German Text Localization and Price Drop
Celebrating a bit more than a year since the release of A Doctor's Term, we're happy to finally announce the German localization of all texts in version 1.3 of the game! This turned out to be a bigger challenge than expected, so thank you all for your patience 🙌 How Does it Work? The game should detect a proper default system language. On German speaking systems it will detect German, otherwise English. In case you're not happy with the default language, it can be changed under the settings. Additional Fixes Fixed a bug related to reading letters, that caused the game to soft lock during the Sep 24 chapter. This bug was fixed thanks to the report of Darshana. Thanks a lot! Various visual bug fixes. Price Drop On top of that we decided to drop the price of A Doctor's Term after its first year of release! We want to thank everyone who supported us buying the game during the first year! This was a huge help and honor, as developing such a game also comes with a certain cost. You're the best ❤️Read full article on Community Announcements (narranoid)Patch NotesOfficial
Stability and Improvements Update v1.2.1
It's been a while, but we're back with an improvement and stability focused update! What's New? Crash Fix: A crash when restarting the game came back due to a plugin update in the previous version and is now successfully fixed. Game Size: Size of the game has been further reduced to be slightly below 3 GB (both Windows and Linux) now! Consistency Fix: We received reports regarding issues making players stuck in the station after certain actions have been performed. After a longer investigation, we are very positive to have fixed all of those. Improved Ending: There were some claratiy issues with the decision making towards the end of the game that have been reworked. Fixed Second Playthrough: Fixed visual glitches when using second playthrough features at the beginning of the game. And More: During MagFest 2026, we took note of various other small issues all over the place that are now fixed for a more stable and immersive experience. And What's Next? Localization and additional settings are still coming soon! We're already working on it, but wanted to ship these improvements first. Stay tuned!Read full article on Community Announcements (narranoid)Patch NotesOfficial
Celebrational Update 1.2
Celebration Update 1.2We wish you a great new year and wanted to use the opportunity to say: Thank you for playing and supporting A Doctor's Term so far 🎆 With the participation at the Super MAGFest 2026, one of the biggest games events in the US, we are pushing a big celebration update version 1.2! Lots of improvements and additional features are in this one, so if you didn't get to try A Doctor's Term yet, now is definitely a good time 🙌But First: Important NotesNote on Saved DataIn general, the update has been extensively tested and should go very smooth. However, as this version comes with a lot of changes, we wanted to be extra cautious in case save games and saved settings may get issues with it. Therefor, we keep the current version available in case you need to roll back. To go back to the previous version, go to A Doctor's Term in your Library, click ⚙️ > Properties... > Betas and enter the code "ADoctorsTerm112" (without quotes). Then you should have this version selected in the Beta Participation. You can safely try to start the newest version and if you expect a save game to exist and there is a Continue button, everything is fine. Otherwise you can close the game and try to roll back the update.Note on Steam Cloud on Steam Deck / Steam OS / LinuxSteam Cloud sync could fail on Linux versions in the past due to a misconfiguration. We resolved this for A Doctor's Term, so be mindful that if you played the game on multiple devices (and one or more were running Linux), your Steam Cloud behavior may now be different. If you played the game on Linux and on multiple devices in the past, you might want to consider temporarily disabling Steam Cloud for the game if you think the local save game is the newest. Now What's New?Better 2nd Playthrough: After completing a game, you can now choose to start the next new game either at the very beginning, or at the day of the observations!Smaller Size: Drastically reduced download size and size on disk, going from ~4.6GB to...Read full article on Community Announcements (narranoid)Community & EventsOfficial

Update for running more reliably on Steam Deck
A minor update was submitted today for our Linux version. No changes to the game itself, but the execution of the game was simplified due to certain Steam Decks having issues executing certain commands needed to start the game. Now the game should run more reliably on deck.Regards,Council of Pure SanityRead full article on Community Announcements (narranoid)
