Delve into Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II, a blend of action, RPG, and strategy where your choices shape the fate of a world. Released in 2026 by Bulwark Studios, this sequel offers intense combat and deep management across ancient Necron legions or the Omnissiah's acolytes.
About this game
After millennia of slumber, Vargard Nefershah mobilises her dynasty’s legions to annihilate the Adeptus Mechanicus interlopers who unknowingly settled upon her world. Across the galaxy, Magos Dominus Faustinius is summoned to bring his hard-won expertise to bear and ensure the Necrons do not succeed. The conflict soon becomes a crucible of unanticipated significance, drawing to it external actors stranger and more deadly still.
Two playable factions, two narrative campaigns, two highly unique play-styles and one important choice – who will you lead to victory in this arcane technological war of cold metal hatred?

Assemble your force, deploy your warriors and crush your enemies in intense turn-based tactical battles. To succeed you’ll need to master and adapt to each faction’s unique abilities and playstyles, as well as the diverse range of combatants at each side’s disposal.
New environmental mechanics require you to maneuver like never before. Play to your chosen faction’s strengths and weaknesses – take cover behind terrain as the Mechanicus, or destroy it as the Necrons.

Fight for control of an entire world, capturing and defending regions from the forces of the foe while generating and managing crucial resources.
Race against the Sankhotep dynasty’s global awakening and drive back their deathless legions as the Mechanicus, or defend the tombs of your people as the Necrons and crush the verminous interlopers.

Deploy and upgrade a characterful entourage of Tech-Priest leaders as Magos Dominus Faustinius, or customise your own court of Necron nobles as Vargard Nefershah.
Manage each of your territory’s garrisons and assemble your forces wisely for each mission, choosing from a vastly expanded selection of fighters from each faction’s range.

Sublime music and audio design by critically acclaimed composer Guillaume David will once again transport you to the grim darkness of the Warhammer 40,000 universe.
Incredible illustrations combine with highly detailed and authentic environments and characters to bring the Warhammer 40,000 universe to awe-inspiring life.

Veteran author Ben Counter, best known for his Black Library novels, returns to tell the next chapter of the Mechanicus saga. Atone for past failures as Faustinius in his ongoing war against the ancient Necron species, and follow the inexorable rise of Vargard Nefershah as she seeks to reclaim the dynasty’s crownworld from the Adeptus Mechanicus.
Experience an epic conflict skilfully woven over multiple campaigns, replete with narrative events. Your choices will shape not just the course of the war, but its climactic outcome.

Hi everyone. While we continue work on the next update, we’ve made a new build available on the optional public_beta branch on Steam. This build includes further work aimed at improving game performance. Our internal testing across a range of hardware has been very encouraging, but PC performance can vary considerably between different systems, so we’d like to test the update more widely before considering a full public release. If you’ve previously experienced poor performance in Mechanicus II, we’d particularly appreciate you trying the beta and letting us know whether you see an improvement, no meaningful change, or any new issues. For feedback and bug reports, please use our bug report form. Where relevant, please include your CPU, GPU, resolution, graphics settings and whether you’re using DirectX 11 or DirectX 12.To access the public beta:Right-click Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II in your Steam Library.Select Properties.Open the Betas tab.Enter mechanicus2beta into the private beta access code field and select Check Code.Select public_beta under Beta Participation.Steam should then automatically download the build. To return to the current public version, select None from the same menu. Thanks as always for your feedback.Read full article on Community Announcements (Kasedo Games)Patch NotesOfficial

Performance Update – Unity Upgrade, New Graphics Settings and Bug Fixes
Hi everyone. Today, we’re releasing a major technical update for Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II, built around an upgrade to a newer version of Unity. Internal testing and feedback from the public beta of this build indicate that the upgrade improves baseline performance and optimisation across a wide range of hardware configurations. However, performance gains will vary depending on your system and settings, and we want to be clear that some players may see limited or no noticeable improvement from the engine upgrade alone. To provide greater control over performance, the update also introduces two new graphics settings: Mesh LOD Quality: Controls the level of detail used for 3D models at a distance. Reducing this setting may improve performance, particularly during larger or more visually demanding skirmishes. Background Effects: Controls the visual effects displayed in the backgrounds of environments. Reducing or disabling these effects may improve performance in affected areas. We recommend experimenting with these settings to find the best balance between visual quality and performance for your system. We have also added a much-requested option to restart a mission from the War Map before it is launched. This allows you to reconsider your deployment and select a different leader or force without needing to reload an earlier save. Our support for the game is continuing, and we will keep reviewing player feedback and investigating reported issues following this release. Please look forward to future news and updates. Thank you to everyone who has submitted bug reports, tested the public beta or shared detailed feedback with us. Your reports have been extremely valuable in helping us identify issues, verify fixes and prioritise our ongoing work. We also greatly appreciate your continued patience and support.Alongside the Unity upgrade, new graphics options and mission restart feature, this update contains a large number of bug fixes. Performance Update Available on Beta Branch
Hello everyone. As previously mentioned, the team is currently working on a performance-focused update for Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II. This build includes a major engine update, with the aim of delivering meaningful performance and optimisation improvements. The build is still undergoing testing on our side. However, because PC performance can vary significantly depending on hardware, drivers, settings, Steam cache state and other system-specific factors, we also want to gather feedback from a wider range of real player setups before moving the update to the main live branch. For that reason, we’re making the upcoming performance update available through an optional public Steam beta branch. This will allow players who are currently experiencing performance issues, or who simply want to help test the build, to try it ahead of the full release and share feedback with us.Beta Branch DetailsBranch name: public_betaBranch password: mechanicus2betaInstructions on how to access the branch:Right-click Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II in your Steam Library.Select Properties.Go to Betas.Enter the beta access code above.Select the beta branch from the dropdown once it appears.Allow Steam to update the game.To return to the current live version, go back to the Betas menu and select None. Please remember:This is an optional beta branch, not the default live version of the game. The build is still in testing and may contain issues or regressions. We’re not asking all players to switch over – only those who are comfortable testing a work-in-progress build. The current live branch will remain available as normal.Feedback from the beta will help us better understand performance across a wider range of hardware before the update is released fully.Reporting Performance IssuesIf on the beta branch you continue to experience severe optimisation or performance issues, please report them through our existing bug report form (https://forms.gle/L6JrusUkoSzaZU5PA).When reporting performance iss...Read full article on Community Announcements (Kasedo Games)Patch NotesOfficial

First, thank you to everyone who has reported issues and shared feedback since the launch of Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II.We know we’ve been quiet since launch. That hasn’t been because we’re ignoring the issues being raised – it’s because the team has been focused on investigating, fixing and preparing updates as quickly as possible. We’re painfully aware that many players are experiencing performance issues, including lower than expected frame rates and unusually high GPU utilisation. Improving performance is a critical priority for us, and work is continuing on a more substantial optimisation update.Today’s update addresses a number of commonly reported bugs and includes a small FPS improvement for many players. However, we want to be clear that this update is not intended to resolve the main performance concerns raised by players.
