About the Game

This Time, There Are Two Hunters

Night of the Slayers is a first-person asymmetrical multiplayer horror game where Survivors and Hunters face off in the dark.

Survivors search houses in a dark forest, gather equipment, repair vehicles, and try to reach the exit. Hunters move as a two-person team: tracking, ambushing, cutting the power, and hunting down Survivors trying to escape.

Queue alone, squad up with friends, or join open rooms through Quick Play and the Server List.

From 5v2 to 8v2: Choose the Scale of Chaos

Choose a 5v2, 6v2, 7v2, or 8v2 match and enter the night.

More Survivors means more chances, but when two Hunters work together, every decision becomes risky. Communicate with your team, share parts, create distractions, and wait for the right moment to escape.

Numbers can be an advantage. Getting separated can be fatal.

Search the Houses. Stay Quiet.

As a Survivor, you must search houses, drawers, closets, and the surrounding area to stay alive.

You can find pistols, ammo, rare shotguns, vehicle parts, lockpicks, and items that can distract the Hunters. Some help you stay quiet. Others can mislead the Hunters when used at the right moment.

But be careful. A single sound at the wrong time can give away your position.

Hiding Is Not Enough. Move at the Right Time.

You can hide in closets, under beds, inside dumpsters, in car trunks, in dark corners, and under boxes.

Some hiding spots are not just for waiting. You can slowly move under a box, watch for the right moment, and try to stay silent while a Hunter is nearby.

Flashlights, doors, windows, footsteps, and objects in the environment matter for both sides. Darkness can hide you, but one careless move can turn you into prey.

Find the Parts. Start the Car. Escape.

The Survivors’ main objective is to get the escape vehicle running.

Find the battery, tire, fuel, key, and other required parts. Carry them to the vehicle, complete the repairs, and create a chance to escape with your team.

Starting the vehicle does not mean the match is over. Hunters can hold the route, block the road, or chase the escape vehicle.

Become a Hunter. Control the Night.

Hunters have their own starting house, their own vehicle, and their own abilities.

Use axes, throwing axes, special abilities, spotlight beams, and road spikes to disrupt the Survivors’ plan. Check houses, block exit routes, stop the vehicle, and hunt down anyone trying to escape.

Survivors must work together to escape. Hunters control the night together.

If You Get Caught, Every Second Matters

Downed Survivors can be dragged by Hunters, locked inside the Hunters’ vehicle, or forced to wait for help from teammates.

If you have a lockpick, you can try to escape on your own. If not, your team will need to come back for you. But rescue attempts are always risky; Hunters rarely hunt alone.

Even Death Is Not the End

An executed Survivor is not completely out of the match.

You can return as a raccoon, help surviving teammates, create distractions, roll tires, move under boxes, or cause chaos to disrupt the Hunters’ plans.

You are small and vulnerable, but you are still part of the game.

Light, Sound, and Darkness Are Part of the Gameplay

Hunters can go to the transformer and cut power to the town. Houses, roads, and exit points fall into darkness.

A flashlight can save your life in the dark, but its beam can reveal you from far away. Running, opening doors, making noise, or using an item in the wrong place can draw the Hunters’ attention.

In Night of the Slayers, atmosphere is not just visual. Light, sound, and movement are part of survival.

Progress, Customize, and Prepare for New Chaos

Earn XP after matches, progress through the game, and show your own style.

Customize your Survivors and your raccoon. New maps, new Hunters, new escape routes, cosmetics, and more content will continue to be added during development.

Add Night of the Slayers to your wishlist, follow the game, and get ready for the first night of the hunt.

