About this game
Gameplay & story:
Playing as Dreamy you are the child of the Ancient Dragon of Dreams summoned to the mortal plain, at a loss of memory, you try to find out more about yourself and who you are all while making friends along the way and journeying to confront and defeat the Nightmare terror plaguing the lands of the valley to save the dragon clans. He has to overcome obstacles, mazes, puzzles and gather the dream shards in order to set the balance right again and choose what
to do with the Nightmare in the end, he can get rid of it permanently, return it to normal or embrace it.
There are over 20 playable characters to add into your party however only 4 can be active in battles at a time. Some battles will require strategy/planning or solving a puzzle to get an ability to help win the battle. Spells can be learned, crafted and upgraded or forgotten through the use of trainers.

Almost there
As of today 09/08/2026 The story and maps have been completed. Its been a long journey but everything is almost done. We're hoping to release the game by December but this is not confirmed yet.The final version of the game will have 28 acts and 8 dream sequence acts to follow along too. There are so many characters that can join you and each will provide some perk against the final boss if you so choose to take them along with you, If your savvy enough, you might even discover some hidden echoes.Still need to work on a few things here and there like a journey log so the player doesn't forget what they are doing, a couple of battle sprites, some in-game profile icons, some battles and boss battles, in-game stickers and if possible steam achievements. 2/3rd's the way done
Its been just about a year since the steam store page was made public. Varkij: Dream and Nightmare is now 2/3rd's of the way done. Its been approximately four years since this game project has been started and it looks like it might be another 1-3 years until it gets released. There are currently 18 acts and 6 dream sequence acts to play though for play testers and patrons. The project is mostly being made by a single person which is why its taking so long.
