About this game
Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is a unique Japanese-inspired, single player Kagura Action Strategy game.
The game takes place on a mountain covered by defilement.
During the day, purify the villages and prepare yourself for sundown.
During the night, protect the Maiden against the hordes of the Seethe.
Repeat the day and night cycle until you cleanse the mountain of defilement and return peace to the land.
Unique Japanese-inspired World
The setting is Mt. Kafuku—a mountain covered in defilement. The game offers a taste of Japanese culture, including Kagura dance, masks, as well as the music that plays in the background.
The Seethe
The Seethe emerge from the Torii Gates to the other world when the sun sets. This enemy, which has a variety of different abilities, attacks at night under the cover of darkness, targeting the Maiden. The director's ideas and attention to detail have been packed into the design that presents the setting of this game.
Exhilarating Sword Dance Action
The main character, Soh, wields a sword to protect the Maiden of the mountain, Yoshiro, as she confronts the Seethe. Do not be intimidated by the enemy's array of attacks, and slay them with dance-like sword attacks!
A Fusion of Action and Strategy.
Soh's battles are not fought alone, but with the help of villagers who have been bestowed roles. What placements and roles will be most effective? Where will the villagers fight? And which enemies will Soh focus on? Constant changes during battle will test your strategy and tactics.
Purify the Torii Gates of the Defilement.
If you can survive the Seethe attacks until dawn and lead Yoshiro to a Torii Gate while the sun is still up, you can purify it with her Kagura dance. Restore peace to the mountain villages!

Kunitsu-Gami anniversary update removes Denuvo from Capcom's 9/10 strategy game
2024 was packed with delights, from the all-conquering Balatro to the bombastic Helldivers 2, and even Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree. But Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess was my favorite surprise of the year, a true throwback to developer Capcom's older days and the era of Okami, Onimusha, and Viewtiful Joe. It's just turned one year old, and a special anniversary update includes an 8-bit gift, along with the additional note that it's removed Denuvo anti-tamper. Read the rest of the story... Free update! New extra content, Otherworldly Venture added!
The extra content, Otherworldly Venture, is a skill-testing mode that emphasizes exhilarating action and strategic thinking. Set in an alternate world hidden behind the Torii Gate, this new game mode offers a streamlined version of the standard day/night cycle, featuring an endless horde of enemies. The Maiden's health does not regenerate in this mode, so it's game over when her health reaches zero. Players are challenged to strategically plan positions and villager placements more intensively than in the main game, resulting in a demanding yet rewarding experience. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44913889/b1e49657e43dd7fe63c43146e28379a9d3d60ec3.pngRead full article on Community Announcements (capcomjapan_marketing)Press Coverage
Kunitsu-Gami Path of the Goddess' new mode dials the strategy up to 100
Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess was my 2024 game of the year. Sure, there was Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and even Balatro, but Capcom's bizarre tower defense action game hybrid was something new. Developed by Capcom Division 1, the team behind one of my all-time favorite series, Devil May Cry, it's faithfulness to Japanese culture and highly stylized demonic Seethe make it gorgeous to look at, while its hard-as-nails strategy gameplay and slick, almost dance-like combat make it hard but not overly punishing. If you've completed the game already or, like me, want another reason to dive back in, the brand-new Wayward Journey mode is perfect for you - but beware, it's tough as hell.