DEVLOG #5 – Catch Mechanic & Development Status

Hello everyone, We want to share a clearer update on the current state of Night of the Slayers.Over the past few months, we have been heavily focused on updated character versions, core systems, and the overall game infrastructure. Since we have received many questions about the release timing, we want to provide a more accurate and clearer update. What we can say right now is this: development is continuing, and the game’s core mechanics, designs, and integrations are moving toward their final stage. We are also continuing to work on updated character versions and overall visual quality. We plan to share much more with you very soon. One of the core systems we are currently working on is the Catch Mechanic. This system includes catching the survivor, slamming them to the ground, dragging them, kicking to escape, and the cage interaction flow. Along with this update, we are also sharing a work-in-progress preview sheet that outlines the development direction of this system. We previously said that we did not want to give an exact date. However, since this question has come up so often, we can say that our current release target is Q3 2026. We do not expect to go beyond that window. We recently noticed the “Let the Community Design a Slayer” idea from our Discord community. Players creating their own Slayer concepts, defining a fitting mechanic for them, and having the most liked design selected is something we would be happy to explore. If you have map sketches, new character ideas, or other concepts that you think would fit the atmosphere of the game, feel free to share them in our Discord community. These ideas can be a valuable source of inspiration for future character and map development. We may also highlight one of our favorite community ideas with a small easter egg in a future map, such as carving the creator’s nickname into a tree or another part of the environment.Thank you for your patience and support. We look forward to sharing more progress with you soon....

Happy Holidays from Night of the Slayers ❄️

Development status Thank you for staying with us over the past year and for all of your feedback. We know that the shifting dates and the old “Q4 2025” estimate have been confusing and frustrating, and we’re genuinely grateful to everyone who has remained patient and kept an eye on the project.New target window The game is still in active development. Our current plan is to release Night of the Slayers in Early Access in Q2 2026.❄️ We’re not announcing a specific day yet. After what happened with previous dates, we want to lock the build, run it through all of our tests, and then share a proper gameplay video before we publish the exact release date here on the store page. We wish you a great start to 2026 and look forward to meeting you in the dark forests of Night of the Slayers in Early Access in Q2 2026.🪓Stay connected We are most active on Discord, where we share smaller updates and answer questions more frequently. Night of the Slayers – 27 November Date and Next Steps

Hello everyone,We want to address the 27 November date you saw on the store page and explain what happened. There has been a long period of silence, and delaying so close to that date was not respectful to those who have been waiting for the game. We are sorry for that. For a long time the team has been fully focused on production work: handling code and assets, finishing game-ready models, cleaning up scripts, and developing the new survivors and hunters. That focus explains the lack of communication, but it does not excuse it.On Steam it is not possible to change your release date if there are fewer than 14 days left. We realised that we needed more time when there were already about 11 days remaining. At that point the date could no longer be moved, so the page continued to show 27 November and the extra visibility around that date was effectively wasted. This was our mistake. The build we had at that time was not stable or polished enough for an early access release. Serious issues appeared while preparing a test build, and several core systems and content still need more work before the game can represent what we are aiming for.Our internal goal is to finish the remaining work and have a solid, playable build around the end of this year. This is a goal, not a promise. We will only set a new public date on Steam after a build has passed our own internal testing. The project is very much alive and development is continuing every day. If you would like to support us while we work toward release, you can help a lot by:• Wishlisting and following Night of the Slayers on Steam• Following the Vice Mask Games curator page on Steam• Joining our official Discord server to share feedback and follow development more closelyThank you for your patience and for still caring about Night of the Slayers.Vice Mask Games / Alp Developers of Night of the Slayers

DEVLOG #4 – Escape Vehicle: The School Bus

Hello everyone, We’re introducing a new interactive escape feature currently in development: the school bus. This isn’t just another background element. It’s being built as a fully usable escape vehicle in Night of the Slayers. The bus is designed as a team-focused alternative escape option. With two working doors, a fully walkable interior, and a heavier driving feel, it offers a different experience compared to other vehicles. Players will need to locate fuel and a missing wheel to get it running. Once operational, the bus can break through a secured exit barrier. It’s not built for risky solo plays. Instead, it’s meant to support a more cooperative and fun experience, helping the team move together and stand stronger against the hunter. To stay connected with us and follow development more closely: • Wishlist and follow Night of the Slayers on Steam • Follow Vice Mask Games as a curator • Join our Discord server Thank you for your support. More updates are coming soon.
