  DEVLOG XXII - Senate

  Ave Citizens! We have important news to share with our dedicated community. Since the release of our empire-building game, Citadelum, we have been dedicated to improving the experience with several major updates and free content releases. We introduced four new campaigns to the main story mode: Campaign II: Last Conqueror of Britannia, Campaign III The Lost Eagles of Germania, Campaign IV: The Gallic Wars, and Campaign V: The Third Punic War. Each campaign was initially released for free, completing our vision of ancient Roman history by adding new biomes, challenging battles, unique enemies, and fresh mechanics to the core game. On top of that, they gave us the opportunity to present historical characters such as Agricola, Germanicus or Julius Caesar. Price Adjustment for Campaign DLCs We want every player who has supported us from the beginning to enjoy this content, and many of you already have it for free. Those who already downloaded the DLCs, will still be able to enjoy them for free. However, we are announcing a price change for these four Campaign DLCs. Starting on January 12th of next year, these DLCs will no longer be free and will be individually priced at $0.99 USD / €0.99 EUR each. Why the Change? Let’s value the Hard Work We know this is a difficult announcement, and we want to be completely transparent about our reasoning. This modest price point—just $0.99/ €0.99—is easily accessible and serves a critical purpose: recognizing the value of our work and helping us with development. As a small team, developing complex, story-driven campaigns requires an immense amount of time and resources. We observed that sometimes, free content is not always perceived with the same value as paid content. This famous phrase, pronounced by Cato the Elder in the Roman Senate, uttered at the close of his speeches , serves as the perfec hook for the new DLC now available to all Citadelum players! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44838290/31780af4a5cc0e626dc9cf6f7a018d4ac6a4d98d.png This time, we have decided to step further back into history than our previous campaigns, focusing on a crucial and defining period in Rome's history: The Third Punic War. This was the ultimate showdown where Rome finally overpowered its primary rival for Mediterranean dominance: the Carthaginians. In this new campaign, you will follow the story of General Scipio Aemilianus throughout his military actions, as chronicled in Polybius' renowned work, Histories. What's New in the DLC? The new DLC, The Third Punic War, is designed to provide fresh challenges: Complex Missions: Includes new, more intricate missions that fully utilize the features introduced in our Update 2.0, "Julius." New Maps: Explore brand new maps featuring a distinct arid biome, offering unique gameplay challenges.
