About this game

About AETHUS®

You are Maeve, ex-mining engineer for the Astral Resource Corporation - ARC - a galactic megacorp that profits by draining entire planets of their resources.

As you take on your own mining claim, you'll explore the remnants of a doomed science expedition and the abandoned facilities they've left behind as Maeve strives to build a stable life of her own, outside of ARC’s control.

Armed with nothing but her basic mining equipment, tales from her beloved grandad, and her loyal AI drone companion, can you unravel the mystery of an incredibly powerful new element and uncover the dark secrets that the corpos would rather keep buried?

Key Features

Use the simple but powerful modular building system to create your own mining operations hub filled with dozens of types of refining, processing and crafting stations.

Grow plants, raise fish and prospect for gems in your cozy habitats which you can decorate with almost any item you come across.

Descend underground and use lasers, explosives, drills and more to gather hundreds of different resources from your mining claim then refine them and craft new tools for exploration.

Upgrade your suit and mining drone companion to explore deeper and further into the world.

Built from the ground-up with story at its heart, uncover a dystopian corporate conspiracy and decide how far you’re willing to go for the truth.

Story is not an afterthought in AETHUS - there's always new narrative to drive you forward.

Looking for a laid-back exploration experience? Maybe a hardcore survival challenge? Want to mix and match?...

Use the available Game Modifiers to set up your perfect game settings, then adjust them at any time while playing.

AETHUS was created by Pawsmonaut Games - a solo-indie developer based in Edinburgh, Scotland.

    Announcing 'Tidy Up the Town'!

Hi folks! It's been a wee while!I'm really excited to announce my second title - Tidy Up the Town! It's a cozy, no-pressure sorting/tidy-up game set in a medieval market town. You're an apprentice wizard whose early morning practice in the market square has had disastrous repercussions... The entirety of the town's market stalls are now strewn on the cobbles, and your master won't restore your magic unless you put it all back in the right place! As you tidy up, you'll re-acquire your magical powers and be able to use them to do so even more quickly. Master Alaric is definitely not going to let you live this down, though. It is your fault, after all...Please do me a massive favour and wishlist the game!

Gamepad Support now available with Patch 1.035!

Hello, Pioneers!Patch 1.035 is live now, bringing official gamepad support to AETHUS!With the game going on sale for the next two weeks as of tomorrow 6PM BST (10AM PST), there's never been a better time to pick up a copy and begin your adventure! For clarity, this also includes full Steam Deck control support. I am working on getting the game verified (there's more work to do around performance mainly) but it should be totally playable if you adjust the settings!Remember, you can always try out the free demo (which has also been updated with support) and see if the game is for you, risk-free!Version 1.035 - Patch NotesFocus: Gamepad SupportNew FeaturesAdded official Gamepad Support for any standard gamepad/controller including Steam Deck.I've been hard at work getting this working as I know how many of you love to kick back and play with a controller.I've added a brand new interaction scheme specifically for gamepad, which simplifies the most common game actions like interactions, gathering resources and using facilities! The UI cursor (and 3D cursor) is still available for precise control and interaction, handily attached to holding the left trigger and moving the right stick.Added additional facility signage to the Lost World, Magma Rifts and the internals of Scarpa Climber facilities.FixesFixed not being able to place items in build mode if colliding with destructible resources and collision checks are off.Fixed build menu checkboxes potentially being non-interactable when global UI scaling is increased.I am keen to make the gamepad support the best it can possibly be, so please feel free to leave constructive feedback - it's always welcome! You can do this in the Steam Discussions or on the Official Discord (now at over 2,500 members!).Remember, as of tomorrow AETHUS will be 20% off for two weeks, so if you've been waiting for gamepad support before jumping in, it'll be the perfect time!Next week I'll be taking a couple of weeks off for my first holiday in a long ...

Structures like Habitats will only be highlighted when constructing other Structures. - Added the 'Shock Absorbers' Upgrade to the Trade Node which increases the distance you can fall before taking damage by 50%. Improvements - Improved the backup save system to not save on the main menu which reduces potential for 'identical' backups. - Increased maximum backup saves to 12 from 10. - Updated Bladestone, Vitaglass, Depthane's Heart and Miner's Bane descriptions to reflect their use in lens crafting. - Updated the Consuming Items tutorial to make it very clear you need to eat the Cactus Fruit to finish the tutorial.
