Control massive cannons atop controllable mechs and blast your way through enemies in this unique action-packed hybrid PC/VR shooter from Plus 2 Studios.

About this game

You are a cog in a never ending war. A war that has torn the land asunder and tormented man's soul into a husk of empty nothingness. You're not special. You're just another soldier assigned to another mech to defend yet another outpost from yet another enemy. Win or lose, live or die, it has no meaning. There is only The War.

  • Manually aim, load, and fire your cannons at your opponent: friend, enemy, or AI!

  • Control a steam mech and outmaneuver your opponent - escape from danger or charge straight into it!

  • Stay in the fight by repairing your mech with your trusty hammer!

  • Work as a team or play by yourself!

VR? Check. Multiplayer? Check. Cannons? Check. Steampunk? Check. Mechs? Check. What more could you want?

    Early Access Delayed (Again...)

We have once again decided to delay the early access release of Steam Shot from June 2024 to November 2024. We recognize that this sucks for those of you who were looking forward to playing what Steam Shot had to offer in June, but we believe extra time is needed to continue to flesh out the game and that this extra time will be worth the wait. It is our goal to deliver a product that goes above and beyond and we could not do that if we released in June. As stated before, we are entirely self-funded through our day jobs and there are only 3 of us working on this game so progress is slow. In the mean time, we will continue to update the demo when improvements have been made. Since our last delay announcement we have changed how the telescope worked, fixed some bugs, and updated how the mech moves should it is less jittery now. We have also added a PC playable mode., but rest assured VR fans - VR development and design is still at the forefront of Steam Shot. We just wanted your non-VR friends to be able to play with you. We plan on releasing into early access with 1 game mode available: Team Death match. This mode will be able to play vs AI or vs other players. We hope to deliver a coop survival mode post early access, but we cannot promise anything at this time. Again, we are sorry for the inconvenience but thank you for your patience and understanding!

    Early Access Delayed

We have decided to delay the early access release of Steam Shot from February 2024 to June 2024. We would love to release earlier than that, but there are still many things we want to get done in Steam Shot but have not had the time to implement yet. Being self-funded through our full time jobs and only being able to work on Steam Shot part-time is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because we get to make a game we (and by proxy - you) want to make, but a curse in that we tend to only have a few hours each week to work on it. Looking at the amount of work we want to accomplish verses how much time we realistically have to accomplish that, we came to the conclusion that we need to delay our early access release date. At the end of the day, we want to respect your time and money and therefore cannot in good conscience, release a game, even into early access, before we believe it is worth the price tag we put on it. Therefore, we have made the hard decision to delay Steam Shot by another 5 months. This should give us ample time to iron out all the kinks and create a game that is fun and engaging for you and your friends. We're sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience! We will be positing an updated demo, where you can see our progress sometime end of January/early February.
