STORY
At the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, an explosion rocked a clandestine laboratory in Chernokamensk. A massive energy release transformed the city into an exclusion zone, periodically illuminated by an eerie glow. The government sealed off the region from the outside world with an imposing wall.
The true nature of the zone and its real happenings remain shrouded in mystery. The leak of secret documents, in which one word - 'convergence' was often repeated, did not clarify the situation either.
However, whispers of untold treasures and enigmatic artifacts traverse the land, attracting people from all corners of the country to Chernokamensk. Some delve into the anomalous territory as part of special volunteer units, while others trespass illegally.
You will assume the role of an artifact hunter, a member of a specialized squad granted access to the restricted area. The zone is in constant flux, and to unveil its secrets, you must confront bandits, wild animals, and enigmatic demons that emerge to hunt under the veil of night.

Dev Diary #7 - One Week Until 1.0
Hello, Hunters!CONVRGENCE 1.0 launches on September 17 - exactly one week from today. So in this dev diary, I’d like to talk about what leaving Early Access actually means, as well as what you should - and shouldn’t - expect from the full release.WILL THERE BE A SAVE WIPE?The short answer is no. All your gear, weapons, unlocked hideout and vehicle upgrades, as well as all the money you’ve accumulated, will remain and carry over into 1.0. However, since the main quests are being significantly reworked, your mission progress and unlocked reputation levels will be reset. So for returning players, moving to version 1.0 will be something of a “New Game+.” That said, I would still recommend starting completely from scratch to get the full experience.QUEST REWORKI don’t think anyone would argue that the main quests during Early Access were fairly repetitive, not particularly interesting, and sometimes way too grindy. The good news is that most of them were temporary. In version 1.0, quests will become much more varied, with significantly less grinding and fetch quests. Now, even if a quest asks you to find and bring back several cans of gunpowder, for example, there will be a story reason behind it, complete with voice-over.STORYVersion 1.0 will finally introduce a complete story and a proper ending, followed by credits. A definitive point where you can confidently say: you’ve beaten the game. However, I want to make one thing clear from the start: CONVRGENCE is still an extraction shooter rather than a story-driven game, so don’t expect an incredibly deep narrative. The story is primarily there to tie the events of the game together, explore its world and lore in greater depth, make the experience smoother for newcomers, and give the entire journey a proper conclusion, rather than tell a deeply personal story like I did with Paradox of Hope. That said, I’m happy with how the narrative turned out, especially a few unexpected twists and the consequences of your actions that you’...Read full article on Community Announcements (NikZ)AnnouncementsOfficial

Full Release Date Announcement
Hi, Hunters! I'm happy to announce the full release date for CONVRGENCE - Version 1.0 launches on September 17! For more than two years, the game has been evolving in Early Access, gradually receiving new locations, weapons, enemies, mechanics, and many other improvements and changes. And now, this journey is approaching its biggest milestone. One of the main additions in Version 1.0 will be a full-fledged story, tying together the events of the game and finally allowing you to reach the very heart of the Chernokamensk Anomaly Zone and see the story through to its conclusion. The existing quests will be significantly reworked - making them more varied and engaging - along with many other improvements across the game. While Version 1.0 will mark the end of Early Access, I plan to continue supporting CONVRGENCE beyond its full release. But more on that when the time comes :) The full release is almost here. See you in the Zone on September 17, Hunters!Read full article on Community Announcements (NikZ)Patch NotesOfficial
Important Update: Price Increase in August
Hello, Hunters! It's Nik, the solo developer behind CONVRGENCE. Today I want to share an important update with you - the game price will increase soon. Update: The new price is now live. Many of you probably know that it's common for games to become more expensive after leaving Early Access and reaching version 1.0. When you buy an Early Access game, you're purchasing a product that's still in development, which is why it's offered at a lower price. That lower price is also a way of thanking everyone who chose to support the project during its early stages. Throughout Early Access, the game continues to grow with new content, mechanics, fixes, and improvements, becoming a more polished and complete experience. That's why, by the time version 1.0 launches, the price usually reflects all the work that's gone into the game over the years. Of course, we're not talking about abandoned games, games that were rushed into a 1.0 release without delivering on their promises, or games that launched into Early Access with an inflated price tag :) CONVRGENCE has come a long way and changed tremendously over more than two years in Early Access. Because of that, the game will become more expensive at full release. My original plan was to raise the price alongside the launch of version 1.0 this fall. However, for a number of reasons, that will happen a little earlier - after the current Steam sale ends, in August. So, if you've been thinking about picking up the game, or you've been waiting for the full release, please note that this sale will be your last chance to purchase CONVRGENCE at the current discounted price. The final base price after the increase will be $24.99. Thank you to everyone who supported CONVRGENCE during Early Access. Your support helped make the game what it is today, and now we're getting closer than ever to the full release! That's all for today! Starting in August, I'll begin sharing more information about the upcoming 1.0 update, so stay tuned!Read full article on Community Announcements (NikZ)Patch NotesOfficial
0.9.1.2 Hotfix
- Based on player feedback, Realistic difficulty has been made even more hardcore. Both you and your enemies now deal and receive even more damage. - Sniper damage in the Dead City now scales with the selected difficulty. On Realistic, being hungry or wearing a Hazmat Suit may result in a one-shot kill, so be careful! - The quest Bear now always spawns in a single location near the Sawmill, so you no longer have to search the entire map. Outside of the quest, its spawn location remains random. - Grass is now visible in the Forest on the Medium graphics preset. - Fixed several bugs related to the dog. For example, it now drops the ball or toy if it starts fighting, eating, or barking. - Fixed a bug where Kim (the Bandit Leader) was apparently firing his AKM with chewed-up paper instead of bullets. He now deals the correct damage. - Fixed the invisible wall (platform) in Dead City. Finally! - A few other minor fixes.Read full article on Community Announcements (NikZ)
