well! We’re listening (as you'll see down below), and we want the next major update to make Tinkerlands feel stronger, smoother, and much more fun to play. Now, let’s look at what we’ve been working on in June.Ship BuildingYes, ships are coming! This month, we worked on an early version of Ship Building, which will allow players to create their own custom ship. It’s still a work in progress, but we wanted to share a quick tease of the system because sailing around the Tinkerlands in your own handmade vessel just feels right.Ship NavigationAlongside ship building, we’ve also been working on Ship Navigation. For now, we’re sharing a quick look at the player navigating to the Hive Island. This is an important part of the next update, as ships will help connect new areas and make exploration feel more meaningful.Bard BuffsThe Bard is getting more useful. You’ll be able to receive different buffs from the Bard for a price. Some of the stronger buffs will require certain Amity thresholds, so improving your relationship with the Bard will unlock better options over time.Be nice to musicians. Sometimes the...Read full article on Community Announcements (EveTok)AnnouncementsOfficial
Devlog l May 2026
Ahoy, Tinkerlanders! In May, we kept working on new content, but a big part of the month was also about improving the game based on your feedback. We read your reports and suggestions, and we’re making changes to smooth out the experience, fix pain points, and improve core systems. Here are the main things we focused on this month:Seamless Save/LoadWe’re working on an upgrade to the save/load system to make it 100% transparent to the player. It’s still a work in progress, but the good news is: it already has far fewer noticeable hiccups, and the overall flow feels much smoother. Pirate Outpost (WIP)The Pirate Outpost is still a rough WIP, but it’s coming together. You’ll find multiple buildings and NPCs there and each one will offer different Contracts, accept different token types, and provide their own unique services. In short: the pirates aren’t just “a shop”. They’re becoming a whole little ecosystem. Hive Island (Complete)Hive Island is now complete, and it's a place infested with all kinds of insects, topped off with a proper finale: a giant moth boss! If you like new biomes that feel distinct (and slightly hostile), this one is for you. Fungal Island (WIP)Fungal Island is still in development, but the environment is now much more defined and readable. Think of this as the stage being built before we start filling it with the “actors” (content, encounters, and reasons to come back). Mech Island (Sneak Peek)Just a tiny tease this month: a couple of structures from the upcoming mechanical island. Not much to show yet - but yes, it’s real, and yes, it’s going to look very different from anything we’ve had so far. Misc Changes & Quality of Life Boss summons now respect biomesFor balance reasons, some boss summoning items can now only be used in the appropriate biome. No more summoning a nightmare in a completely wrong place “just because you can”. Stop resource respawningWe’ve added a new interactable that prevents resources from respawning while it’s active. Thi...Read full article on Community Announcements (EveTok)AnnouncementsOfficial
Devlog | April 2026
Ahoy, Tinkerlanders! It’s getting hotter and hotter outside - and the same can be said about our development kitchen. April has been packed with big systems work, a juicy chunk of new content, and quality-of-life improvements based directly on your feedback. Here’s what we've been working this month: Fungal IslandWe said that longer gaps between updates would mean bigger updates and we really meant it. Here’s a sneak peek at a brand-new location: Fungal Island, along with its very own Lord. Expect new challenges and a chunk of fresh adventure content for explorers who like their islands… a little weird.ContractsOne of the next update’s major additions is Contracts. You’ll be able to buy contracts from the pirates, complete them, and earn tokens. Those tokens can then be spent in the Pirate Camp on unique items and services.Contracts come in many flavors - from straightforward errands to more adventurous tasks, like tracking down buried treasure.Fuel MachineMeet the Fuel Machine - a new way to power up statues. It consumes fuel to activate them and make sure the enemies they summon actually drop loot. Different statues require different amounts of fuel, so choosing what to power (and when) will matter.Fuel RecyclerTo keep the Fuel Machine running, you’ll need fuel. And that’s where the Fuel Recycler comes in. It lets you recycle unwanted items and convert them into fuel, turning clutter into progress.MirrorWe’ve heard your feedback loud and clear: character customization is coming! In the next update, you’ll be able to use different Mirrors to change your character’s appearance, so you can finally stop looking like the same little gremlin in every co-op screenshot.DyesTo go with the new Mirror system, you’ll also be able to find and purchase hair dyes and apply them to your character. Because sometimes you don’t need a new sword - you just need a new vibe.QoL: Buffs from InventoryThis one has been suggested again and again and we agree it’s simply better. Certain ite...Read full article on Community Announcements (EveTok)
