STORYLINE

Imagine a world where, after a mysterious catastrophe, the relatively safest place is the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. In 2030, strange and inexplicable phenomena began occurring there. Witnesses claim to have seen powerful and bright flashes in the north of the Zone. The secret government O.S.Z sent a group of scientists under military protection to investigate, but they disappeared without a trace. Their fate remains a mystery.

After their disappearance, many stalkers tried to enter the northern part of the Zone but also vanished. Anomalous activity in the Zone increased, with strong psi-fields and new mutants appearing. Experienced stalkers believe that unexplained processes in the north of the Zone create anomalies and artifacts. However, confirming this is impossible due to the high radiation levels, especially after recent emissions.

It is believed that once the Zone accumulates enough psi-energy, it will destroy all life on Earth. Head to the most secure area in the north of the Zone and uncover this mystery, facing your fate head-on.

    Patch 1.12

Changes and improvements:The VR player controller scripts have undergone extensive optimization. These optimizations were brought over to Z.O.N.A Origin from the D.E.C.A.Y. project.Player physics processing has been improved.Fixed an issue where placing an item into the backpack could trigger several sound effects in quick succession.Fixed a similar issue with the backpack’s shoulder slot, which allows players to store items directly without removing the backpack. Previously, using this slot could also trigger several sound effects in quick succession.Fixed a rare issue where objects in the game world could repeatedly disappear directly in front of the player.Added a hit impact effect for the “Defender” monster. It is strange that I overlooked this earlier.Further optimized the “Defender” monster: tentacle physics processing has been improved and CPU usage has been reduced.Fixed an issue with the Sell button at the “Black Market.” Players previously reported that it could begin moving and jumping around chaotically. This should no longer happen.Increased the rendering distance of certain items.

Changes and Improvements:Magnetic and instant item grabbing has been improved. Previously, it could be difficult to grab the item you wanted if other loot was nearby. This issue should now be resolved. The AS “Val” sight rail is now attached only when a collimator sight is installed on the weapon. Many players asked for the ability to remove it for cleaner iron-sight aiming, and this is now possible. It now performs fewer requests, resulting in lower CPU usage.Improvements have been made to the main menu and death screen. As one player pointed out, the “Continue” button did not slide to the right like the other buttons when selecting “New Game.” This has now been fixed. A small detail, but still :)The price of .50 AE ammunition has been adjusted from 5 to 4 coupons per round to better match the pricing of loaded magazines compared to ammo boxes. Also, for players who mentioned that ammo in boxes and magazines costs differently: please remember that the empty magazine itself has value, and each weapon uses a different magazine type. Empty magazines can also be sold separately. The price of the loaded magazine for the OTs-14 “Groza” has been adjusted. The “VR Sharpness” shader has been slightly optimized.Shadows from campfires and grills at the Free Stalkers base and ...
