About this game

- A hot-blooded, hellishly twisted, feverishly filthy, love and hate filled road trip
Join the crass Garcia Hotspur and his boney buddy, Johnson, as they traverse the depths of the Underworld to steal back Garcia's kidnapped lover, Paula, from the clutches of Fleming, the Lord of the Underworld. Let the soul of rock 'n' roll run loose in the heart of the twisted hellscape that is the Underworld.

- Make it through fiendishly funky dungeons with the powers of light and dark
The powers of light and dark pave your path forward. Like ravers in a nightclub, demons are emboldened by the dark, but grow weak when exposed to the light. Use your buddy Johnson to blast your way through the darkness of the Underworld.

- New content unique to the remaster
• 4 all new costumes: Get dressed to the nines and kick some demon tail in style.
• After your first playthrough, carry over your progress into new game plus and spend an eternity raising hell in the Underworld.

- A cult classic born from the most creative minds in the industry
A third-person shooter crafted by industry legends Goichi Suda (No More Heroes, Killer7, etc.) and Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil, God Hand, etc.)

Shadows of the Damned Hella Remastered is "the way we wanted it," Suda51 says

Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered resurrects a game that fuses several legendary names into one particularly bizarre and brash third-person shooter. The 2011 original brought together Killer7 mastermind Goichi 'Suda 51' Suda, Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami, and Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka. The game that resulted bears striking aspects of all its creators, making it a rather unique prospect - and one unashamed, even excessive, in its bawdiness in a way that is certain to split opinion. At Gamescom, I asked Suda and Mikami what made them want to bring it back now, and if more might follow. Read the rest of the story... Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered (PS5) Review

Shadows of the Damned, originally released in 2011, has garnered a notable cult following over the years. Developed by Grasshopper Manufacture and led by the creative mind of Suda51, the game blends action, horror, and dark humour in a style that is very much a reflection of gaming in 2011. Now, with the release of the remaster, fans can revisit this unique journey through the underworld, complete with upgraded visuals and audio. While the remaster enhances certain aspects of the experience, much of the original gameplay and design remain unchanged—for better or worse. At its core, Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered follows Garcia Hotspur, a demon hunter on a quest to rescue his girlfriend, Paula, from the Lord of Darkness, a demonic figure named Fleming. The game’s narrative is filled with overt sexual innuendo, especially in the banter between Garcia and his sidekick, Johnson, a talking skull who provides most of the phallic humour. While this edgy humour is consistent... Read more
