About this game
This top-down adventure blends classic pixel art action with modern effects and design.
When Hito gets lost in the woods one dark night, two mischievous wisps spirit him away to the Labyrinth, a prison for lost souls from which no one has ever escaped. Now he must wander the Labyrinth's blocky corridors and fight countless monsters in order to confront his captors and find his way home.
Dodge, Maneuver, Attack!
Maneuver precisely with responsive controls to get the drop on your enemies. Whether you're facing hectic enemy groups or fearsome bosses with bullet hell elements, you'll have to master movement and combat to survive.
Power Up With Hidden Coins
Some of the Labyrinth's walls are fake and hold secrets. Break blocks with wind blade to find power-ups and coins, which grant stat boosts, elemental shields, and more.
Wield Powerful Spells
Starting with the rapid-firing wind blade, you'll soon find other elemental spells with unique properties and attack patterns. Strategize and hit your foes' weaknesses to turn the odds in your favor.
Metroidvania Map Design
Explore two big, cohesive maps full of abstract, colorful areas. Track your progress with the map system, and use warp points to easily revisit places you've been.

Fill Out Your Bestiary
Defeat monsters to earn bestiary entries where you can learn about their lore and weaknesses. There's 41 monster types, with nearly 100 variations.
Choose Your Challenge Level
Whether you're looking for an intense challenge or a simple tour to enjoy the story, Hitodama has you covered. With four difficulty modes from Relaxed to Sadistic, there's something for players of all skill levels and preferences.

Announcing the Spectral Web: Yuurei!
The store page for Hitodama's sequel, the Spectral Web: Yuurei, is up! Head over there to see the new trailer and wishlist the game!Yuurei is a sequel to Hitodama, but aims to improve on it in every way. More zones, more story, more and better everything! I've been working on this in the background for years, and continue to work to make it as full and polished an experience as possible. In addition to full stories with nine main characters, Yuurei features the Fragmented randomizer, which stitches together a big frankenstein map from a selection over 80 zones. Hitodama's zones make a return alongside lots of new zones for a truly dynamic exploration experience. You can also build and share custom zones through the Steam Workshop, which then get shuffled into the fragmented pool. With a bunch of new spells, including new elemental attacks and the addition of effect spells like Halt, Death, and Poison, Yuurei continues to build off of Hitodama's framework and really bring things to the next level.I'd be delighted if you wishlisted the game. And, as a small creator, I'd be grateful if you shared the page with friends who might be interested. Also consider subscribing to the Community for the game. While the base game will be a fully satisfying experience on its own, community involvement is what will really make Fragmented mode live up to its full potential. I'll be posting development updates in the community space, too! Thanks for listening, and I hope you'll look forward to the Spectral Web: Yuurei!Read full article on Community Announcements (Aevin)Patch NotesOfficial

Soundtrack Release and Colorblind Accessibility
I just submitted an update that fixes a number of minor bugs. It also improves the game's colorblind accessibility substantially. Symbols now appear above the Styx whirlwinds and most of the elemental switch orbs, which I hope will eliminate some confusion, perhaps even among players without colorblindness. The other major piece of news is that the soundtrack for the game has been released. You can get it here! Between this and other recent updates, I think all the major bugs have been caught and addressed. (Knock on wood.) There are some minor ones left that shouldn't impact the play experience much. As such, there probably won't be another update for awhile. Thanks so much for playing! -AevinRead full article on Community Announcements (Aevin)AnnouncementsOfficial
