About this game
Early Access
As of 1/16/2025 This game’s development has been suspended indefinitely
After 11 content, gameplay improvement, and performance improvement updates, we have exhausted our financial runway and sales are insufficient to support the cost of operation for the studio, so the game’s development has been suspended indefinitely.
It has been an exciting but difficult journey full of many surprises (good and bad) and challenges leading us to this point. Although we are saddened that INFESTSTATION was never able to grow into the game it was meant to be, I am extremely proud of what we were able to accomplish with it.
We are eternally grateful to everyone who has supported Atom Switch and INFESTSTATION, which will remain available in Early Access (with a heavily reduced price to reflect the situation), in the event that it can one day be revived and completed.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Backstory
50 years have passed since the megacorporation OMICRONIX discovered a new technology that could send ships to distant stars in an instant. This FTL Engine was called The Crimson Drive. For decades, OMICRONIX recruited the hopeful and the destitute, launching them into the darkest parts of space to mine asteroids and distant planets.
One By One they All Went Dark.
Powered by unexplained and misunderstood forces, extended operation of the Crimson Drives shattered the boundaries of our dimension, creating a gateway to horror on each ship that used it. The things that crossed over have infested the now-derelict crafts, melding them into nests and hives. While the former crew members and their families are now gone, the dangers of these rifts still remain.
Desperate to reclaim the data recorded during these events, OMICRONIX now tasks their downtrodden workforce with returning to these craft, shutting down the dimensional rifts, and returning with the drive’s Crimson Cores for study.
It’s not easy, and it’s not safe. But someone has to do it…

Development Being Suspended
As of 1/16/2025 This game’s development has been suspended indefinitely The Good News INFESTSTATION is not leaving Steam or ceasing to function. It will remain in your library and it will still be fully playable, both solo and with other players. We utilized peer-to-peer architecture for our multiplayer that does not rely on external services to work (the player who creates the crew lobby is the host of their own server). The Bad News After 11 content, gameplay improvement, and performance improvement updates, we have exhausted our financial runway and sales are insufficient to support the cost of operation for the studio, so the game’s development must be suspended indefinitely. Update 12: Seasonal Content Removed
Update 12 Nov 5, 2024 Halloween Seasonal Content has ended, so the two Halloween themed missions have been removed from the game. There are also a few minor bug fixes and tweaks, as well as some rebalanced threat spawn sets for each mission type, a fix to add sound and visual effects to the destruction of scrap barricades, and some balancing to make eggs less annoying when spawning in doorways. Gameplay Scrap barricades now have sound and visual effects when destroyed Non-Halloween missions have had their threat types rebalanced for a bit better diversity across missions and variety within them Eggs are now much less likely to spawn in doorways (and when they do, they will spawn in fewer numbers) and instead are now more likely to spawn as random clutches of eggs in missions with appropriate/associated threat types Art Changed a decal set for security doors to no longer appear metallicRead full article on Community Announcements (Atom Switch, Inc.)Patch NotesOfficial
Update 11: Healing Stations
Update 11: Healing Stations Oct 18, 2024 Health Stations have been added to the game! This was one of the most requested features beside the end-of-mission summary screen (which came online in Update 8) and I’m excited to say it has finally made it into the game. Be on the lookout for functional Decontamination Stations that can show up in the game in place of the big explode-y ones (you’ll know them by their friendly green screen and lack of horrible flying sparks). {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44739264/744bc86fa0bd49615470a85d9b446f36250cc3aa.jpg It will drain 100 Data collection points from your collection pool each time you use it, but it will also fully restore your health! There have also been a few other fixes and improvements added as well, check out the notes below for the full changelist: Gameplay Added Decontamination Stations that can heal injured players for a cost of 100 data Jack-o-Lanterns are destructible and net some extra Data collection when destroyed Added additional minor threat variant to missions featuring The Molted insectoid creatures Added a screen shake effect to exploding objects to make their explosions more noticable and have more impact ‘Zoomed out’ the mini map that loads up on Hazard Cleaner Console screens to make them more useful to players Art Improved Decontamination Station display screen that better fits it’s small size New VFX and SFX for Decontamination Station’s healing function Fixed destructible Jack-o-Lanterns to not have their inner glowing core linger after being destroyed Added new “Operational” screen material for Decontamination Station to help differentiate it from the broken ones that will explode on a proximity trigger Added new “please wait” screen material for Decontamination Station to indicate when it is ready to be used again Stability & General Bugs Low Graphics Settings improvements: I finally tracked down where the extremely Turok-esq ultra fog was coming from on low graphics settings, and have improved the setting...Read full article on Community Announcements (Atom Switch, Inc.)Patch NotesOfficial

Update 9: September 18th
Update 9 Sep 18, 2024 With update 9, we have refactored the procedural level generator's room selection and prioritization for each of the missions, with the biggest impact coming on missions that feature a "branching" layout design, taking much better advantage of the various large and small POI rooms for a more interesting layout and more active rooms. The HUD also got some love, with the look getting pushed further towards a projected / AR / hologram style effect, with matching updates to the helmet interior that surrounds it. Some of the experimental missions also got updates to better spawn threats and spawn them with a bit more diversity in which types it chooses and when. Additionally, player icons will now show each player's proper facing direction on the Map Tool screen, not just the player holding the map! It's a small fix, but a big quality of life boost for helping other players navigate using the map. Check out the list below for the full set of change notes! Gameplay New distraction device sound fx that is less noisy and annoying Heavily refactored procedural map spawn sets to add more variation and more appearance of large and small POI rooms, especially on missions with a “branching” layout type Threats are now much less likely to accidentally kill themselves on a mine when no players are around. For now this means they’re a bit TOO good at avoiding them, but mines are also great when intentionally triggered with a laser shot while we work on finding a middle ground 🙂 New threat type added to M01-EX Threat spawns set up better for missions that spawn zombies/blobs Art Reworking HUD stylization for a better, more cohesive look Updates to helmet interior mesh/textures to better align with the updated HUD Stability & General Bugs Fixed a bug where mines could be thrown and stick to nothing, floating in mid air Fixed and improved red ‘taking damage’ screen flash to not be warped by the HUD projection and to have a softer, more fade-in-from-the-edges look...Read full article on Community Announcements (Atom Switch, Inc.)
