Embark on a twisted journey through Moroi, where every turn conceals new challenges. Navigate the bizarre world of this adventure game from developer Violet Saint, facing both mental and physical trials.
About this game
Moroi is set within the Cosmic Engine, a personalized hellscape designed to distort any semblance of normalcy. Truth is an illusion, paranoia is constant, and your humanity is an oddity.
You awake to find yourself a prisoner within a living nightmare. Your name, your past: gone, but not the record of your misdeeds. Your crimes: beyond comprehension. Your conviction: incontestable. Your sentence: eternal. The need to escape and set things right: undeniable.
Fight your way out of a living, twisting labyrinth. Hone your skills as you take on dynamic combat encounters and absurd puzzles. Meet the Cosmic Engine’s most disturbing and grotesque inhabitants, all with unique and nonsensical personalities, who are just as likely to aid in your quest as they are to deceive you.
Escape means freedom, and in freedom, the truth.
Descend through the surreal, twisting Spire as you recover from amnesia and slowly discover the morbid truth about your past and your hostile surroundings. Cling to your sanity as the very fabric of reality is unraveled before your eyes.
Take on the army of undead with an arsenal of unorthodox weapons and accessories. You may prefer the quick slices of the Chainsword for large hordes of enemies while reserving the devastating blows of the Power Hammer for boss fights. Or go all-out and replace your entire arm with a fully functioning cannon. Mix and match to find the build that best suits your playstyle.
Test your resolve with a myriad of environmental and logic puzzles. In a world devoid of sense and reason, you’ll have to stoop to your lowest if it means moving forward. Solve puzzles by drinking blood, forcing regurgitation, and digging through viscera. Fun.
Designed especially to torment you, the Cosmic Engine will stop at nothing to keep you contained. Several playthroughs of Moroi will be required to experience all the game has to offer, from subtle changes within the story to the multiple fate-changing endings.

MOROI is OUT NOW!
Hey people! It's the first time I'm posting here, and a long time since I've posted something. I've been developing and working on Moroi for some time now, and we've finally almost reached the launch date. The feeling is complex, and it's of both excitement and wonder. Exactly what I've always felt since I entered the world of video games. There are also many battle scars beneath the surface, because making games is not hard, it's very hard. While I'm here, a little about me. I am Alex, a Romanian currently living in Switzerland. I began my career as an artist, and I've been around within a couple of gaming companies, learning the craft and getting to understand that there's a whole machine behind a game, many people who turn passion into wonderful games for us to enjoy. I always wanted to make my own game, and with it, to escape the boundaries of not expressing myself. A couple of years ago, I just went for it. I went for it without knowing how to program anything. Without knowing how to work with the Unreal Engine. Scary, I know. But tutorial after tutorial, I started understanding the concepts and I kept pushing forward. Indie games and news from within the industry kept me focused and learning about the inner workings of how to get to this point. Little by little, Moroi started taking shape, and I started to feel more confident that this crazy decision had started to materialize into a wonderful thing. Since the beginning, Moroi was a very personal project. It was a place where I could freely express myself. So I took things that I liked, and stitched them together, making them work little by little, until what I had in front of me was something with a life of its own. From that point on, I started "listening" to the game, and began shaping it into what it wanted to be. Violet Saint was soon established as a one-man company, working on this one-man project. Logistics and reality soon hit me like a ton of bricks, as I quickly understood that as beautiful as this ...Read full article on Community Announcements (Harris)Press Coverage
Moroi (PC) Review
Before I started playing Moroi, I was only really aware of what a Moroi was through the context of Phasmaphobia. I was aware it was some kind of ghost, but I hadn’t really taken the time to properly look into its origins. So when I saw a game named after the spectre, I assumed it would be a spooktacular romp and in some ways I was right, but in many ways I was dead wrong. Moroi initially hooked me with a truly evocative aesthetic and a seemingly interesting gameplay loop. However, the longer I played, the more frustrated I became, and it started to become clear that an interesting look was really all the game had going for it. I honestly can’t remember the last time I bounced so hard off something I theoretically should have loved. It’s hard to talk about the story of Moroi because it’s one shrouded in intentional mystery, and to say too much will veer too far into spoiler territory. Simply put, it begins when the protagonist awakens in a strange... Read moreRead full article on CGMagazine (Jordan Biordi)AnnouncementsOfficial
