Discover Cube Kingdoms, an indie strategy game where you build settlements, defend against various foes including goblins and demons, all released in 2026.

About this game

Survival City builder meets Auto-Battler

Cube Kingdoms is a medieval fantasy city‑building game with isometric voxel graphics. You construct a settlement, manage its economy, protect it from attacks, and strike back. The focus is not on micro‑managing units or building a complex economy, but on mastering the challenges of each map, using the limited available space wisely, and defeating your enemies before they overwhelm you.

Build Your Economy

In the Economy View, you establish production chains to sustain your settlement. This includes basic buildings like lumberjacks, quarries, and smithies, as well as specialized structures such as wells, charcoal kilns, or sanitation facilities. As your settlement grows, a dense and lively bustle of working inhabitants, transport routes, and resource flows emerges.

Plan Your Defense

The Defense View focuses entirely on protecting your settlement. Here, you place walls, gates, traps, and station your troops. When an attack occurs, the game loads a dedicated battlefield: the attacker deploys their units at the edge, while your defenses attempt to hold the keep at the center. Combat plays out as an auto-battle, based on your preparation and positioning.

A World Full of Factions

The Overworld Map reveals your surroundings. This is where you will find friendly and hostile castles, neutral settlements, and boss monsters, while merchants, armies, and scouts move across the land.

Management and Progress

Several menus assist you in governing your kingdom:

  • A skill tree that unlocks various advantages.

  • A happiness and needs overview for your inhabitants.

  • Menus for recruitment, storage, trading, and commands.

Fantasy Setting

The world is populated by goblins, undead, demons, and other fantasy creatures. Every region brings its own unique challenges and opportunities.

I fully support content creators! You have my permission to record, stream, and monetize videos of Cube Kingdoms on platforms like YouTube and Twitch, including members-only content.

    Small improvements and bug fixes

The following changes were made in the latest patch:🛠️ ImprovementsThere are now two new speed levels: 0.2x and 0.5x. These only appear when reducing the game speed, not when trying to go above 5x. A UI button has been added to decrease the speed. When watching an attack, the speed resets to 1x.You no longer need to open the extra UI to collect resources. The information is now shown in the bottom‑right window, and clicking the button sends the collectors immediately.Text now scales better. The tutorial is now shorter and better structured.🐞 BugfixesThe UI scaling option no longer worked. An exception occurred when the mouse left the game window area.Potions were displayed in the top‑left corner of the recruitment menu.Melee units tried to attack gates even when a path to the keep already existed.During the first playthrough, the intro started while selecting a difficulty. The tooltip for difficulty sometimes didn’t disappear. The baby sound did not play in the campaign. It should no longer be possible to get stuck on the loading screen when opening the castle view at the exact moment another player enters.Melee units could no longer deal damage to buildings.Kind regards, Maikel – GamingPugsStudios

    Future of Cube Kingdoms

Hello everyone,It’s been a little while since the last status update, and I’d like to give you an overview of how things will continue with Cube Kingdoms. As announced, I released the first major content update on Monday (12.08.2026). Back then, I mentioned that further updates would depend on how the game develops.Sales numbers are still small but stable – which shows me that there is interest. At the same time, the refund rate is still fairly high, which makes me believe that more content and more gameplay depth could help. For that reason, I’ve decided to create another major content update and then take another look at how things evolve.Planned content for the second updateMerchant Guild: Unlocks auto‑trading and auto‑collecting; the market can be upgraded into the guild.Adventurer Guild: Allows recruiting hero units.Bandit Camps: Spawn randomly, attack the nearest player, and must be destroyed. Weakly defended but annoying.Reworked Tutorial: I think the current tutorial isn’t interesting enough and may contribute to refunds.I’m open to additional ideas – feel free to leave your feedback in the comments. Playable factions are also an option, though without completely unique building sets. The update will take some time, as I’m also working on a small side project. It’s a small F2P learning project with an optional hat‑skin pack.Thank you all for your support and feedback – it helps me tremendously.Best regards, Maikel – GamingPugsStudios
