About this game

Harness the power of the Elements and gather Spells to defend yourself against Hordes of Enemies!

In this game, you are a Wizard, trapped in a castle, as magical creatures are attacking you from every side.
The only way to survive is to fight back with a vast array of different Spells. Spells are cast automatically, however, it's up to you to find the best Combination!

Spell Traits:
It's not only about getting the strongest Spells, it's about finding a Combination, that will grant you even more Power.

Every Spell belongs to one Element and one School.

Elements grant Unique bonuses to their respective Spells.
Want to Freeze your Enemies? Burn them to Ashes? Or make them Explode into more Projectiles?
Gather Spells with the same Element to activate these Traits and make them stronger by getting more of the same Element.

Knowing Spells of the same School will give you the power of their creators.
Harnessing the power of Fairies will give you regenerative abilites, or you can become as strong as a Dragon.
Activating the Phoenix School will grow your power over time and give you the ability to revive.

Gameplay:
The controls of this game are very simple. You can walk and you can jump. Spells and abilities get activated automatically.
You need to survive 20 waves of an onslaught of enemies, that get stronger every wave. Later waves introduce new enemies and there's a big threat in the final wave.

So you walk around casting spells on enemies that will drop loot upon defeat. Gather gems to buy new spells and items to become stronger.
Enemies might occasionally drop an item which you can take or sell at the end of a wave.
Sometimes enemies also drop Heal Orbs, which heal you upon collecting them.

Occasionally Chests will spawn, that you can open by simply touching them. They contain loot, but pay close attention, because not every chest is dormant.

In the shop you can view your current Spells in the top left, where you can also decide to buy new empty Spellbooks. In order to learn a new unique Spell you need at least one empty Spellbook. Buying a Spell that you already have, will add 1 experience point to it. 3 Spells of the same kind will make a level 2 Spell and 9 of a kind make a level 3 Spell, increasing not only the Power, but also giving unique bonuses to certain Spells.

Every Spell has Base Power, Scalings (indicated by the respective Symbol in the Description) and the "Damage" stat acts as a final percentual Modifier for all Player Damage sources. (1 Damage = 101% of original Damage).

In the Shop items can be bought, rerolled or locked (so they reappear next wave). Prices will increase with higher wave numbers.

    V0.4 Update

With version 0.4 I wanted to focus on rebalancing the game and adding certain quality of life changes. Shop: -Items in the shop are now a lot cheaper and the game is more centered around buying more items (Enemies were overall buffed due to this). -Spells that the player already owns now get a 30% discount in the shop. This makes leveling Spells easier and more viable. -Item Rarity chances are now displayed in the shop. -When leveling a Spell it now shows which one has been leveled. Overall Balance Changes: -A lot of Spells were rebalanced. The Range-size scaling was reduced for Spells which it made too strong. -Traits now have different Threshholds and were also rebalanced to suit those threshholds better. -Items are a lot cheaper now. -Enemies have been buffed (mainly Health) -Hard mode is now increases enemies stats by 50% rather than 60% Other: -Several bug fixes -Some Spells are now see-through, because they were blocking visibility -Wyverns and Banshees can now fly through platforms/walls Conclusion: Originally I wanted to make this patch be the one to leave early access, however there are still some things to do, which is why the game will probably leave early access within January/February. The game balance still needs some work, but it's getting closer to how I imagined it. There are also some other changes that I still want to make. That being said, I will take a small break on this game over the holidays, so the next patch might take a little longer than usual to get out.

    Version 0.3 Update

New Spells: In version 0.2 the game had 38 different unique spells the player could acquire. For version 0.3 the total number of different spells has increased to 85. Since the next patch will mainly focus on rebalancing the game and finishing the core mechanics to bring it to its full release, there probably won't be any more spells until then. Additionally some spells from the previous version have been reworked. New Traits: With so many new spells, it was an obvious decision to also include new traits. There are a total of 4 new elements and 4 new schools to empower yourself with in the battlefield. New Spells aren't exclusively ones with new traits which means that there's now a bigger variety of combinations to use. All traits were also reworked to function a bit differently now. Every trait has an attunement scaling, which usually increases their power (depends on trait). When hitting higher threshholds, a trait increases its base power, its scaling and additional secondary stats. New Items & Stats: There are around 40 new Items, altering your stats in many different ways. Additionally there are 2 new primary stats: Health Regen and Lifesteal. Alongside these new primary stats, there are new advanced stats, which can also be viewed in the shop screen. Among those there are stats such as Price Reduction, Knockback, Spell Duration etc. Spells now also have 4 indicators in the shop, showing whether they scale with certain stats. Projectile Speed: Spells with this indicator gain travel speed through the new advanced stat Projectile Speed. Range to Size: Spells with this indicator gain size the more range you have. Spell Duration: Spells with this indicator gain duration through the new advanced stat Spell Duration. Knockback: Spells with this indicator have knockback and gain knockback through the new advanced stat Knockback. (Spells of the Air Element naturally don't have knockback, but only gain it through their element once activated) New Characters: There are ...

    Version 0.2 Update

New Waves and Enemies: On Version 0.1 there were a total of 15 waves to survive with one miniboss at the end. In this new Version 0.2 there are now 20 waves to survive in total, with an all new Final Boss on wave 20. There's also a new miniboss that can appear instead of the old one on wave 15. The waves have been reworked and spread out on the 20 waves now and are overall more regulated, also housing a new Enemy, the "Armored Skeleton". Achievements: Previously the game didn't have any unlockables or achievements to complete. That will change with this version. There are several different achievements to unlock. Every achievement is also tied to an ingame unlock (Characters and Items). Completing a run with a Character now shows a medal on the Character Select screen. The Collection: The Collection has been added to the game. Here you can take a look at all the Spells, Traits, Items, Characters and Enemies of the game and see further details. Things that haven't been unlocked yet will be hidden in the Collection. Hovering them will show their unlock conditions. More Characters: A total of 5 new Characters have been added to the game. Unlock conditions can be seen on the Character Select screen or the Collection. Other Changes: -It is now possible to drop through platforms by holding down and then jumping. -Added two platforms on the sides to make it easier getting around the map. -Added 4 new Items. -Several balance changes. The overall balancing of the game is still a bit rough, but there's more of a system behind it now, which will make it easier to adjust in the future. -Several bug fixes
