🍲 Delicards Dev Update — Road to the Deckbuilders Fest (4th of May)

Hey everyone,It’s been a quiet stretch on the outside… but behind the scenes, Delicards has been cooking nonstop. Today I want to share where the game is, what’s new, and something important:👉 I'm aiming to release a demo during Steam’s Deckbuilding Festival this May (May 4th)No promises carved in stone—but that’s the target I'm building toward.🃏 What is Delicards (quick recap)Delicards is a cozy pixel-art deckbuilding game where you:Build a deck of ingredients, recipes, seeds and kitchen upgradesRun your own restaurant day by day (and decorate it, upgrade it, make it yours)Cook dishes by combining flavor profiles (🔥 spicy, 🌿 fresh, 🍄 umami, etc.)Serve customers before they lose patienceGrow your own ingredients in a small garden systemThink: deckbuilder + cozy management + a bit of roguelike spice.🌱 New Feature: The GardenWe’ve just implemented one of the most important systems in the game:The Garden 🌿Plant seed cardsWait a few turnsHarvest fresh ingredients with bonus effectsExample:Chili Seeds → grow into Fresh ChiliFresh ingredients can act as wildcards or give bonus valueThis adds:Planning across turnsCombo potentialA really cozy rhythm to each runI think food critics and VIP customers will very much enjoy a recipe cooked with fresh ingredients. There are also a lot of planned utility items to use in your kitchen / restaurant to boost your garden.🍽️ Flavor System (Major Rework)We’ve redesigned how recipes work.Instead of rigid ingredient matching, everything is now based on flavor profiles:🔥 Spicy🧂 Savory🍯 Sweet🍋 Sour🍄 Umami🧈 Rich🌿 Fresh🍞 StarchyNote that these are probably going to suffer some modifications as I go through all the cards.Recipes now ask for flavor combinations, not specific items.👉 This makes deckbuilding:More flexibleMore creativeMore replayable🎨 Card Art Direction UpgradeWe’ve pushed the visual style further toward a storybook / cozy alchemy feel.Ingredient cards now have richer scenesFlavor icons are clearer and more readableUI is being simp...

    🍲 Delicards – End of 2025 Kitchen Report & Summer 2025 Plans

Kudos, 2025!As the year comes to an end, I wanted to share a final look at where Delicards is, what’s been cooking behind the scenes, and where the game is headed next.Delicards started as a small idea: what if cooking itself was a card game? Over 2025, that idea has slowly turned into a playable, strategic, cozy experience—and I’m excited to say the foundation is now in place.Throughout 2025, the focus has been on building solid core systems rather than rushing content.Right now, Delicards features:A functional cooking loop powered entirely by cardsRecipe, ingredient, and seed cards with clear synergiesA deck that evolves as you cook, not just as you drawA smoother, more readable cooking flow during each turnThe game already plays like a kitchen—not just a deck.🌱 Seeds, Planning & Long-Term StrategyOne of the biggest additions this year was the seed system.Seeds introduce long-term planning:Plant now, harvest and cook at later turnsBuild toward specific recipesReward patience and foresightThis mechanic is shaping Delicards into something slower, calmer, and more thoughtful—very much in the spirit of cozy games.🧠 Deckbuilding That Feels Like a KitchenBy the end of 2025, the deck has taken on a clearer identity:Some cards prepSome cookSome enable future turnsYou’re not just drawing cards—you’re organizing a kitchen. This structure will support future additions like:Kitchen upgradesChefs & specialtiesRegional recipe themes🎯 The Road to Release — Summer 2026With the core systems now stable, the plan is to move Delicards toward its first full release in Summer 2026.The coming months will focus on:Expanding the card pool with meaningful varietyImproving balance and combo depthPolishing UI, animations, and feedbackAdding progression and light meta systemsPlaytesting and iteration based on feedbackNo crunch, no rushing—just steady, careful cooking.❤️ Thank You & What’s NextIf you’ve wishlisted, followed, or simply checked in—thank you. Every bit of interest helps keep this ...

Announcing Delicards - The Delicious Card Game

Delivoo - The Delicious Card Game Development & Release Plan I am super excited to have launched this page, along with the Discord channel. Releasing this game has been a dream of mine since early on, as I love Trading Card Games (especially to collect rare and legendary cards) and, ofcourse, cooking! The plan is to have an Early Access Release sometime in December 2023, following a full release in March 2024. This is a solo project in which I have invested a lot of passion and love for making games and I want each part of the game to reflect this, that's why I don't want to rush the release, but polish it as best as I can. The supported platforms are PC, Mac (Intel and M1/Arm) and SteamOS with consoles being planned for later next year. Get Involved International Contributions Since the game focuses on cooking, there is a high variety of recipes and ingredients from all around the world. Wherever you might be located, you know some local dishes that waters your mouth and brings in that UMAMI experience. I want to incorporate as much of international cuisine as possible and don't want to miss out any of the golden "granny" recipes you know, so please join the Discord server and post it under card-ideas channel. Your effort will be rewarded with your name being stated as the card author. Also, I'm planning to post frequent updates on the progress of the game on the server, so feel free to join and participate in polls, closed betas and play-tests early on (together with contests in which you might win a Steam key). The 20 updates 'till launch strategy The way I see it I'm planning to publish 20 of these Steam updates before the full game release (excluding this one). Each of them will mark a major milestone in the game design and development process I'm working through. Thank you for reading all this - hope you wishlist the game, join the Discord community, tell your friends about it and, most of all, look forward to the launch as much as I do!
